This morning, Serena woke up two hours later than usual, groggily opened her eyes, and found herself nestled in a man's embrace.
Under the soft and cozy down comforter, the warmth of his chest kept her comfortable all night.
As she lifted her head, a subtle rustling sound emerged from her movements, prompting Adrian to open his eyes briefly, then close them again as he battled drowsiness. His chin rested against her hairline, and his voice was lazy and tired:
"You're awake, are you hungry?"
In Serena's view was his prominent Adam's apple, which bobbed as he spoke.
Under the covers, Adrian's arm encircled her slender waist, drawing her into his embrace, kissing her collarbone, her exposed shoulder, tenderly and lingeringly.
