Chapter 76 - CHAPTER 76 - THE MONSTER THAT STAYED”

The silence didn't leave after Kiyo disappeared.

It stayed.

Heavy, thick, suffocating the entire facility like something invisible was sitting on top of it. The scientist residential, once filled with noise, movement, and constant thinking, had become something else entirely. No alarms rang, no one screamed anymore. It was worse than chaos.

It was quiet acceptance.

Raizen walked deeper inside, his footsteps echoing lightly against the floor as if nothing around him mattered. His hands were in his pockets, posture relaxed, like he wasn't standing in a place where dozens had just vanished from existence. His eyes moved slowly from side to side, not searching just observing.

"…This is it?" he muttered under his breath, glancing at the broken equipment, scattered papers, and empty space where people used to stand. "All that talk about perfection… all that research… and this is what you became."

A faint sound came from the far hallway.

Footsteps.

Not running.

Not panicking.

Approaching.

Raizen smiled slightly without turning. "…Finally."

Three members stepped into view, their expressions tense but controlled, weapons already drawn. They weren't like the others earlier. Their eyes weren't filled with confusion.

They knew.

One of them spoke first, voice steady despite everything around them. "Raizen."

He turned slowly this time, facing them fully. The smile on his face didn't change, but something behind his eyes sharpened just a little.

"…Yeah?"

"You killed them."

He shrugged. "…Looks like it."

Another one stepped forward, gripping his weapon tighter. "After twenty years… this is what you do?"

Raizen tilted his head slightly, almost curious. "…You're still stuck on that?"

"You lived with us."

"…I stayed with you," Raizen corrected calmly. "There's a difference."

The third one clenched his jaw. "…We trusted you."

Raizen let out a small breath, like he was tired of hearing it. "…That's your fault."

The air shifted.

Not dramatically.

Just enough.

The first member moved instantly, his body bursting forward as he swung his weapon with full force, aiming straight for Raizen's neck. The speed was sharp, clean, practiced someone who knew exactly how to kill.

Raizen didn't move at first.

Then-

A small tilt of his head.

The blade passed by.

Missed.

Before the man could react, Raizen stepped in, his hand lifting slightly as if brushing something away

And the man's upper body disappeared.

No blood.

No cut.

Just gone.

The lower half dropped to the ground with a dull sound.

The other two didn't hesitate. They attacked together, one from the side, one from above, coordinating their strikes perfectly like they had trained for years.

Raizen moved through them.

Not fast.

Not rushed.

Just… precise.

The first strike came from the right.

He stepped inside it.

The second from above-

He raised his hand.

A thin distortion formed in the air.

The weapon touched it-

And vanished.

The man's expression didn't even have time to change before the same line reached him.

Gone.

The last one froze for half a second.

That was all it took.

Raizen appeared in front of him, close enough to see the reflection of his own eyes in the man's pupils.

"…You should've run."

The man tried to move

Too late.

The space between them folded

And then there was nothing left.

Raizen stood there alone again, exhaling slowly as if finishing something mildly tiring.

"…Still disappointing."

A voice echoed from behind him.

"…You really did it."

Raizen didn't turn immediately.

He already knew.

"…Took you long enough."

Heavy footsteps approached, slower than the others, but each step carried weight. The ground almost seemed to react to it, faint vibrations running through the floor with every movement.

Turbo stepped into the room.

For the first time

Raizen's smile shifted slightly.

Not softer.

Just… more interested.

Turbo's eyes moved across the room, scanning what was left, the erased spaces, the broken structure, the absence of people who had been there just moments ago.

"…You killed all of them."

Raizen finally turned, facing him directly.

"…Yeah."

Turbo's fists tightened slowly, his breathing deep but controlled. "…After twenty years."

Raizen nodded once. "You keep repeating that like it means something."

Turbo's voice dropped. "…It does."

Raizen shrugged. "…Not to me."

For a moment, neither of them moved.

Then Turbo took a step forward.

"…You ate with us."

Another step.

"…You laughed with us."

Another.

