I got distracted while looking at Bali'ahah and started going down a rabbit hole. As it turns out Bali'ahah actually had some worthwhile offers.
The things offered on Bali'ahah were not fake, just older models. Most of the ones I looked at had The Empires Union or the EU for short, certificate of authenticity.
While looking through the site I realized that semiconductor machines had a wider variety than I previously thought. They didn't just make memory chips, I found one list for a full solar panel production line for $100,000.
What I found interesting was that all of these fully automated production lines were being sold by the same company based in Xia.
It is well known that Xia is the best producer in the world, but that their semiconductor technology was lagging behind The United Federation of Amerika.
So, while these are cheap they are probably 2 generations behind the current market in The Federation.
Which really means that a week and a half of upgrades will put it ahead. That's not bad.
However, I found where the catch is, these production lines are just to put the pieces together, not to make the whole product.
Which I knew, but I guess my excitement got the better of me.
The excitement of a bargain, scary.
Solar panels need photovoltaic modules which are made of silicone.
Another silicone product. If I can get a 3D printer to be able to print all of this out I will be able to make just about any technology it seems.
An industrial silicone 3D printer is $200,000 for a top tier one. While looking for a photolithography machine I found a used model that was used for research going for $300,000.
While looking into it, I found that these older models use completely different systems to make chips.
From what I know of my ability it makes the technology better, but doesn't really change it from its base system.
However, the computer has gotten impossibly better while seemingly changing its system or base components. So, I do wonder if the machine could change from Deep Ultra Violet to Extreme Ultra Violet and change the refraction system?
So to sum up what I have gone through. The 3D printer will make the base of the silicone chips, the photolithography machine will imprint circuit patterns. Then an Ion Implantation machine injects chemicals to make the silicone alter its electrical properties and form transistors. Then there is stacking and polishing.
That is just the memory chip. Then to make the RAM stick you need the circuit board which is the easy part. You just need either fiberglass or epoxy, copper, solder mask, silkscreen, and then the other components like the memory chip.
My head hurts, I feel like I have been studying for hours.
Because all of that work was to determine if I could spend $300,000 for a cheap and inferior option or pay the full $150,000,000 for a modern option that I really need.
If I think about the future then I need to spend the money. Because it will help me out more in the long run.
The problem is if I get the modern one with the full automated high speed production line that would be $155,200,000 just for the machines. That doesn't include the space, material, advertising, workers, whatever permits, or the utilities.
I would have $6,919,917.44 left to get everything else.
That actually seems possible. Huh, I really wasn't expecting that.
That is quite the gamble though.
But if I really think about the future it is a good decision. If I ever decide to start making VR I am going to need lots of memory chips, in fact if I start making any technology I will need them.
Actually If I just start making my own large AI server farm I could use all the RAM I make without having to buy them from outside sources.
Especially if I start making better RAM than any other company. Though the main reason is to flood the private consumer market to capitalize on the other companies building their own AI server farms.
I don't really want to contribute to the problem when I could just upgrade a few more computers for a better result.
I looked at the time, 9:00.
Well, I don't have anything else to do, do I?
What should I do?
Play some games?
Yeah that sounds good, I looked at my phone before picking up the VR headset.
I happened to see a text from someone I haven't talked to in like a month.
My one and only friend, Alex.
He sent a text saying, "I'm hopping on."
That one short text told me all I needed to know.
I had been using my S-box to watch TV or Metube in my bedroom but maybe it was time to drag it out?
Wait a minute.
Alex plays on a computer and I have always played on the S-box because I didn't have a computer.
But, now I have a computer. So, there is no need to grab that dusty old thing.
I downloaded the application we use to talk and I grabbed my headset. While signing in I was also downloading the gaming app, Vapor.
Once I was signed in I entered our chatroom.
I said, "Hello." when I entered.
"Yeah, I hear you."
"Cool, I hear you too. Man, it's been a minute."
"Yeah, I know. Sorry about that. I was moving. The place we were previously renting raised the rent on us and it just didn't make sense to stay there. So we moved into a house instead of a duplex."
"Ooh. That's nice.
"Yeah, it has a nice big basement to hold all of the business' product."
"That's good, but first what game are we playing? I need to download it."
"Oh… wait a minute did you finally get a PC?"
"Yep, and I even got better internet."
"Nice. Well since you got a PC we could play anything. Want to take a look on Vapor first?"
"Sure."
