Chapter 232 - Lance Arrives

"Alright, alright—Charizard, you can stop now."

Seeing the fatigue in Charizard's eyes, Chen Shi quickly spoke up.

Charizard had been releasing Flamethrower for quite a long time. With such a massive display, Cynthia and Steven Stone had definitely noticed it by now.

Continuing any further would be pointless.

Hearing the command, Charizard let out a relieved breath and immediately stopped.

Meanwhile, Victini looked completely unaffected. It blinked its big blue eyes and leisurely floated back onto Chen Shi's shoulder.

As if supplying that much energy just now had been nothing at all.

"Charizard, go back and rest for a while."

Seeing its exhausted state, Chen Shi recalled it into a Poké Ball.

"Alright, let's head down and wait."

He signaled Dragapult and Metagross to descend.

"Chen Shi gege, will this really work?" Phoebe asked as she jumped down from Metagross, puzzled.

Even without an explanation, she could guess what he was doing—

trying to attract Cynthia and the others.

But whether they would actually come…

was another matter.

Chen Shi shook his head.

"I don't know if it'll work. But it's the only method I can think of right now."

"This secret realm already has two dark organizations inside. It's no longer just a simple trial."

"If things go wrong, it could turn very dangerous."

"So I need to gather everyone together. With Jirachi here, no one will be able to harm us."

Phoebe thought for a moment and nodded.

She knew just how powerful Team Magma and Team Aqua were.

Even the Champion-level Gengar at Mt. Pyre had been severely injured by their leaders.

Cynthia and Steven might be strong—

but they wouldn't be a match for those leaders right now.

"…I hope they get here soon," Phoebe murmured.

Then suddenly, she seemed to think of something.

"Chen Shi gege, do you think others might also see this and come over?"

Chen Shi waved his hand casually.

"If they see it, they see it. We're just looking for Cynthia and the others—if others come, so be it."

"Honestly, with how dangerous things are right now, them gathering here might even make things safer."

He wasn't anyone's babysitter.

If it were people like Lance, he wouldn't mind helping a bit.

But for unrelated strangers—

he wouldn't go out of his way.

Just as he finished speaking—

Jirachi and Mew suddenly turned toward the same direction.

Soon—

a figure appeared.

"It's you?"

Caitlin looked at Chen Shi in surprise.

She hadn't expected the commotion earlier to be caused by him.

Chen Shi, however, wasn't surprised by her arrival.

He had already seen her before and knew she was nearby. With her ability to teleport, it wasn't strange she arrived so quickly.

He found a relatively clean spot and sat down.

"There are two dark organizations inside this secret realm. They're very strong."

"The reason I caused that disturbance earlier was to find my friends."

"I'm hoping to draw them here."

Caitlin's expression darkened slightly.

Earlier, she had encountered three people claiming to be from Team Aqua. They had even tried to steal her Pokémon.

She had intended to teach them a lesson—

but the leader, a man named Tide, was powerful and had an Elite Four-level Pokémon.

Realizing she wasn't a match, she had used Teleport to escape.

Later, she noticed the phenomenon in the sky and came out of curiosity.

And ended up running into Chen Shi.

Afterward, Caitlin recounted everything that had happened.

Chen Shi nodded lightly.

Tide—

he had heard of him.

One of Team Aqua's key operatives, and one of Archie's right-hand men.

With both Team Magma and Team Aqua mobilizing fully, it was only natural Caitlin would encounter him.

"I suggest you don't wander around," Chen Shi said.

"The leaders of those two organizations have Champion-level Pokémon."

"Champion-level…" Caitlin's expression grew serious.

She knew exactly how terrifying that level was.

If a Champion-level Pokémon targeted her—

she wasn't even sure she could escape.

Then she looked at Chen Shi, who seemed completely at ease, and asked curiously:

"If they have Champion-level Pokémon, why don't you seem worried at all?"

"And you even made such a huge commotion. Aren't you afraid of drawing them here?"

Chen Shi smiled and shook his head, offering no explanation.

If that really drew Maxie and Archie here—

he'd be thrilled.

Wouldn't that just be delivering themselves straight to him?

Sure, he wasn't their match—

but who said he had to fight alone?

And besides—

he had come fully prepared.

Even without Jirachi or Mew stepping in—

he still had his own trump cards.

He waved his hand.

"If you're not leaving, then find a place to sit."

"Honestly, you don't need to worry too much. I heard Drake also entered the secret realm."

"If things get bad, just press the emergency button."

"As long as Drake shows up, what's there to be afraid of?"

Caitlin hesitated briefly, then nodded.

That made sense.

She found a spot and sat down.

Just like that—

the three of them waited quietly.

Chen Shi, worried some might miss the location, occasionally had Metagross fire a Flash Cannon into the sky as a signal.

Soon—

another unexpected figure arrived.

"Well, well… who's bold enough to cause such a huge commotion in such a dangerous place?"

"So it's you."

"Oh? Miss Phoebe and Miss Caitlin are here too?"

Lance rode in on a Dragonite, a smile on his face as his red cape fluttered dramatically behind him.

He looked as flashy as ever.

Seeing that it wasn't Cynthia but "Lance the show-off," Chen Shi immediately lost interest. He waved his hand and said to Phoebe:

"You go explain the situation to him. Judging by that look on his face, he probably doesn't know anything."

Lance's face darkened as he jumped off Dragonite, gritting his teeth.

"I told you, my name is Lance. Lance—not some 'Lance the show-off!'"

"And what's going on? What is it that I don't know?"

Chen Shi rolled his eyes.

As expected—

this guy knew nothing.

Phoebe obediently stepped forward and began explaining everything about Team Magma and Team Aqua entering the secret realm.
