Chapter 49 - Land Foundation

Though when I think about it that applies to everything I was going to get. The fabrication machines are large and heavy, which makes them difficult to move let alone steal.

However, to anyone that would care about them being upgraded it would be easy enough to steal them. Helicopter, large truck bashing through the fence and just taking them. It really wouldn't be that hard if you had the money.

The concern really is with the computer since it is so universally stolen. It is small, light weight and everyone knows it is valuable.

You would only need one guy to break in, have a look around and he would choose to take the computer 9 out of 10 times.

For anything else, people would have to know what it is, and that it was here. Which is unlikely.

Anyway, to get back on topic. I will limit the amount I make daily until I can fully corner the volatile market.

The next day. Thursday, October, 23.

Today the site surveyor was scheduled to come bright and early at 8:00. I was there waiting for him at 7:30.

He showed up at 7:45 and started pulling out a few instruments and devices to test some things. While he was working I had him measure out where the foundation needed to go for my plans. Which he happily did. By 8:00 he was done and packed up his things.

He said, "Welp, I'm done. All of the tests came back good and the ground has already been leveled. My guess is that it was leveled by the two bigger factories on either side when they were doing both of theirs. Probably got it cheaper to split the cost but grade the whole plot at once."

"Yeah, probably. I heard from the owner that my plot in the middle was a paperwork error. So, it shouldn't have existed from the beginning."

"Seems like you got a good deal then."

"Oh, yeah I did."

"Welp, that's all from me, you have a good one."

"Yep, you too. Take it easy."

With that the surveyor left and I sent a text to the excavation guy that he was good to come when he was ready.

About an hour later the guy shows up hauling his medium sized excavator. He hopped out of his truck and asked, "Well, what needs diggin'?"

I pulled out the blueprints the building company gave me for the foundation and handed them over. He said, "sweet man this looks easy, I'll be done in no time."

"Where is the dump truck?"

"Oh, Greg? He's commin', he's a bit light in the foot department. He's not in too much of a hurry."

When the dump truck got here they got to work digging out the foundation, trenching in where the water and sewer lines would go, and scraping off the top layer of grass from the job site.

While they were doing that, 9:30 approached, I put on my AR glasses and used the remote access to start the AI.

I had already limited each account to start with $50,000 or $1,900,000 total.

They were finished by 11:00

I told the foundation guys that the hole was dug and that they could start when they wanted.

They were originally scheduled for tomorrow but you never know they might have an opening.

I got a text back saying that half of the guys could come out at 1:00. Because they only had a morning job.

The other half couldn't, they were booked solid.

…

I went to get lunch and came back to meet the guys at 1:00

When they showed up they had multiple trucks filled with rebar and metal mesh.

These guys worked from 1:00 in the afternoon to 10:00 at night and said that they would be back in the morning at 6:00.

I just wanted to yell, "screw off you undead bastards." How do they have so much energy?

But they managed to put in all of the rebar and metal mesh. Tomorrow they will start the day by putting in the gravel at the bottom of the foundation and the slabs both interior and exterior.

When I got home I checked the stock earnings. $1,900,000 to $11,687,996.30. Each account $307,578.85.

A grand total of $19,869,885.22.

I noticed that the earnings seemed to dip a little bit towards the end of the day. I think I'll still run the stocks tomorrow but I won't touch the market the next week.

I need to let things return to normal for the time being.

The next day I was at the site early, 5:45. My eyes stung and I was irritable from a lack of sleep.

At 6:00 on the dot they all started showing up. By 6:30 things were in full swing as everyone was busy throwing gravel around and compacting it down. The green laser levels shine brightly in the presunrise blue.

I was just another one of the guys as I helped to install the culvert along the road.

At 9:30 I started the AI remotely again with the same $50,000 limit per account.

We finished with the foundation and all of the slabs at 11:45 at night.

The people that installed the water and sewage came and went while we were working. They were done in 3 hours.

The only break I had was when I went and bought lunch for everyone.

I got home and looked at the stock earnings again.

$1,900,000 to $8,765,997.22. Noticeably less than yesterday. People are starting to pull out of these stocks, which has made the other volatile stocks way more active.

I wonder if I can use this to my advantage?

Either way tomorrow is Saturday and I have nothing planned for that day, at least I didn't until I got a text.

From Layla, "Hey, do you want to go pick pumpkins tomorrow?"
