Chapter 164 - Chapter 160. Save My Daughter!

omen of ibytas

Remnants of an exotic truth encountered at Byrgenwerth.

Using illusions, specifically the ethereal bodies that serve the ancient gods, to summon a part of Ibytas's abandoned body.

The first encounter represents the beginning of exploring the Universe from within the labyrinth, and further facilitated the birth of the Choir.

This slug-like object is actually a part of an ancient god's power. Researcher Goki found this item in the Healing Church.

Although it looked disgusting at first, it wasn't sticky to the touch, feeling somewhat like jelly. When bored, Researcher Goki would play with it in the Hunter's Dream, and then the Nona Doll would order him to wash his hands thoroughly before eating.

However, despite its unappealing appearance, the 'omen of ibytas' was indeed an exceptionally powerful creation.

As long as he mastered certain arcane techniques, Researcher Goki could use this power to summon a part of the ancient god's body, the Daughter of the Cosmos, Ibytas.

Which means... a true, professional tentacle with suckers.

"Mmm—pff pff, mmm..."

Inside the lab, after a period of relative calm, Muelsyse / Muir Sais, who had been listening intently to the Director's speech, suddenly flushed again, clutching her chest with her hands, pressing down on her petite body, and couldn't help but squirm in her seat.

Beside her, Saria's expression grew stranger and stranger. She had dealt with Muelsyse / Muir Sais for many years, and the smiling tiger always wore that somewhat nauseating, fake smile.

But... today, Saria saw an expression on Muelsyse / Muir Sais's face that she had never seen before... How to describe it? It actually seemed a bit pitiful?

"Are you really alright? If you need it, I have a chalk treatment needle?"

However, Saria's kind reminder was met with a complicated look from Muelsyse / Muir Sais. Her body continued to tremble slightly, occasionally twitching suddenly.

"No need. Also, I'd like to ask, Director Saria, what kind of person do you think Researcher Goki is? You and Silence, you two haven't already been taken by Goki, have you? Have you really become a family of four with Ifrit?"

The feathers on her head had already drooped limply, and her pointed ears were completely red. Muelsyse / Muir Sais's lips trembled slightly, and her expression made Saria feel even stranger.

Upon hearing her words, a faint blush unconsciously crossed Saria's cheeks. She then sharply lowered her head and gave Muelsyse / Muir Sais a headbutt with her bent Dragon horn.

"Huh? What do you mean! I warn you, don't use your filthy and impure thoughts to judge Goki. He is completely different from a dark egoist like you!"

Someone slandered Goki, and Saria was naturally extremely displeased. But after hearing her words, Muelsyse / Muir Sais's expression became even stranger, even revealing a somewhat pitying smile.

"Ha... Should I say you're so naive because you're a Vouivre / Wyvern, or that someone as naive as you couldn't have lived healthily to this age without being a Vouivre / Wyvern?"

Feeling the slick, wet, enveloping sensation from various parts of her Clone's body, and the strange feeling from her sensitive areas—Muelsyse / Muir Sais's expression twisted further.

She really... couldn't hold it in!

"That Goki is much more proactive and carnivorous than you imagine... And, never mind, let's pay more attention to the Director's speech."

Leaving Saria with an inexplicable statement, Muelsyse / Muir Sais turned to look at the innermost part of the laboratory, where, in a glass room, the Director, now in a white lab coat, stood before a sleeping Ifrit (due to anesthesia) and was speaking passionately.

"Oh, right, I have something for you—some scoundrel wants to talk to you."

Saying that, Muelsyse / Muir Sais handed her phone to Saria.

Saria took the call with a strange expression, lowering the volume.

"Shh, Saria, listen to me."

Then, she heard Goki's voice, the one she had been waiting for.

"Comrades, I believe you've all heard these legends and scoffed at them—the ruler of Yan Country drew his sword and became a god, ending the calamity of the Yan Country's gods as a Mortal god; Sargon's Golden Warriors united as one, defeating the Flame Giant that emerged from the Burning Wind Scorched Earth; Kazimierz's knights overthrew the rule of the ancient Gods People, establishing a glorious knight nation; Sami's Snow Priestess and the Ursus people fought for millennia, yet a century ago, they joined forces in the far north to resist unknown Strange..."

With a calm and confident expression, the Director slowly and earnestly spoke to the several Structure Department researchers and the heads of each department in the room.

"As discussed in the previous meeting, our world contains 'gods,' powerful beings far beyond us—and these legends are also true."

With a snap of her fingers, some holographic images were projected from the lab's cameras, appearing in the center of the room.

What was displayed were countless experimental records and images of experimental samples.

Bodies far exceeding humans, even Sarkaz, over two meters tall, covered in fur, with wolf heads, yet stronger and faster than typical Lupo ancestors, pouncing on Lupo people who looked like gangsters, pinning them to the ground and tearing at them.

Some were amorphous, almost solidified from darkness and smoke, barely discernible in outline, dark monsters easily tossing a soldier in Ursus Shieldguard armor several meters into the air.

Others were gaunt, glowing with an unusual silver light, with soft tentacles growing from their heads, and another tentacle extending from the back of their skull, piercing the head of someone in a Rhine Lab research uniform, constantly siphoning off silver-white light as he convulsed.

Evil, Weird, distorted, the existence of these creatures brought no less shock to the department heads than the previous Flame Giant.

Undoubtedly, these non-human entities were the absolute enemies of humanity.

"Siracusa's man-eating beasts, Ursus's snowfield monsters, Kazimierz's cosmic faith... For nearly ten years, I've explored almost every region of Terra, searching for the truth behind those folk myths and legends, entering countless ruins, and having contact with countless tomb raiders. My doctoral thesis continues to this day."
