The Dungeon Authority building looked exactly the same as it had a month ago. The same soul crushing atmosphere and clipboard-wielding drones shuffling between offices with the enthusiasm of someone waiting for a slow internet connection to load.
Kurt walked in alongside Rook, Emma, Cassandra, and Lizzie, and immediately felt the same bureaucratic oppression settle over him.
"Right then," Kurt muttered, lighting a cigarette before remembering where he was. A nearby official glared at him, and he stubbed it out with a sigh. "Let's get this over with."
The receptionist, a different woman this time, thankfully, directed them to the Evaluation Wing without looking up from her screen. They filed through the sterile corridors until they reached the familiar chamber lined with glowing E-E Crystals.
Rook stepped forward first, rolling his shoulders. "I'll go first."
