Chapter 92: You Stupid Lizard
Veldora had been talking to Varion for the last 45 minutes about manga and had five different stacks on the table, all of which he recommended to Varion. As he was reaching for another one of his "favorites", Raphael spoke into Varion's mind.
[Master, Luminous Valentine sent word through her subordinate Gunther earlier. She requested that you were to contact her upon awakening, it is recommended you speak with her soon. Given her personality, keeping her waiting may cause issues for you later.]
Varion closed the book in his hands. 'Yeah you're right, she can be a bit bratty if I keep her waiting.' he thought amusedly about his newest lover.
"Alright, I have to go talk to someone for a second. I'll be right back." he said as he stood up and stretched.
Veldora spoke up immediately "but, what about the holy scriptures?" he said almost pathetically.
"We can read more later, veldora, promise it's something I have to take care of." Varion said to soothe his uncle.
"Then we shall delve into them in depth later my nephew!! It shall be glorious!" He said exaggeratedly then flopped back onto the couch fully losing himself in the fiction.
All 3 of them looked at Veldora strangely then ignored his strangeness. He looked at Rimuri and Prinz and gave each a kiss on the cheek.
"I'll be back in a few minutes." he said casually.
"Ok, have fun." Rimuri said before going back to her own book, not worried in the slightest.
Prinz on the other hand was far more curious. "Who are you going to talk to?"
"I'll introduce you guys to her later, ok?" Varion said placatingly.
When he said that Prinz's expression became more curious, it was also like he had confirmed what she had been wondering.
"Ok, just introduce us soon. I'd rather you not just go get another lover and keep them hidden from us." She said with a teasing smirk.
Varion was surprised and quickly tried to correct her. "I wasn't hiding anything, prinz you know I wouldn't-" then he saw the teasing look on her face and huffed. "You're impossible sometimes." He said playfully.
He walked out and to the next empty room over. After he shut the door, he opened a gate, finding it far easier than ever before and directly to Luminous with just a thought.
When the other side became visible the first thing he saw was Luminous's face staring at him with her normal regal look but he knew her enough to tell she was worried.
"Hey Luminous I was-" he started to say but she cut him off.
"Open it fully, I'm coming through, now." she said demandingly and with such forcefulness that it surprised him a bit honestly. But he did so anyway, expanding it easily to a size more than big enough for her to walk through. Within the blink of an eye she was through the gate, it quickly closed without either of them noticing.
She reached forward and grasped the front of his shirt, while placing her other hand over his heart, like she needed proof of him still being ok. Then she looped her arms around his neck and pulled him down into a deep kiss.
Lust energy moved. He felt the skill slide through him, past skin, past muscle, through his magicules, looking for any damage she could find. He didn't block it, instead he kissed her back, both of his hands settling on her ass, and lifted her against him. She made a low sound into his mouth. He walked until his legs hit the couch and sat down, pulling her into his lap, closer than before.
Then she froze. He felt the exact moment she found the strained and damaged sections in his soul. Her hands tightened on his neck and she deepened the kiss pushing her skill to produce more Lust energy to pour into him. An energy full of life and warmth spread through him aimed at his soul to try and heal the damage but it stopped cold before it could achieve its goal.
A voice spoke in her head that wasn't Varion's; it was flat, feminine, and slightly cold.
[Unnecessary. Current parameters have been set and optimized for maximum efficiency. Foreign energy will only delay the process.]
There was a brief pause before it spoke again slightly warmer.
[Thank you for attempting to help Master.]
Luminous went still against his mouth. Then she kissed him harder, arms locked behind his neck, and broke it only to press her face into his chest. 'At least it's already being healed.' she thought to herself.
"You are not allowed to die," she said into his shirt. "You are mine. Whatever you did was stupid, really stupid and you're also an idiot."
Varion's hand stayed on her back. "Yeah. I am." His voice was quiet. "But you love that about me."
She laughed once very softly, not lifting her head.
"Yes," she said. "Yes, I do, dear."
Luminous sat up slowly.
Her earlier worry was replaced by a look he knew well. A hungry look settled in her eyes and a seductive smirk came with it. She reached for the first button of his shirt and slowly slipped it free.
Varion shivered at the intensity in her gaze before collecting himself. He reached up and gently caught her nose between two fingers and playfully pinched it.
"No. Down, girl."
Her eyes narrowed. He was the one who had put her in his lap. He knew exactly what that did to her, and he had the nerve to stop her.
She huffed. "You started this."
