Chapter 101 - A Shape Without a Name

A Shape Without a Name

The cave opened wider.

Not completely—

but enough.

The walls stretched out just a little farther.

The air moved differently here.

Less stagnant.

But heavier.

Elios stepped into it without slowing.

His breathing had stabilized.

Not fully.

But enough that his body responded again.

The wounds he had taken earlier—

still there.

Still bleeding slightly.

Ignored.

His focus wasn't on that anymore.

It was on the feeling.

That pressure.

That unnatural response.

"…Again."

He didn't stop walking.

This time—

he reached for it while moving.

Not standing still.

Not preparing.

Just—

doing it.

The black flow responded.

Faster than before.

Still unstable—

but not completely wild.

It gathered around him.

Closer.

Tighter.

Like it was starting to recognize what he wanted.

"…Better…"

The word came out low.

He didn't push it too hard.

Not immediately.

He let it stay.

Held it.

Maintained it.

A sound echoed from ahead.

Different.

Not scattered movement.

Grouped.

Elios slowed slightly.

Then stopped.

Not because he had to.

Because he chose to.

Six goblins.

Standing further ahead.

Not rushing immediately.

Watching.

Waiting.

Elios' gaze sharpened.

His hand lifted slowly.

Not fully.

Just enough.

"…Let's see…"

He focused.

Not on force.

On control.

The black flow shifted.

Pulled inward.

Slower this time.

More deliberate.

Not collapsing into itself—

but shaping.

Condensing.

Elios' breathing stayed steady.

No immediate pain.

That was new.

The pressure built—

but not violently.

Not yet.

"…So it can…"

He didn't finish.

Because the moment he pushed further—

it changed.

The pressure spiked.

Abrupt.

Sharp.

"…Tch—!"

His arm trembled instantly.

The flow destabilized.

"…Hold—!"

He forced it.

Again.

Harder.

The pressure resisted.

Then—

compressed.

Not clean.

But tighter than before.

Elios didn't wait.

He released it.

The burst shot forward.

More directed.

More focused.

It struck one goblin—

dropping it instantly.

The others reacted.

Too late.

Elios moved.

The black flow flickered—

but didn't vanish.

That was new.

He stepped in.

Close combat.

Clean.

Efficient.

The second fell.

Then the third.

His movements sharper now—

not faster—

but more certain.

The remaining goblins rushed.

Elios didn't retreat.

He turned—

blocked—

countered—

cut one down.

Then another.

The last one hesitated.

Elios ended it.

Silence returned.

This time—

he didn't collapse into stillness.

He stood.

Breathing steady.

Body strained—

but holding.

The black flow lingered.

Thin—

but present.

"…So…"

He exhaled slowly.

"…That's how it works."

Not fully understood.

But clearer.

Less chaotic.

Elios lowered his hand slightly.

Then—

raised it again.

Testing.

The black flow responded.

Slower now.

More resistant.

But still there.

He tried again.

Pulled inward.

Condensed.

The pressure formed—

then broke.

Instantly.

"…Tch."

Not stable yet.

Not reliable.

Elios lowered his hand again.

This time—

he didn't force it.

Because now—

he understood something.

This wasn't just power.

It wasn't something he could use freely.

It was something he had to…

balance.

Or it would break.

Not just his body.

Something else.

Elios didn't name it.

Didn't think about it further.

Because thinking about it—

made it feel worse.

He turned.

And walked deeper into the cave.

Because now—

he had something.

Not control.

Not mastery.

But a shape.

Something forming.

Something that would become—

something else.

Later.

End.
