Caden Lockwood's face carried a faint hint of sarcasm as he sized up Evelyn Morgan repeatedly, and asked coldly, "You want to know?"
Evelyn Morgan's breath hitched, and she quickly said, "I don't want to know! I was just asking offhand! Whether you say it or not is up to you!"
Upon hearing this, Caden Lockwood's eyes showed a flash of disappointment, which quickly returned to normal, leaving only indifference and coolness.
"Alright." Caden Lockwood responded, "Don't you want to leave? I'll fulfill that wish for you."
With that, he released his grip on Evelyn Morgan's hand, turned around, and slowly walked out of her sight.
Evelyn Morgan's legs went weak as she watched Caden Lockwood's departing figure, her eyes gradually becoming blurry.
Her chest was filled with a vast amount of resentment. She opened her mouth, wanting to call out to him, but couldn't utter a single syllable.
Sniffing, she too turned and continued walking without direction.
