Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Starting Out with 5 Beast Husbands

After Luna Sutton was blown to pieces in the apocalypse, she had just opened her eyes when she found herself in a cave, everything around her primitive and wild.

"What's going on? Where am I?"

She sobered up a bit, wariness written all over her face.

Then, she saw a man standing in front of her—absurdly good-looking,

with a pair of strange, silvery eyes, features like they were carved, sharp and delicate, broad shoulders and a narrow waist.

His skin was a healthy, wheat-colored bronze, a piece of animal hide wrapped around his waist, long and powerful legs, a well-toned body, exuding wild strength from every inch.

So hot he could ruin a city, basically made you weak in the knees.

"Animal hide?"

Her gaze landed on his waist—wait, was this some kind of prehistorical era?

Before she could even process that thought,

the man's icy, disgusted voice rang out by her ear.

"Luna Sutton, you actually drugged me with aphrodisiac fruit. You think I won't do anything to you, is that it?"

The man's eyes were dark and sinister, brimming with violence—a look that said he pretty much wanted to rip her apart.

Luna frowned, completely unable to understand what he was on about.

Not knowing the situation, she didn't dare say anything reckless either.

Corbin Crowley saw her silence and took it as admission, his gaze growing even more disdainful.

He reached out and grabbed her chin, his grip so strong it hurt like hell: "Since you want it that badly, I'll grant your wish."

With those words, he shoved her hard.

Luna Sutton was thrown onto a stone bed, so damn hard it hurt like a b*tch.

Instantly she was pissed—who cared who this guy was, she let loose and cussed him out: "What aphrodisiac fruit? I have no idea what you're talking about, are you a rabid dog or what, just biting people for no reason..."

"Heh... I'm a rabid dog, am I? Dare to do it but won't own up? Who else but you would be this shameless?"

Corbin let out a cold laugh, his expression pure scorn.

The aphrodisiac fruit's effects had already kicked in, making him feel like his whole body was about to explode.

He looked up at Luna's ugly, hideous face, and his eyes radiated utter distaste.

But the drug in his system forced him to get close—even though he was so grossed out he wanted to puke.

Luna saw him moving in, replayed his earlier words, and immediately figured out what he was trying to do.

Panic shot through her—so, in a desperate move, she kicked him hard.

Right in the family jewels.

"Argh—Luna Sutton, are you looking for death..."

Corbin stared at her in disbelief, his eyes cold and venomous, clutching himself and veins bulging on his forehead, absolutely furious.

For a second, he really wanted to shift into his true form and just bite her to death.

But something made him hold back, leaving him angrier than ever before.

Are you nuts or something?

She drugged him?

...And now she's resisting and kicking him there...?

What the actual hell...

Luna realized she'd just kicked him in the goods and had no clue if she'd totally ruined him, so she gave a sheepish laugh.

But now was not the time to care—she scrambled up and bolted as fast as she could.

Inside the cave, Corbin's raging roar echoed: "Luna Sutton, just you wait for me..."

The sound was deafening.

Luna heard him loud and clear and shuddered all over, running even faster.

It was only after she'd put a good distance between herself and the cave that she dared stop.

She patted her chest, heart still pounding from fear.

God, that was terrifying—she'd almost had her chastity ruined. And by some actual caveman no less...

She still had no idea where she was exactly, but she was pretty sure she'd transmigrated to the prehistoric era or something.

Where else would people be running around in animal hides?

Suddenly, her head throbbed with pain, and a flood of someone else's memories surged straight into her mind.

When she'd finished digesting them, she felt like she'd just eaten sh*t—face scrunched up in constipated horror.

This was that Beastman otome game she'd heard about before. The original Luna was a total clown—ugly, lazy, and basically a background character doomed to fail.

The real heroine, Chloe Callahan, is the player who transmigrated into this game for reasons unknown, and got picked up by Male Lead #1.

Male Lead #1 was the guy in the cave just now—Corbin Crowley, the handsomest and most powerful, and also one of the original Luna's Beast Husbands.

The original Luna had four other Beast Husbands too—each one the cream of the crop among the Beastmen.

Her leader dad forced the pairings on all of them.

With marriages like that, of course it turned into an absolute mess—none of the guys wanted anything to do with the original Luna and dodged her like she had the plague.

There was a plot where the original Luna tried to seduce Corbin Crowley by slipping aphrodisiac juice into his food.

Luna figured what just happened in the cave must be that plot point.

She had no clue how the original Luna died, only that she was tossed right into the aftermath.

With that realization, she wanted to die a little inside.

Once the heroine, Chloe, gets brought to the tribe by Corbin Crowley, the original Luna's sole job is to act as a side character/tool for everyone else's love story.

To shine between the player-heroine and Male Lead #1, Male Lead #2, #3, #4, and #5, acting as an obstacle or a springboard.

Once the heroine and all the male leads are living happily-ever-after, the original clown gets her exit cue.

Luna massaged her temples, head pounding—what kind of nonsense was this?

She'd struggled to survive in the apocalypse all that time, only to end up in this primitive world. Still, it did seem much more peaceful—a helluva lot better than the apocalypse, so maybe she'd get by somehow.

She resolved not to get involved with any of the male leads—let them be all lovey-dovey with the heroine for all she cared.

She was absolutely not being anyone's tool character.

Plus, she needed to find a way to break off her beast marriage contracts with these five—being single was surely the way. Who needed men, anyway?

She dusted herself off, standing up and looking around.

It was the hottest time of day—the sun blazing harsh and bright high in the sky.

All around were towering ancient trees, winding vines, and wildflowers blooming like crazy. The air was full of earthy and leafy scents.

Every once in a while you could hear a few beastly roars and birds singing, like some ancient melody—mysterious and distant.

A few females were out drying animal pelts; when they saw her, they immediately started whispering and casting her sidelong looks full of scorn and mockery.

She didn't care. These females either fancied Corbin Crowley or her other so-called husbands.

Luna didn't need to hear them to know exactly what they were gossiping about.

It was nothing new—just talk about how shameless she was, trying to bed her husbands and spiking them with drugs and all that noise.

She wanted to find somewhere private to test if her supernatural abilities had transmigrated with her.

She hadn't gone far when she saw an absolutely gigantic black python, its tail curled as it dragged back some huge prey. Its cold, snaky eyes were intimidating—but disturbingly intelligent.

Wait, a giant python?

She stared—there was only one serpent in The Wolf Tribe, and that was Male Lead #2: Rhys Blackwood. He'd once been hunted by The Serpent Tribe for some reason.

Rhys was strong as hell, but he couldn't fight off an entire tribe forever—when he was dying, the original Luna's dad found him while out hunting.

Luna's dad rescued Rhys from The Serpent Tribe and brought him here. Even called in the witch doctor to save his life.

After he recovered, Rhys joined The Wolf Tribe as one of their own.

Still indebted to Luna's dad, that's the only reason he agreed to marry the original Luna.

The giant python met her gaze, its eyes flashing briefly with a very human disgust, then turned into a tall man, dragging the prey off with him.

Luna was stunned, watching his departing, human back, her face full of complicated emotions.

So that's Rhys Blackwood?

The mysterious and unpredictable Male Lead #2 from the whole game?
