Jay pov.
I woke up when sunlight come to my face. I heard Kade stirring and Making small sounds. He's waking up too.
We're sleeping on the bed beside keifer's. Percy has gone home last night because he has to take care of something but he sent some of his men for our safety. It's not like keifer's men are not there but still he did his security too.
I opened my eyes and first saw Kade tiny face scrunching up.
I smiled and kissed his head.
Then, my eyes immediately find keifer. He was sleeping.
Kade was making sleepy, grumpy sounds. I sat up and pulled him on my lap. I know he's hungry.
I lifted my shirt and bra and as I put my nipple on his mouth.. he became quite.
I was feeding him while caressing his hair.
After he was done, he fall asleep again.
I laid him on th bed again and stood up and walked towards keifer. He was still asleep.
I kissed his head and headed to washroom to freshen up.
I came back and saw Kade was still sleeping but keifer was awake. He was looking at Kade.
" Good morning" I said walking towards him.
He tried to sit up so I quickly went to help him.
He winced once he settle down.
"Why did you try to sat up hurriedly. Why if you hurt yourself. Don't be careless" I scolded him.
And this shameless man just smiled.
"Stop smiling!" I said pouting
"Can't. You're cute" he said smoothly.
I rolled my eyes.
Even injured he still manage to flirt.
Gago.
The door knocked.
"Come in" I said.
The door opened and a nurse came with our breakfast. Well we're in elite hospital with VIP treatment.
She stood the trolley beside our bed and Left.
I picked up the bowl of soup. Yeah for keifer off course.
I turned towards him and he made a disgusting face.
I sat on the bed beside him.
I blow the spoonful of soup and bring near his face.
"I'm not eating this " I said making a awful face and turned his head a little.
"Don't act like Kade. You have to eat this " i said but still didn't opened his mouth.
I sighed.
"Baby.."
Nothing.
"Hubby??"
No response.
Ahhh! He's really pissing me off.
"Keifer!" I said pretending to be strict and angry.
"You want me eat?" He asked
Is that even a question? Idiot.
"Off course" I said making a face
"Fine" he said and my face lit up
"But...." My face fell again.
"Share your food with me" he completed his sentence.
"No" I said quickly.
"Why not?"
"The doctor didn't allow that" I said.
" Th doctors don't know anything about taste" he complained.
I inhaled sharply.
Oh Lord! Give me patience or I might punch my injured husband.
Oh I have an idea. I'm 200% sure it will work.
"If you eat this, I'll kiss you" i said and his head snapped towards me.
I smirk in my mind.
"How many?" He asked.
"As many you want." I said
I kissed him. Soft and quick.
"That's one," he said, a smug grin spreading across his face. "You owe me... many more."
"Eat first," I said, bringing the spoon back to his lips. "Then we'll talk about the rest."
This time, he opened his mouth and let me feed him. He made a face with every spoonful but didn't complain. I fed him the entire bowl, wiping a stray drop from his chin with my thumb.
Be became obedient when it comes to kisses.
"Done," I announced. "Now, let me eat my breakfast."
He watched me as I walked to the trolley and grabbed my plate—scrambled eggs, toast, and fresh fruit. I sat on the chair beside his bed, crossing my legs.
"Come here," he said, patting the space beside him on the bed.
"Keifer, you're injured—"
"I'm fine. Just come here."
I sighed, rolling my eyes, but I brought my plate and sat next to him anyway. He immediately wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me closer.
"You're not eating," he observed, looking at my plate.
"I will. Stop staring."
"I'm not staring. I'm admiring."
I felt my cheeks warm. "You're impossible."
"And you're beautiful," he said, kissing my temple. "Now eat."
I took a bite of my eggs, and he watched me with that soft look he gets sometimes. The one that makes my heart flutter like a stupid teenager.
"Did you sleep well?" I asked between bites.
"Better now that you're here." He pressed another kiss to my hair. " Did you sleep well? And Kade? He's sleeping well?"
"Yeah I did," I said
He's been out since I fed him," I added glancing at our son, who was still curled up in the bed beside the bed we were sitting. "He's a good baby."
"Like his mom," Keifer murmured.
I snorted. "I'm not good."
"You are. You put up with me."
"That's not a compliment," I laughed.
He grinned, and I leaned into him, carefully avoiding his bandaged side. We stayed like that for a while, comfortable silence filling the room. I finished my breakfast, put the plate aside, and then he spoke again.
"Where were we?" he asked, his voice low.
"Hm?"
"Before you interrupted me." He tilted my chin up with his finger. "You owe me kisses. I believe the count is still... many."
"You're impossible," I repeated, but I was already smiling.
"And you love me," he said confidently.
I didn't deny it. Instead, I leaned in and kissed him again—longer this time, softer. His hand came up to cup my cheek, and I melted into him.
When we pulled apart, he was looking at me like I hung the moon.
"Happy now?" I asked.
"For now," he said, and his hand found mine. "But I'm not done with you yet."
I blushed again, and before I could respond, Kade let out a small cry.
"I'll get him," I said, moving to stand.
"No," Keifer said, his grip on my hand tightening. "Let me. I want to hold him."
"You're injured—"
"Jay. He's my son. I can hold him for a few minutes."
I looked at him, saw the determination in his eyes, and finally nodded. "Fine. But don't move too much. I'll bring him to you."
I walked over to the bed nest to keifer and picked up Kade, who was blinking sleepily, his little face scrunching up as he woke. I brought him to Keifer, carefully placing him in his arms.
Keifer looked down at our son, his expression softening into something so tender it made my chest ache.
"Hey, buddy," he whispered. "Daddy's got you."
Kade blinked up at him, then made a small cooing sound.
"He knows you," I said, sitting beside them. "He missed you."
Keifer kissed Kade's forehead. "I missed him too. Missed you both."
I leaned my head on his shoulder, watching them together. My husband and my son. My whole world in one hospital room.
" I think the doctor will be discharg you soon" I said quietly. "We need to take care of you."
"I have the best nurse already," he said, grinning at me.
"Shut up," I laughed, lightly slapping his chest.
He caught my hand and kissed my knuckles.
"I love you," he said.
And despite everything—the chaos, the worry, the sleepless nights—I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be.
"I love you too," I whispered back.
Kade made a small sound, and we both looked down at him. He was already falling back asleep in his father's arms.
"He's perfect," Keifer murmured.
"Yeah," I agreed, my voice thick with emotion. "He is."
Keifer settled back against the pillows, Kade still cradled against his chest, and I stayed right beside them, my head on his shoulder, my hand over his heart.
And for the first time in days, everything felt right.
