Everyone fell to their knees as they watched Hugurou die. They were frozen. The giant struck, but Neblaheim and Leiofa caught the blow, their voices cracking as they screamed, "THIS IS NO TIME TO BE MOURNING!"
Arin surged back to his feet and leapt toward Hiofekus. He hurled his sword with everything he had, but Hiofekus parried the blade with casual indifference. In that moment of contact, a memory tore through the god's mind.
A man stood tall before the Sovereign of Light. "I will never worship a god who rules through terror," he said. Hiofekus didn't hesitate; he drove a fist into the man's stomach, the impact shattering the body in a spray of blood. A second man threw a sword; Hiofekus caught it out of the air and sliced him in half.
The scene shifted. Hiofekus hovered in the void, his mouth moving in a silent incantation. A spell of light draped across the entire sky before splintering into a million shimmering lances. The barrage shot upward, impaling a giant. In retaliation, the giant swung a blade that phased through the planet's crust. Hiofekus teleported away just as the world was sheared in two and consumed by the blast.
The scene shifted again to the trial.
"Why did you destroy an entire planet?" a god asked.
"They refused to worship us," Hiofekus replied. "So I killed them."
"You have become too hard to control," an unknown figure spoke.
The Goddess of Creation stood. "Hiofekus, Sovereign of the God's Light, you are hereby banished from the gods' chamber and stripped of your power."
In a flash, Hiofekus appeared behind a god who had ridiculed him. He swung his sword, but the other gods' magic caught him just in time. The Goddess of Creation warned him never to do it again.
The vision snapped shut. Hiofekus parried Arin's follow-up strike as the others swarmed him, throwing themselves into the chaos just to buy Arin one last opening.
