Chapter 89 - Chapter 87: Stolen Time (3)

Rei was confused with whatever what Eunji and Rinka was saying as he woke up way earlier than he had expected. Normally, he would just catch up with Sylvie in the morning at the library for their quick talks and company for each other but Rei did not expect to hear anything from the two seniors.

"It's like she has no memory of attending Kamigami Academy nor you." Eunji said outside the infirmary as Rei was pinching the bridge of his nose, wondering what had happened since Sylvie had texted him last night about a certain staff member from the academy that was fired years ago.

However, he never got any text back as if she had forgotten about him. Rei asked Ha-Eun about it and had only told him that Sylvie left earlier to go back to the room with Eunji and Rinka who also swore that the magenta haired girl looked to be having a headache as they let her sleep early.

"Alright. Is she cold and professional?" He asked as Eunji nodded her head, "Shxt… This is gonna be harder than what I expected…" The male exclaimed to himself before entering the infirmary calmly.

The magenta haired girl looked at Rei in total confusion before recognising him. "Him?! Of all people?! The 'blank'?!" Sylvie exclaimed while Elliot was scratching the back of his head. "Not only did I lose some of my memories that I want to know why I started attending some fictional fantasy of an academy. Then finding out that I somewhat lost my prowess and now I have to stay with him cause he is supposed to be the only person that I was close with?!"

Rei sweat dropped but had also shown an interest. "Senior. You did say that she has no recollection of me right?" He asked while the strawberry blonde responded back with a hum. "Alright. Let me test it out then."

Eunji raised an eyebrow before seeing Rei leaned close to her, face inches against each other as Sylvie blushed red. "G-Get off! Stay away! you 'blank'!" She exclaimed as she tried to hit him before he grabbed it easily then showing his glowing red eyes.

The amnesiac girl was baffled, not expecting the 'blank' to have a prowess before gritting her teeth. "Just because you have prowess and I don't. Doesn't mean I will allow you to do as you please." Sylvie growled while Rei stood emotionless before leaning closer that made her lay down on the bed, making some of Eunji, Elliot and Eri surprised at him then wonder if they should stop him or not.

"You say all that but why aren't you pushing me then?" Rei asked which infuriated Sylvie as she tried to answer back but couldn't find any logical answers for him as if something was telling her not to do it.

"Like what I expected." The male sighed as he let go of her before looking at the three, "It's not a permanent loss of memory but rather a blockage. Since her body is refusing her to hit me when the old her would've slapped me immediately."

Rei looked at them in total confusion from why they looked so shocked with his actions. "What? Is something wrong?" He asked while Eunji pinched her forehead then Elliot started scolding him.

"YOU IDIOT! SHE HAS MEMORY LOSS! AND WE'RE STILL TELLING THE HEADMASTER ABOUT WHO'S INFORMING SYLVIE'S PARENTS ABOUT THE SITUATION! THIS BETTER NOT GO WORSE IF SHE DECIDES TO PRESS CHARGES ON YOU!"

Meanwhile, Sylvie was starstruck as she wondered when the supposed to be 'blank' now 'awakened' had the guts to do that while also looking more attractive to which she felt weird yet comfortable with. A feeling that she had never known or known of that existed in her.

"It's nothing. I kinda like it… Wait what?!" The amnesiac girl uttered to herself, slapping herself to push her head out of the gutter. "Get a grip! Just because he looks handsome doesn't mean that I gotta thirst over him– HUH?! Thirst?! When did I even learn not to say slang words like that??" Her mind ran wild as she tried to push the image of Rei out of her head.

"I am perfect. I am not going down that path! I will become successful." She exclaimed to herself before starting to doubt herself.

"Successful… Do I even have a dream? Do I want to become a doctor or a lawyer? I just need to be successful… right?" Sylvie questioned herself as Rei noticed it before excusing himself from Eri's report for Sylvie's well-being.

"Are you alright? We can take you back to the dorms if you're feeling unwell." Rei said as Sylvie blushed slightly at his manner, a gentleman to be exact which made Eri and Eunji scoff at him.

"N-No. I'm fine… I guess I'm just not used to this?" Sylvie uttered before Rei nodded his head, "I see. Feel free to reach out to me or to senior Eunji if you need help. There are people who are willing to lend out their hand to help you. Just don't try carrying all this weight on you." Rei said as he patted her head which made Sylvie feel a sense of comfort for some reason before deciding to trust him.

Meanwhile, the two nurses and the senior were just baffled at how the two were interacting despite the other one who just lost their memory were acting towards him. "Christ… Get a room! This ain't no romance show…" The three uttered to themselves in unison as they began to work with their own things.

"Don't come for the shift today. Just stay with her. You will need it the most." Eunji said to Rei as he nodded his head and agreed with her before heading off to give Sylvie company.

"Thanks." Rei mouthed towards Eunji as the strawberry blonde brushed it off as if it was no big deal. Just trying to give them time for each other, especially when they're always busy nowadays.

......…

Sylvie was somewhat happy for some reason as Rei was telling her things about the academy and their own personal connection of what she was supposed to have. The magenta haired girl was surprised when Rei told her about them being closer than what friends should be since they were bold enough to touch each other which made her flustered and embarrassed before changing topics.

"By the way. Why did I want to become a lawyer?" She asked Rei while the latter paused for a second before letting out a deep sigh.

"To be honest. I can either tell you that or let you figure that one out to give you a nudge of any memory that you could recall."

His statement made her angry but immediately understood why he didn't want to tell her. It was probably something cheesy or about herself disclosing it to herself then giving him a confused answer back then.

The feelings in her heart continued to spike up and down. Sylvie wanted to be the same old person that she was with being cold and mean since it was more efficient for her to deal with her own personal drama.

However, when she's around with Rei is where she felt like closing that wall and letting herself be calm around him although Sylvie still felt a bit awkward since the way he described her was somewhat ridiculous.

Easy-going, nonchalant and chill with a relaxed personality which feels weird to her especially when she's supposed to be professional and serious. Rei laughed at her attempted excuses before letting her try a game or two on her phone that she didn't know the password until her body did it for her from muscle memory.

Sooner or later, Sylvie felt her face being flushed from both embarrassment and frustration over the fact that she had to play at least five or more games of a simple game just to win one fight. "Not a word.' She exclaimed, eyes glaring daggers to Rei who was barely able to hold his giggle.

Rei was about to say something to which Sylvie immediately interrupted him, "SHUT UP!" She exclaimed with a blush on her face while Rei broke down then started laughing.

"If you're gonna laugh at it, at least show me if you can do better than me."

Sylvie's statement made her want to retract it so badly while holding herself at giving him a right hook but wanted to stay professional after he showed her an impressive gameplay. She pouts unconsciously which made the male smile at her before patting her head.

"We can still walk around the campus if you want. Maybe I can show you the cafeteria and order our usual drinks." Rei said as Sylvie nodded, liking his vibes and total attitude to which she found quite nice especially when she was too used to seeing him being mischievous and energetic.

"Sure thing." Sylvie responded as she followed him, a soft smile forming at her face yet her body still remembers the comfort and warmth that Rei had on her.

A sense of safety and home…
