Standing in place, Evelyn felt so hot she was about to get heatstroke. She took off her jacket and walked over to retrieve the necklace left on the flowers.
Perhaps it had spent too much time with the flowers, as the necklace carried a fresh floral scent, as if it had been transformed by the Goddess of Flowers.
She stared intently, and indeed, the necklace was quite beautiful.
Only then did she realize that the music note was actually a symbol of "Evelyn," and the diamonds on the note sparkled in the sunlight, as if custom-made for her, stirring her heart.
With a smile she could hardly hide, Evelyn resisted the urge to put it around her neck, trying to feign an indifferent demeanor.
Taking a deep breath, Evelyn clenched the necklace in her palm, and then retrieved all the gift boxes from the car, piling them in the corner of the study without even looking at them.
"Young Madam?" Aunt May followed Evelyn, "What's wrong? Don't you like it?"