"I did." His hand stayed where it was a second longer, then dropped. "And as much as I would love to finish it, there are some people I want you to meet that are important to me."
That cut through the annoyance she felt and she instantly realized he was referring to his lovers.
Luminous stood and smoothed her dress, then slipped back into her regal persona. She huffed at him. "You will pay for that later. For now…" She sighed, put-upon. "I guess you are right, it can't wait until later. We also have a Walpurgis meeting in a few hours."
Then her gaze became intense. "But after that you are going to entertain me." She said with dead seriousness.
Varion got up and offered his arm. "As you wish my lady, shall we go?" he said teasingly. She took his arm in hers and allowed him to escort her.
On the walk there she straightened her posture and went over all the different ways she thought this talk could go. His other lovers were his so she had to treat them as equals in that regard. But she would be Luminous Valentine, a regal, perfect, goddess that was above any possible petty fights that may happen.
Varion opened the door and she froze.
Her enemy, the bane of her existence, Veldora was sprawled across the couch with a book open on his chest, loudly eating and being obnoxious.
Every thought of being the proper infallible goddess left her head.
Luminous lunged at him without another thought.
Veldora screamed the most girly way Varion had ever heard. He went over the back of the couch in a tangle of limbs and manga, the book he had been reading hit the floor and his food was thrown into the air.
Varion managed to catch her around the waist before she cleared the table and pulled her into his chest. She thrashed against his hold trying to get to Veldora. "Get over here, you overgrown gecko! Let me skin you alive, you bastard!"
"L-Luminous—" He took a step back with her in his arms, more confused than anything, because she was actually trying to kill him. "Why are you trying to kill my uncle?"
"That bastard burned my capital city Night Rose to the ground!" She kicked and scratched trying and failing to get free. "Let me go, Varion. Let me kill him!"
Off to the side Rimuri made a startled sound at the news. While Prinz sat there casually drinking her tea watching in amusement.
Luminous went still, she had forgotten why they came here initially, and just remembered the room had other people in it.
Veldora's head rose over the back of it. "Is the crazy lady done yet?"
She growled at him glaring as if that alone could kill him.
Rimuri looked at Luminous then Veldora and narrowed her eyes. "Veldoraaa… Did you destroy her city?~"
Veldora glanced around avoiding eye contact with his friend. "Maybe? That was a long time ago. I do not really remember."
"Yes, yes he did, " Luminous said. She had stopped thrashing now trying to maintain some semblance of dignity. She stood there in Varion's arms glaring at him. "That overgrown lizard burned it completely to the ground 2,000 years ago. The only reason none of my people died is because I was warned before he arrived and evacuated them."
Rimuri's eyebrow twitched and a vein pulsed on her forehead. "Apologize, now."
"W-what? I— why" he complained.
She didn't answer, she just kept staring him down. He shrunk and avoided looking at the disappointed look she was giving him.
Veldora wilted, then his shoulders slumped. "I am sorry I guess?" He said in a small voice.
Rimuri's palm met her forehead audibly, making a smacking sound. While Varion and Prinz looked at him like he was stupid and sweat dropped.
Luminous on the other hand was just done, deciding he wasn't worth wasting time on him anymore. She shot him one last glare before looking away from him and towards Rimuri and Prinz.
"I'm sorry you had to see…. That. It was very undignified of me." She said diplomatically.
"No no no, I'm sorry about Veldora, he's….. a handful." Rimuri said pathetically.
"HEY!" Veldora yelled from the side offended.
"Yes it's quite ok, I don't blame you for your outburst. I would be very upset if someone destroyed my home as well." Prinz said
"Ahem, yes well I suppose introductions are in order. I am Demon Lord Luminous Valentine, and I am Varion's wife." She said with pride tilting her chin up.
That caught the other two women's attention. Calling herself his wife without even knowing them was bold of her. Prinz shared a look with Rimuri then Luminous herself, silently communicating that the 3 of them needed to have a talk about that.
"How about we head to the other room and have some girl talk." Prinz asked politely with a sweet smile on her face.
Varion stiffened then being the smart man he is noped right out of that situation instantly. He turned and walked towards where Veldora had laid back out on the couch and was hesitantly reading again.
He looked up and spotted his nephew walking over. "Hey varion please keep the scary lady away- ooof." He was cut off half way when Varion elbow dropped him in the stomach landing square on top of him and knocking the air out of Veldora.
"Whyyyy." He let out a whimper as the 3 girls walked past them, with Luminous smirking at Veldora's plight.
