On Terra, not many people looked up at the stars. Although technology was advanced, humanity knew very little about what lay beyond the sky.
The people of Terra could build mobile cities as vast as mountains, but rockets, satellites, and spacecraft were completely absent. Only stargazers still looked up at the heavens.
The reason was simple... various nations felt no need to explore the Universe.
"Humanity's gaze still only rests upon the land, unable to see beyond the continents, or the threats in the ocean, and they are even too lazy to raise their heads to the sky..."
During a casual chat in the small clinic, Kaltsit once told Goki this, her words filled with both regret and the disappointment of seeing potential unfulfilled.
Clearly, she understood the vastness of heaven and earth, and regretted the Terra humans' self-imposed limitations and shortsightedness.
However, if Kaltsit were to truly govern a nation, she probably couldn't do much. She might be smarter than royalty, but even with all her wisdom, the human heart remains the most unpredictable.
Therefore, Kaltsit became the lone Terra fixer she is now. Just cleaning up the messes for those who court death and drag all of Terra down with them has already worn Kaltsit out.
The Starry Sky is so vast, yet humanity is confined within this cage called Terra, slaughtering and consuming each other like beasts in an arena, allowing the wheel of hatred to grow larger and larger.
But... what binds humanity to the earth is not just humanity itself, but also... the Great Ones.
"Hoo—hiss—"
Weak, low breathing sounds enveloped Goki.
Opening his eyes, Goki saw the boundless Universe around him.
Blazing G-type stars, decaying and bloated red giants, flickering neutron stars, and all-consuming black holes... aside from battle moons and world-ending colossi, the abundant celestial bodies were like brilliant gems.
And, in vibrant colors, like a spilled palette, strange lights lingered and surrounded the stars. They were so beautiful, yet they sent shivers down one's spine—that was definitely not nebulae or dust.
Around Goki, star rings and asteroid belts encircled him. His skin even felt an icy chill and a boiling sensation, and the pressure from inside out threatened to tear him apart. Even his voice seemed trapped in his throat.
At this moment, Goki truly felt as if he were suspended in the vacuum of the Universe, boundless and desolate, possessing only a bone-chilling cold and loneliness.
But the next second, raging flames also erupted from Goki's body.
He knew this was all an illusion—he was no longer facing the straightforward brute, the God of Burning Wind, but another deity skilled in deceit and illusion...
"Come out, I know you're here. Won't you say hello?"
And so, against the backdrop of the Universe, a pair of profound eyes, like the Starry Sky itself, that made one feel they would be drawn into them, quickly opened.
In this illusory world, Goki finally had his first contact with this distant deity.
In an instant, countless jumbled pieces of knowledge and fleeting images were projected directly into Goki's mind. A sharp pain exploded from Goki's brain, making his expression instantly turn somewhat savage.
"Good hunter!"
Nona Doll's anxious voice appeared in Goki's ear, instantly recalling his somewhat dazed consciousness.
