Luna Sutton was afraid the two of them were about to fight, so she quickly spoke up: "Um, Rhys, can you let go of Corbin? If you keep coiling around him like that, he can't walk properly."
Rhys Blackwood heard this, and his cold, serpentine pupils finally turned to Corbin Crowley.
Sure enough, Corbin's wolf face looked pretty terrible, his silver eyes dark, on the verge of losing it.
Rhys's gaze flickered, but he uncoiled from Corbin, returned to his original size, and slithered around Luna Sutton's side.
Kian Sterling also returned to his beast form, turning into an all-white fox with nine tails behind him—looking absolutely gorgeous.
He had been walking at the very back, but now he sped up and made his way to Luna's side, taking up position with Rhys on either side, curiously examining her.
He really couldn't figure it out—just what had changed about this lazy, greedy, and incredibly ugly female?
How did she actually get the leader to agree to take her out hunting?
She even awakened a power?
Seriously, what the hell was going on?
Kian's beast form didn't look as terrifying as Rhys's—in fact, he was downright pleasing to the eye, like a big fluffy ball of joy.
Luna was a total sucker for anything fluffy. Seeing such a beautiful fox, she couldn't help but reach out, wanting to give him a pet.
The fur just looked so pettable, she couldn't resist.
However, before her hand even touched him, Kian jumped away warily, putting more distance between them, eyes icy cold.
He looked like if she dared to try anything, he definitely wouldn't be nice about it.
Luna awkwardly pulled her hand back and rubbed her nose, a little embarrassed.
She seemed to have forgotten that Kian really didn't like her either, and hated being touched by her.
When Kian saw she wasn't reaching again, he finally looked away.
But he didn't get any closer, still keeping a certain distance.
Zeke Veridian also shifted into his beast form—a huge wolf with green-tinged fur, about twice as big as a normal wolf, almost the same size as Corbin.
He'd been ahead, but now slowed down, coming up beside Luna, joining Rhys and Kian, covertly sizing her up.
Luna's transformation today was just too drastic—he couldn't help but be curious.
However, seeing Luna sitting on Corbin's back, and every so often wanting to pet Kian, a flash of disdain flickered in his wolf eyes.
Shameless.
He immediately looked away and stopped paying her any attention, focusing on the road instead.
Malachi Arcanus did the same, turning into a jet-black giant wolf, walking at the back, looking ice-cold and radiating a "stranger, stay the hell away" aura.
He'd thought Luna had changed for the better, but now, seeing her sitting on Corbin and still trying to pet Kian, he realized he'd been overthinking it.
If Luna knew that just trying to pet Kian was enough to make them all dislike her, she would probably never have tried—even if you beat her to death.
The group moved quickly. Within a few minutes, they'd left the tribe far behind.
After over an hour, they entered Tagren Forest.
The trees in Tagren Forest were towering and lush, blocking out the sky—the sun filtered through in patchy, shifting rays.
The forest was deathly quiet, only the occasional insect chirps and bird calls breaking the silence. Honestly, it was a little creepy.
But for Beastmen, this place was heaven.
Luna sat on Corbin's back, looking around with wide-eyed curiosity, eager to take it all in.
This was her first time in Tagren Forest—even the original Luna had never visited, just hung around the tribe at most.
Chloe Callahan had been dumped in Silverpine Forest to the southwest yesterday—not here—so, with any luck, Luna wouldn't run into her.
Still, she kept her guard up and asked the system, "Hey, hostie, is it OK if I call you that?"
"You can."
The system's voice quickly sounded in her mind, "What's up, host?"
"Yesterday, when Chloe transmigrated, didn't I quietly dump her in that forest? How's she doing?"
She asked this mentally to the system.
The heroine is from the modern world and doesn't have much ability to defend herself, but with the protagonist's halo, she definitely wouldn't die.
Sure enough, the system responded soon: "Host, after you dumped Chloe in Silverpine Forest, she did encounter some danger. But she happened to run into a Fifth-rank Beastman from the Winged Tiger Tribe, Caleb Manning, and got rescued at the last moment. Now she's been taken back to the Winged Tiger Tribe and is living in Caleb's cave."
No surprise there.
Luna curled her lip. She remembered Caleb was the sixth male lead—a Winged Tiger who later became one of Chloe's beast husbands.
Thanks to her interference, those two had bumped into each other early.
Knowing Chloe was in the Winged Tiger Tribe, Luna stopped caring.
Anyway, they wouldn't run into each other for a while, and Chloe probably wouldn't show up to annoy her soon.
"Hostie, can you check if, besides me and Chloe, there are any other transmigrators or reincarnators?"
She suddenly thought of something and continued asking mentally.
If she and Chloe could transmigrate here, there was no reason others couldn't.
The system found its host pretty vigilant—exactly the kind it liked.
It scanned the world and then answered, "Other than the host and Chloe, at the moment, I haven't detected other transmigra… Wait, actually there's a reincarnator—right in the Winged Tiger Tribe."
"Huh? Seriously? Who?"
Luna only asked casually but was genuinely curious—who could it be in the Winged Tiger Tribe?
The system was silent for a bit, as if confirming, and then gave the answer: "It's Pearl Vance, a female from the Winged Tiger Tribe."
"Pearl Vance?"
Luna muttered the name—it sounded familiar. After thinking for a long time, she remembered: another villainous female in the novel.
Pearl was the most beautiful female in the Winged Tiger Tribe, had liked Caleb Manning since she was little, and had always wanted to become his mate.
Caleb, as male lead #6, was of course incredibly handsome and absurdly strong—almost as strong as Corbin and Rhys—one of the best among the younger generation in Winged Tiger Tribe.
Females who liked him were as plentiful as fish in the river.
Pearl liking Caleb was totally normal.
Too bad Caleb didn't like Pearl, and after he met transmigrator Chloe Callahan, he fell for Chloe at first sight.
To end up as Chloe's beast husband, he once fought epic battles with Corbin, Rhys, Kian, Zeke, and Malachi, battling until the sky went dark.
In the end, Chloe stopped them, crying all pitiful like: Please, don't fight for my sake anymore, I'm not worth it, I love every single one of you…
Anyway, she collected them all in the end—and then a bunch more after that, apparently.
By the end of the story, she basically had a reverse harem, all living happily ever after together.
Back on topic—Pearl, as another villainess, ended up dying tragically, kind of in the same boat as the original Luna.
Now that Pearl has reincarnated, she probably won't like Caleb anymore.
After all, her last life ended so badly; if she's still into Caleb now, there's something seriously wrong with her brain.
Whatever happens, though, she'll definitely want to get revenge on Chloe.
"Hostie, does Pearl have her past memories?"
Luna thought of this and asked again.
The system was a little speechless: "She's a reincarnator—of course she's got her memories."
Luna made an awkward face, feeling like she'd just asked a really dumb question.
Pearl's alive again and has her old memories, and Chloe is now in the Winged Tiger Tribe—she's not going to have an easy time.
Anyway, it's got nothing to do with Luna. She knew the story, so she dropped the topic and didn't ask anymore.
