Bella looked at him with reddened eyes, "What do you mean?"
Damian remained silent.
Bella gave a self-mocking smile, "You just think it's fun to tease me and watch me embarrass myself, don't you?"
"I don't." Damian frowned.
"You don't, then just don't ever appear in front of me again, you really make me... make me..." Bella bit her lip, her heart churning with a whirlwind of emotions. She knows there is no future, yet she still clings to him. How useless she is.
Bella lowered her head, diverted her gaze, and finished her unfinished sentence, "You really make me feel unbearable."
That's not true. She didn't hate him; she just hated how he affected her repeatedly, hated her own uselessness, hated herself for not being able to let go despite saying she would.
Damian's pupils suddenly widened, his tall frame frozen in place, his expression inscrutable, unsure if he was hurt or incredulous.
Bella didn't dare look at him and walked past him with her head down, quickly leaving.
