Chapter 242 - Everyone’s Decision

"Then the other sea god will awaken as well!"

After hearing Chen Shi's explanation, Lance spoke in disbelief.

"That's right," Chen Shi said with a faint smile.

"The name of that sea god… is Kyogre."

At this point, Chen Shi no longer intended to hide anything.

These people had already decided to follow him.

So he laid everything out—

Team Magma's goal.

And the possible consequences.

He had originally hoped to scare them into leaving.

But—

clearly, that didn't work.

Diantha spoke in a low voice, her eyes filled with shock:

"I believe that Hoenn's legendary Pokémon has the power to create land… but I don't believe Team Magma can control such a being."

In Kalos—

there were also legends.

Of life, death, and order.

Beings of terrifying power.

Diantha had once heard from a high-ranking League figure—

those legends might not be myths at all.

Because someone had actually seen the god of order—

watching over the world.

Chen Shi nodded.

"You're right. They can't control it."

"But the problem is…"

"They think they can."

Leon's expression darkened.

"A bunch of lunatics."

"If they trigger a battle between those two… the consequences will be catastrophic."

"Exactly." Steven Stone spoke up.

He then recounted the disaster from a thousand years ago—

when the two legends clashed.

The more they listened—

the worse their expressions became.

The land shattered.

The ocean rose to blot out the sky.

Just imagining it—

was enough to send chills down their spines.

Lance said gravely:

"So what you're saying is… Team Magma forced their way into this secret realm because of Groudon?"

"…That Groudon… is actually inside this place?"

Silence.

Everyone had thought of it—

but no one wanted to say it out loud.

Because it was too terrifying.

If Groudon was here—

and Team Magma awakened it—

the consequences…

were unthinkable.

Chen Shi grinned faintly.

"Actually… your imagination should be a bit bolder."

"Didn't I say earlier?"

"It's not just Team Magma."

"There's also Team Aqua."

"And speaking of Team Aqua…"

"You know what their ideal is?"

Lance frowned.

"Stop playing around. Just say it."

For some reason—

he had a very bad feeling.

Chen Shi chuckled.

"Their ideal is simple."

"The exact opposite of Team Magma."

"They want to create a world… covered entirely by ocean."

"..."

Silence.

Complete silence.

Everyone understood immediately.

They finally grasped what Chen Shi meant by "be bolder."

And they also understood—

why Team Aqua had entered the secret realm.

After a long pause—

Diantha asked hesitantly:

"You mean… Kyogre is also here?"

Chen Shi gave a thumbs up.

"As expected of Kalos' top genius. Smart."

Caitlin hesitated before asking:

"But didn't you say those two are mortal enemies?"

"Why would they be in the same secret realm?"

Chen Shi nodded.

"They are enemies."

"But like Steven said—"

"A thousand years ago, a dragon god intervened."

"It stopped their battle."

"And sealed them in this place."

Lance thought for a moment.

"So… a form of containment?"

"More or less," Chen Shi replied.

Lorelei adjusted her cracked glasses and said:

"Maybe we should report this to the League."

"This is beyond what we can handle."

Diantha and Caitlin nodded immediately.

At first—

they thought this was just a rescue mission.

Now—

it had escalated into something far bigger.

Chen Shi shook his head.

"I already got some information."

"To get in here, both organizations severely injured Sidney."

"And Steven said—Drake has already gone to the ocean area."

"Even if we report it now…"

"It's probably too late."

"By then, Team Magma may have already found Groudon."

"So what do we do?" Caitlin asked.

She looked at Chen Shi—

who still seemed strangely calm.

Leon stepped forward, spreading his hands.

"Seems like we don't have a choice."

"We have to try and stop Maxie."

"Don't worry too much."

"With my master's Urshifu here—we'll be safe."

Lance immediately spoke:

"I'm in."

"We cannot let those lunatics awaken them."

"Otherwise… history will repeat itself."

Phoebe raised her hand enthusiastically.

"I'm in too! I'm getting that orb back!"

Steven adjusted his suit, smiling confidently.

"Something this interesting? Count me in."

Cynthia spoke calmly—

but her voice carried absolute resolve.

"I'm in."

Lorelei glanced coldly at Lance.

"If someone like him dares to go…"

"Why wouldn't I?"

"Count me in."

Diantha and Caitlin exchanged a look—

then smiled.

"I suddenly feel… fired up."

"Add me too."

"Me as well."

At this point—

only one person hadn't spoken.

Everyone's gaze—

fell on Chen Shi.

"Chen Shi," Steven called.

Faced with their expectant eyes—

Chen Shi froze for a moment.

He hadn't expected this.

He had laid everything out clearly—

how dangerous it was—

and yet—

not a single one chose to leave.

Instead—

they all chose to stay.

Even he felt his blood stir slightly.

Finally, he sighed helplessly.

"Honestly… I don't know what to do with you guys."

"But let me make one thing clear—"

"Don't hold me back when the time comes."

"Ha! As if we'd be the ones holding you back!"

"Yeah, don't get cocky just because you beat me once!"

"If we fight again, who wins isn't certain!"

"Hahaha—let's go!"
