Chapter 56 - Pumpkin Date [5] Final

Layla seemed to be aggrieved as she pounded on my chest, but what she did next stunned me.

She grabbed my collar, pulled me down, and kissed me on the cheek saying, "You really need to stop pushing your luck."

I respond cheekily, "What can I say? I'm mischievous."

"Ha, more like down right childish. I'm going inside now."

"Ok, Good night."

"Good night."

I watched Layla go inside and then got into the car to drive home.

When I got home mom was still awake and waiting for me.

I wanted to slip into my office and work a little more before going to sleep, however mom had other plans.

She came downstairs before I even had the chance to change my shoes.

Mom said, "So, Layla huh? She's really pretty. Are you sure you can handle that?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean girls that pretty, usually have baggage, in one form or another."

"I would say most people have their own problems."

"I guess that's fair, but I heard that you were planning to start some kind of business with her. And you have already spent a lot of money. Was that a lie or did you take on some kind of debt?"

"I thought you would have known me better than that."

"I thought I did too. But this whole thing doesn't sound like something you would do."

"I guess that's true."

"So which is it?"

"Well… neither?" I finished changing my shoes and walked to my office then said, "Look, I was going to tell you on Wednesday but I guess it really doesn't matter now."

Mom walked over to the office, looked in, and gasped, "What in the world is all of this?"

"Look mom, I said that I made a little off of the stock market right? Well I made a little more than that."

"How much did you make exactly?"

"I was planning to tell you that on Wednesday because I am planning on taking a pretty big gamble on Tuesday. But currently I have over $28,000,000."

Mom stood there, frozen. It seemed like forever until she spoke, "Huh? What? Does that make any kind of sense? Am I supposed to believe that?"

"Believe it or not, that's the truth. Here let me sign in to my bank account."

I pulled up the site and signed in. Then I turned the monitor around to show mom.

Mom was stunned for a moment before exclaiming, "Holy Frijoles! It's real."

"Yes. Yes it is."

"Wait. Then why do you want to gamble it? That's just stupid."

"I say gamble but it's not really a risk. Because I am playing both sides. A win-win situation. Because I will make money regardless of the outcome."

"How do you figure that?"

"Because I know that the stocks are going to rise, I also know that they are going to fall. I just don't know by how much or when it will happen. But I can make a pretty good guess by using previous data and examples."

"I know I don't know much about data and stocks, but that still seems like a pretty big gamble."

"Yeah, I guess it is. But the worst that could happen is that nothing happens. However, I would still make money, just not nearly as much. I win in every scenario."

"I think you're getting a bit big headed."

"Ha, yeah, you're probably right. But either way there's no need to worry. I have everything under control and I won't use all of the money."

"Sigh. As long as you're sure then there is nothing I can say."

After mom said that she turned and went back upstairs.

With mom gone I got back into work and looked into how market crashes can be utilized for my own profit.

I know it sounds bad, but if the crash is going to happen anyway why not be the one to profit?

I let the AI run its test and simulations but the data available didn't really make me confident. Since the only way to be 100% sure of when they would crash the market is to hack into their servers and find out.

But that could alert them and make them pull out of whatever plan they currently have. The less variables the better.

Tomorrow I would have the metal warehouse installed, I used quick dry concrete just for this reason. The warehouse is made out of aluminum and doesn't even weigh 10,000 Pounds so the concrete will definitely hold it.

I also ordered a small fabrication machine, it was on sale for $12,999.00. That along with a scissor lift drained the remaining $18,770 I had left.

The fabrication machine can do CNC Gantry Cutting, Laser Welding, Laser Cleaning, Handheld Cutting, CO2 Laser Cutting, CO2 Laser Engraving, Rolling and Bending Metal.

The Laser Cutting can cut up to 4,000 inches a minute and with an accuracy of 0.001in or 1/1000 of an inch.

However, the best part?

It had both CAD Programming and an AI intelligent material library.

What does that mean? Well the CAD means Computer Assisted Design. Which really translates to 3D modeling.

The AI material library. Is an AI driven library that can discover, analyze, and manage materials. They can even predict material properties by running simulated experiments, and organizing vast datasets.

This will really come in handy with the car renovations.

I plan on buying higher end machines for the part creation process.

I can already picture it now. The advanced machines scanning my upgraded technology and then reproducing them.

I will be able to corner tech development and monopolize the tech market.

While I am a little worried about what the tech billionaires will do I don't plan on coming out swinging.

I will be a creeping ivy slowly working my way into the tech market before taking over completely.

Once I had done all that I could I decided that it was time to go to sleep.