"…You helped people."

Raizen watched him calmly.

"…And?"

Turbo's jaw tightened.

"…And now you're standing here like none of it mattered."

Raizen smiled again, wider this time.

"…Because it didn't."

Something in Turbo snapped.

The air around him shifted instantly as his body reacted, muscles tightening, veins rising slightly under his skin as something deeper activated. His breathing changed, faster but controlled, like his entire system had just flipped into something else.

Adrenaline.

Not normal.

Not human.

His body surged forward.

Fast.

Faster than his size should allow, his fist cutting through the air with enough force to crack it as it aimed straight for Raizen's head.

This time-

Raizen blocked.

The impact exploded outward, the floor beneath them cracking slightly as the force traveled through their bodies. Raizen slid back half a step, his eyes narrowing just a little.

"…Oh."

Turbo didn't stop.

Another punch.

Another.

Each one heavier than the last, his speed increasing with every movement, his reflexes sharpening as his adrenal activation pushed him beyond normal limits.

"You think this is a game?!"

His fist connected

Raizen shifted

But still got hit.

A direct blow to the side, strong enough to send him sliding across the floor before he caught himself.

Turbo grinned.

Not calm.

Not friendly.

Something wild.

"…That's right."

He cracked his neck slightly, his body still building, still rising.

"I'm not them."

Raizen wiped a small trace of blood from his lip, looking at it for a second before smiling again.

"…I can see that."

Turbo rushed again.

Faster now.

Sharper.

His movements weren't just brute force his reflexes had caught up, adjusting mid-strike, correcting angles, adapting instantly.

Raizen stepped in to meet him.

Their fists collided again.

And again.

The room shook with every impact, cracks spreading further along the floor and walls as the force between them escalated. Turbo didn't slow down, didn't hesitate, didn't care about the hits he was taking in return.

Raizen's strikes landed clean.

Precise.

Each one aimed to break something.

But Turbo endured.

His durability held, his body absorbing the damage as if pain itself didn't matter anymore.

He laughed.

Actually laughed.

"…That's it?!"

Another hit landed against his ribs

He didn't flinch.

"You're gonna need more than that!"

Raizen's eyes sharpened.

"…You're burning through your body."

Turbo grinned wider.

"…Good."

He lunged again, his speed spiking even higher as his adrenal system pushed further, his movements becoming more aggressive, more relentless.

"I don't need to last!"

He slammed into Raizen, driving him back, forcing him to actually step, to actually respond instead of just erasing everything around him.

For a moment...

It looked even

Strike for strike

Force against force

But then...

A shift.

Small.

Almost invisible.

Turbo's breathing.

Just slightly heavier.

His movements...

Still fast.

But not as clean.

Raizen saw it.

Of course he did.

"…There it is."

Turbo ignored it.

Charged again.

His fist came in

Raizen caught it.

Held it.

Firm.

Turbo's eyes widened slightly.

Not fear.

Realization.

Raizen stepped closer, their faces now inches apart.

"…You're strong."

His voice dropped.

"…But you're already struggling."

Turbo's grin didn't disappear.

"…Shut up."

He tried to pull back..

But Raizen didn't let go.

The distortion formed around his other hand.

Thin.

Sharp.

Unseen.

"…Let's see how long you last."

The space near Turbo's shoulder...

Twisted.

And cut.

Turbo's body jerked slightly as part of his upper arm disappeared not torn, not broken, just erased from existence. His breath hitched for a split second

Then he laughed again.

Louder this time.

"…HAHA!"

Blood ran from his mouth now, his body clearly taking damage, but his eyes still burned.

"That's it?!"

Raizen's smile widened.

"…You really are different."

Turbo forced himself forward again, even with the damage, his body still pushing, still fighting, still refusing to fall.

But now...

There was no doubt.

He was struggling.

And Raizen...

Hadn't even gotten serious yet.

The air between them grew heavier as both stood there, one pushing beyond his limits, the other watching those limits break in real time.

And then...

They moved again.

The fight wasn't over.

Not even close.
