The rooftops were filled with Gods acting like armchair generals. Cassandra bowed and apologized as she swung her staff, knocking addicts left and right. Daphne moved like a storm, her rapier a blur of lightning strikes.
Lili, protected in the center, stared with her mouth agape. She saw people who had bullied her for years being harvested like weeds. This was the true power of high-level adventurers.
"Come out!" Roy roared.
Zzzzt! Zzzzt! Roy unleashed his magic, turning a ten-meter radius into a sea of golden lightning. Twenty lightning constructs—wolves, tigers, and bears the size of Minotaurs—leapt from the light.
The onlookers gasped. They had heard of Roy's "summoning" magic, but seeing it was different. With this, numbers were irrelevant. Furthermore, people realized a terrifying fact: his summons were only one level below him. If he reached Level 7, he could summon a hundred Level 6 monsters. He was a one-man army.
The Soma Familia broke. They had never even defeated a Minotaur in the Dungeon; facing these lightning beasts was their nightmare.
"Mages! Fire!" Zanis screamed.
Dozens of spells—fire, ice, and wind—streaked through the air toward Roy. The Gods leaned in. How would he handle this?
"To me!"
Roy commanded, and his twenty lightning beasts leapt into the air, merging into a single, forty-meter-long golden sword of energy. Roy swung the massive blade, its sheer pressure shattering every incoming spell in mid-air.
BOOM!!
The night sky was lit by the multi-colored explosions of neutralized magic. Silence fell over the district. Even Daphne and Cassandra were dazed. It was too violent, too overwhelming.
Roy didn't stop. He blurred through the crowd toward Zanis. "Wait! Justice Sapling, that was just a warning—"
Whoosh! The forty-meter sword slammed into the ground inches from Zanis. The shockwave split the pavement and sent Zanis's heart into his throat. His pants were suddenly wet. Roy grabbed him by the neck and hoisted him up.
"Drop your weapons! Everyone, get down!" Roy's voice boomed.
The battle was over. Lyu walked over, dragging several unconscious executives. The massive Soma Familia had been suppressed by a handful of people.
"Justice Sapling, you..." Zanis tried to speak, but Roy sent a jolt of electricity into his throat, destroying his vocal cords. Zanis could only open his mouth in a silent scream of terror.
