Caden Lockwood stared at the oil lamp without speaking, the scattered glimmer of tears in his eyes looked even more desolate under the faint light.
"If you leave Evelyn Morgan, would she really be safe?" Julian Keaton retorted, "Caden Lockwood, from the moment you decided to be with Evelyn Morgan, you should have known the path you both were to take would be a rough one. Now, so many people know how deeply you cherish her, you can't back out anymore. Once you do, she'll face even greater danger."
"How could I not know?" Caden Lockwood lowered his gaze, "I just... don't know how to face her, those things I've concealed from her, those things I can't tell her, yet one day, she will know."
Julian Keaton patted Caden Lockwood's shoulder and comforted, "Yvonne Rhodes's death wasn't your fault."
After a pause, he spoke again: "But if something happens to Evelyn Morgan, you'll regret it and suffer for the rest of your life."
