Unlike natural disasters, which are naturally occurring, Originium contamination incidents are often man-made. When devices requiring large amounts of Originium energy experience safety issues, the safety officers and bosses will undoubtedly flee to Mars immediately.
Natural disasters can often be predicted and avoided by natural disaster scholars, but Originium contamination incidents are genuine man-made calamities.
Originium contamination is classified into five Ranks. A Rank Five contamination is a mild infection that at most contaminates a laboratory, and might not even cause infection. The scope of a Rank One contamination, however, would affect at least one district, and people in the central area might even die directly from acute oripathy.
Throughout Terra's history, various severe Originium contamination incidents have occurred.
A mobile city power core leak accident in Victoria led to all residents in a large district suffering from varying degrees of oripathy.
In Ursus, Originium leaks from heavy industrial factories are commonplace, and infected workers receive no compensation or subsidies.
Even the Flame Demon Incident, which no longer exists in this timeline, was an extremely severe Originium contamination incident.
Based on Goki's month of work and study experience in the Defense Department, if Ifrit had gone berserk according to the original plot, all the researchers in the Structure Department would have contracted oripathy, just like Silence and Ptilopsis.
There probably aren't many people in the world like Saria, who could subdue a berserk Ifrit alone and still remain healthy.
But now, even though the battle with the Great One has just ended, Goki and the others have to face another Originium contamination incident.

Tapping rapidly on her tablet with one hand, Kaltsit watched with a solemn expression as the gigantic humanoid creature, solidified like stone yet growing brighter and with increasingly long tentacles on its head, stood in the pouring rain. She calculated the energy generated by its Originium Arts.
"Strange, the energy index isn't very high, and the radiation intensity is only at Rank Four to Rank Three, but... the range is very large."
Kaltsit's cat ears twitched twice. She watched figures leap from the monster's body back into the building, then spoke to a soaking wet Goki.
"Should I say that sounds like good news? When I was in Sargon, that foolish brute condensed all its power into a single point. I genuinely felt like I was going to die then, but luckily, I'm quite capable."
Before Goki could shake off the water droplets on him, Muelsyse / Muir Sais, with a mischievous smile, directly siphoned them away.
Goki patted his dry clothes, took a deep breath, allowing the effects of the Monster Blood Pill to slowly fade. He and Kaltsit looked at the now lifeless, self-destructing, gigantic Celestial Envoy.
How to put it? After being hit hard by the God of Burning Wind earlier, nearly getting paralyzed, Goki had grown somewhat accustomed to the self-destruction of Great Ones.
