Odin looked at Medusa...
Then a terrifying smile spread across his face.
In a calm voice laced with cruel mockery, he said,
"Oh..."
"It seems you're quite heartless, Medusa."
"Don't you want to see your daughter again?"
Medusa's eyes widened.
Before she could utter a single word...
Before she could even ask how he knew about her daughter...
Or how he had discovered her identity...
Odin suddenly projected a vision through his spiritual power.
The vision manifested in the sky before Medusa.
Within it...
She saw Odin's raven sitting beside her daughter, who had now grown into a young woman, quietly comforting her.
Medusa's entire body trembled.
Her eyes filled with fear and panic.
She finally realized that the raven which had stayed by her daughter's side since childhood had been an enemy in disguise all along.
The shock was so overwhelming...
That her grip on the sacred spear loosened without her even noticing.
At that very moment...
Odin seized the opportunity.
He extended his hand toward the spear.
Then controlled it from afar.
The instant the spear returned to his grasp...
He decided to do something he had never done before.
He closed his eyes.
Then began infusing the spear with the very power of the heavens.
Suddenly...
A terrifying blue celestial aura erupted from Odin's body.
The entire sky was flooded with azure light.
The power of the heavens completely merged into the spear.
Then...
Something happened that neither Odin...
Nor Medusa...
Nor any being in the world had ever expected.
The spear began devouring the power of the heavens with insatiable hunger.
As though it had been starving for it for ages.
It continued absorbing that power...
Until its appearance changed completely.
Its aura transformed.
It was no longer merely a sacred weapon.
It had become a weapon fit for a Ruler.
A weapon that could only be wielded by the mightiest beings in the world.
It now stood on the same level as the Archangel's spear...
And the Demon King's sword.
The power of the heavens had granted it a will of its own.
The weapon itself had become bound to the power of the heavens...
Answering to Odin alone.
Odin looked at the spear.
Then smiled a frightening smile.
In a quiet voice, he said,
"Yes..."
"At last..."
"My old friend..."
"Gungnir."
The moment he spoke that name...
He raised his gaze toward Medusa.
She remained where she stood.
She did not move.
She did not attack him.
It was not because she feared him.
She feared that if she attacked, Odin would harm her daughter through his raven.
So she merely stared at him.
Her eyes burned with hatred and fury.
Deep within her heart...
She wished she still possessed her full strength.
So that she could kill him...
Before he even thought of approaching her daughter.
But...
Fate often mocks those who challenge it.
Odin laughed coldly.
Then said,
"Farewell..."
"Little serpent."
The next instant...
He tightened his grip on the spear now known as Gungnir.
Then hurled it at Medusa with all his might.
Medusa did not defend herself.
Nor did she attempt to flee.
The spear pierced straight through her chest.
The moment it embedded itself within her body...
A devastating celestial aura erupted from it.
It spread throughout her entire body.
Destroying her internal organs from within.
Then...
It began dismantling her body...
Little by little...
Until she was reduced to white ash.
The wind scattered the ashes across the sky.
Odin silently watched the drifting ashes.
But...
Instead of feeling relieved...
He frowned deeply.
He was exhausted beyond measure.
Even so...
His instincts told him only one thing.
"She's not dead..."
His frown deepened.
He stretched out his hand.
Gungnir immediately answered his call, returning to his grasp in an instant.
Although he still did not know the limits of its newfound power...
He could already feel that the spear had changed forever.
Afterward...
He summoned his winged horse, which he had earlier ordered to leave the battlefield.
Within moments...
The horse arrived before him.
The instant Odin mounted it...
He lost consciousness from sheer exhaustion.
The winged horse immediately sped away at tremendous speed, searching for a safe place where its master could recover his strength.
Meanwhile...
In the ocean beneath the place Odin had departed from...
The water rippled gently.
Then...
A small serpent emerged from the sea.
Its green eyes burned with fury.
It opened its mouth and muttered,
"I have to return to the Demon Continent..."
"Recover my strength..."
"Then personally kill that raven hiding beside my daughter..."
"With my own hands."
That tiny serpent...
Was none other than Medusa.
She had survived death...
But had lost most of her power.
She had never ordered the serpents guarding her daughter to attack Odin's raven from afar.
She feared...
That the raven might possess hidden abilities or unknown powers.
Therefore...
She decided she would deal with it herself once she had regained her strength.
Medusa burned with frustration.
She had failed to kill Odin.
She had failed to return to the battlefield and aid the demons against the angels.
And above all...
Her daughter, whom she had always kept at home out of fear for her safety, was now in grave danger because of her own negligence.
That...
More than anything else...
Was what fueled her overwhelming rage.
