Stood atop one of the Fallen Isles, not far from the island the Human Emperor was protecting.
The island was engulfed in the chaos of a brutal war.
At its center...
The human forces fought desperately to defend their homeland.
From every direction...
The armies of demons attacked without pause, until smoke and flames covered the skies above the island.
As for the mysterious figure...
They stood high above the battlefield, silently watching the war unfold.
Then their gaze shifted toward the distant island protected by the Human Emperor.
In a cold, deadly voice, they said,
"I won't let you live to see another day."
The moment those words were spoken...
A dense black power erupted from their body, spreading at an astonishing speed until it engulfed the entire island.
That dark energy then seeped into the bodies of both humans and demons alike.
At first...
None of them noticed anything.
They continued fighting as though nothing had happened.
But...
A few moments later...
Their bodies began to change.
Humans and demons alike suddenly transformed into grotesque black creatures with horrifying and twisted forms.
Cries of agony echoed throughout the island.
Chaos and terror spread everywhere.
Everyone screamed in unbearable pain as their bodies warped and broke apart in horrifying ways.
But...
Only a few seconds later...
The screams came to an abrupt end.
Silence fell over the entire island.
Nothing remained except thousands of grotesque creatures standing motionless, as though all will had been stripped from them.
The mysterious figure calmly raised a hand.
In the next instant...
Every one of those twisted monsters dissolved into black smoke.
The smoke surged upward into the sky...
Then flowed entirely into the mysterious figure's body.
The mysterious figure remained perfectly still until the last trace of the black smoke had been absorbed.
Then they raised their head toward the heavens.
And laughed coldly.
Afterward...
They shot toward the island where the Human Emperor resided at incredible speed.
This time...
It would be impossible for him to receive aid from the rulers of the other races as he had before.
The war had reached its fiercest stage.
Every great power in the world was occupied with battles of its own.
Every race was now fighting for its very survival.
And so...
The mysterious figure seized that chaos as the perfect opportunity to carry out the plan they had been preparing for a very long time.
Meanwhile...
On the Fallen Isle protected by the King of the Merfolk...
The king looked at the messenger who had informed him that his daughter had entered Treasure Island using the Ocean Crystal and had successfully infiltrated it to steal its treasures.
The moment he heard the report...
A broad smile spread across his face.
He said happily,
"I expected nothing less from my daughter."
The King of the Merfolk was overjoyed.
The rest of his people shared his excitement, believing that her plan had succeeded.
But...
None of them knew...
That she was now a prisoner of Asgard.
Meanwhile...
High in the skies, where Odin continued battling Medusa...
Odin looked at Medusa, whose body had grown to an utterly terrifying size.
He let out a cold chuckle.
Then said,
"If you think your size alone will bring you victory... you're mistaken."
The moment he finished speaking...
A cold smile appeared on Medusa's face.
Suddenly...
The countless serpents covering her head lunged toward Odin.
Odin did not fear the attack itself.
What he feared...
Was the curse carried within the eyes of those serpents.
He sensed the danger.
Therefore...
He decided to fight with his full power.
In a single instant...
A terrifying aura erupted from his body.
He stepped off the back of his winged steed and stood alone in the sky.
His aura continued growing denser and more overwhelming.
Then...
The entire sky erupted into chaos.
Dark clouds gathered.
Thunder roared.
The winds raged.
Cyclones formed.
Rain poured from the heavens.
Snow began to fall.
It was as though the sky itself had entered the battlefield.
At that moment...
Medusa felt something she had never experienced before.
She felt...
As though the heavens themselves had cursed her.
As though the entire world had turned against her.
Suddenly...
Every movement she made became slower.
Her power was restrained.
She could feel the air, the clouds, the wind, and even the lightning resisting her, trying to hold her back.
Medusa frowned deeply.
But she did not retreat.
Instead...
She intensified her assault.
Even more serpents burst forth from her head, charging toward Odin in overwhelming numbers.
Odin watched as the serpents drew near.
Then he let out a quiet laugh.
He raised his hand.
Suddenly...
A gigantic hand formed from clouds and raging winds.
It stretched across the sky...
And seized every serpent at once.
In the next instant...
A devastating bolt of lightning descended from the heart of the heavens.
It struck the serpents directly.
Annihilating every last one of them.
Odin calmly watched the serpents perish.
Then he dispersed the hand of clouds.
He lifted his gaze toward Medusa.
Clear signs of frustration were written across her face as she watched her serpents die.
But...
Within moments...
New serpents began growing from her head once again at an astonishing speed.
Odin let out a quiet sigh.
He continued using his dominion over the heavens, pressing his power down upon Medusa and restraining her movements more and more.
Then he spoke calmly,
"It seems... this battle won't be ending anytime soon."
