Chapter 34 Trap
Half an hour ago, the third basement level of the isolated island mansion.
In an environment where light and Shadow intertwined, every inconspicuous Shadow could potentially hide a dangerous monster, and every corner and nook could conceal a deadly threat.
Unbeknownst to them, the once intense sounds of battle gradually weakened, becoming almost inaudible by now.
"Are all those mercenaries dead?"
A thought flashed through Raven's mind as she vigilantly observed her surroundings.
Those monsters, called Xenomorphs, moved like ghosts and loved to ambush from the Shadows.
Since encountering the first Xenomorph, she had been attacked more than ten times and had killed over twenty Xenomorphs.
If it weren't for her enhanced senses, she might have already been injured.
However, the current situation was becoming increasingly dangerous because the Xenomorphs appearing were getting stronger, and some had even begun to exhibit various superpowers.
Monsters, mercenaries, vague mission intel… Raven's eyes flickered with contemplation.
Just then, she heard a faint, almost imperceptible scraping sound.
Raven's eyes turned cold, and she said to Deadpool, "Be careful!"
Deadpool gave a flippant whistle, but his hand was already on his sword hilt.
"Yeah, gotta be careful. If I lose another arm, I'll have to use my foot to jerk off."
Deadpool muttered softly.
In his last fight with a Xenomorph, just as he was about to kill it, the Xenomorph's body twisted like a snake and bit off one of his hands.
If Raven hadn't kicked the Xenomorph away, it would have been his entire arm.
The next second, Raven shifted a step sideways without any warning.
Bang!
A striking sound echoed in the air, as if something had rapidly bounced off the air.
"It's that monster's inner jaw!"
A thought flashed through Raven's mind.
After fighting Xenomorphs dozens of times, she was already familiar with their various attack methods.
But, this time the Xenomorph was invisible?
Another superpowered Xenomorph?
Raven's heart jolted, and she quickly moved from her spot.
The Xenomorph's mouth contained a smaller mouth that could spring out with terrifying force, enough to easily pierce a human body.
Bang, bang, bang!
Almost the second Raven moved, Deadpool fired a volley of bullets into the air.
The scattered bullets covered a wide area.
"Hiss!"
The invisible Xenomorph cried out in pain, and a stream of yellowish-green acid blood shot out from its body.
Puff!
The acid blood landed on the wall, leaving a corrosive mark.
Raven landed a punch, and the Xenomorph was sent flying, hissing in pain.
Deadpool immediately followed up with a grenade, using their most effective combo to kill Xenomorphs.
Boom!
A violent explosion echoed in the corridor, but… no shredded flesh?!
Neither of them hesitated and immediately gave chase.
Xenomorphs had to be killed in one go, otherwise, they would learn from their mistakes and launch ambushes in more covert ways, or even bring more Xenomorphs.
They had already experienced this.
"I'll go first!"
Raven said coldly, her voice still lingering as she vanished before Deadpool.
"Ah! Even her back is so cool!"
Deadpool clutched his heart and exclaimed, then quickly chased down the corridor.
But when he turned the corner and ran to the middle of the corridor, a Xenomorph crawled out of the Shadows, blocking his path.
The Xenomorph was slender, the kind he could easily slice in half with a single swing of his blade.
"Get out of my way! You useless new recruit, Steve!"
Deadpool cursed under his breath, brandishing his blade and charging at it.
But the next second, he recoiled as if electrocuted, leaping backward and turning to run.
The Xenomorph began to inflate like a balloon, filling the entire corridor.
"Fuck! So you're Hulk!"
Deadpool wailed, sprinting back the way he came.
Puff, puff!
A gushing sound of Water echoed behind Deadpool.
Deadpool looked back and saw streams of yellowish-green blood continuously spewing from the bloated Xenomorph's body, corroding everything around it.
Even worse, several hideous Xenomorphs quietly appeared at the entrance of the corridor.
"Fuck, fuck!"
Deadpool cursed under his breath.
Although he wasn't afraid of those Xenomorphs and could deal with them given a little time, in the current situation, if he got entangled, even for a few seconds, the bloated superpowered Xenomorph behind him could douse him thoroughly with acid blood.
"Cover your ears!"
A cold shout suddenly rang out behind those Xenomorphs.
Deadpool quickly dropped to the ground and covered his ears.
"Ahhh!"
Piercing screams accompanied by violent sound waves echoed in the corridor. Blood immediately oozed from Deadpool's facial orifices, and he even felt as if his head was about to explode.
And those Xenomorphs, which relied on ultrasonic waves for navigation and were extremely sensitive to sound waves, lost their ability to move amidst their painful shrieks. Even the bloated Xenomorph stopped spewing acid blood.
The next second, the Mutant named Angel flapped his transparent insect wings and flew towards Deadpool, simultaneously spitting corrosive saliva at the Xenomorphs.
The acid droplets accurately landed on the Xenomorphs' heads like bullets, melting holes into their skulls.
"Go!"
Angel grabbed Deadpool's hand and pulled him out of the corridor.
Deadpool shook his head; after his ruptured eardrums healed, his dizzy head returned to normal.
"Fall back!"
With a cold shout, Riptide stood in front of everyone. As the acid-blood Xenomorph spewed acid blood again, he violently waved his hand at the corridor.
A strong gust of wind suddenly rose, blowing the acid blood back.
The next second, Riptide's hand skin secreted a large amount of special substance. After hardening into something as sharp as a blade, it, along with the tornado he threw, sucked the acid Xenomorph into it.
Several seconds later, a large amount of acid blood mixed into the tornado, as if turning the tornado yellowish-green.
"Go!"
Riptide waved his hand, and the nauseating acid-blood tornado flew towards the end of the corridor, then dissipated into a gust of wind.
Riptide, Angel, and Banshee.
Deadpool looked at the three and said fawningly, "How about we team up? As long as you agree, I'll do whatever it takes!"
Banshee's eye twitched, and he explained helplessly, "We saved you to gather everyone's strength. Only then can we survive."
"Right, right!"
Deadpool nodded eagerly.
"Where are your companions?"
Angel asked curiously.
"We got separated."
Deadpool shrugged and grinned at the three, "You guys are so powerful, I'm sticking with you!"
On the other side, after Raven caught up to and killed the invisible Xenomorph, she found herself surrounded by several Xenomorphs.
These Xenomorphs not only looked distinctly different from ordinary Xenomorphs but also gave her a dangerous feeling.
If she wasn't mistaken, these were all superpowered Xenomorphs.
"Was that Xenomorph just now a decoy?"
Raven murmured in surprise. Seeing the Xenomorphs charging at her, a look of solemnity appeared on her face.
"This is going to be a tough fight!"
If only Lynn were here… Meanwhile, Lynn was on his way.
