Hearing the word "disturb" in Caden Lockwood's words, Evelyn's legs went weak, and she barely managed to stay upright.
Her face turned pale in an instant, and she looked at Caden's resolute ice-cold expression, feeling a sting at the tip of her nose.
"I've already apologized to you," Evelyn murmured. "You deceived me before, saying we had been intimate, and you haven't apologized to me either, but I forgave you. Why do you always hold onto things like this and..."
The words trailed off, feeling his growing anger, she could only shut her mouth.
Caden's anger flared even more, glaring at Evelyn, an overwhelming coldness pushed her back.
Evelyn felt helpless and somewhat wronged; she had come to appease him and had apologized, so why was he still not showing her a kind face?
Hadn't Aunt May said that as long as she sweet-talked Caden nicely, he wouldn't stay angry?
But that's not how it is at all!
