Gregoris went utterly still for a moment, then turned his head, silver eyes scanning Rafael's face for any hint of a joke.
He found none. Only a soft, earnest certainty, and beneath it, a heat that was already starting to simmer.
"You're serious," Gregoris stated, his voice a low rumble.
Rafael's lips curved. "When am I not serious about you?"
"Frequently."
"Not about this." Rafael shifted, turning to face him fully on the bed. The loose robe gaped, revealing a smooth, pale chest, and the faint scent of his omega sweetness intensified, wrapping around Gregoris's senses. "I've been thinking about it for a while."
Gregoris' hand, which had been resting on Rafael's back, slid up to cup the nape of his neck, long, elegant fingers running through the strands. "The process was… extensive."
"I'm reminding you," Rafael whispered, his eyes glittering. "The process is rather enjoyable."
