Knowing Evelyn was in a bad mood, Aunt May and Kiki hovered around her.
The most anxious one was Aunt May.
She didn't know what had happened, but she could tell that Evelyn and Caden Lockwood must have had a conflict.
Evelyn locked herself in the study, buying lots of books and claiming she wanted to diligently improve herself.
But those books always stayed on the shelf, never even opened.
Even when Aunt May made all sorts of delicious food for Evelyn, she had no appetite. In just a few short days, she had visibly lost weight.
Under the dim light, Evelyn sat at the desk, with a book laid out in front of her and a phone on top of it. She kept staring at the phone, as if doing so would make it ring.
But, in the end, she was disappointed.
Scrolling through the phone book, she had only a few contacts saved, not knowing whom to call. Seeing the name L, she felt particularly close to it.
As for who L was, she didn't seem so eager to know anymore.
