Chapter 285 - Chapter 672: Axel Inside the Space Passage

"ROAR!"

With a roar that seemed to tear apart the sky, Gyarados opened its massive jaws.

A gigantic "大"-shaped fireball appeared, its edges churning with blazing flames.

Like a molten meteor erupting from the depths of hell, carrying the terrifying aura of burning and destroying everything, it blasted straight toward the two Genesect in the air.

"N-No… impossible!"

The calm confidence on Colress's face was instantly replaced by boundless terror.

The lenses of his glasses reflected the massive, destructive fireball. His voice warped from sheer shock.

In all his data models, he had never calculated that a Gyarados could unleash such horrifying Fire-type power.

This completely overturned his understanding of Pokémon types and capabilities.

Bug and Steel-type Genesect facing a Fire-type ultimate move, Fire Blast. It was devastatingly effective.

BOOOOM!ll

The enormous "大"-shaped fireball hit its targets with perfect accuracy. Flames instantly swallowed the two Genesect.

Their hardened steel shells emitted ear-piercing shrieks under temperatures hot enough to melt metal. Their precise internal structures overloaded and collapsed under the violent surge of fire energy.

Blinding firelight erupted alongside a violent explosion. Molten metal fragments and charred components scattered like fireworks.

In a single strike, the two Genesect that Colress regarded as the crystallization of technology, immensely powerful creations, were reduced to burning heaps of scrap.

Trailing thick black smoke, they fell into the raging sea like kites with snapped strings.

The ocean surface fell into dead silence. Only the crackling of flames and the roar of heavy rain remained.

Diantha covered her mouth. Leon's Charizard instinctively took a step back. The Champion of Aurient exchanged an extremely complicated look with Cynthia.

Lance seemed even more unhinged now. He hadn't even given those two Pokémon a chance to be left barely standing. If Team Rocket continued to remain unsolved, Lance might truly go mad one day.

"My… Genesect…", Colress stared blankly at the wreckage floating on the sea. His body went cold as fear completely seized him.

The technological marvel he was so proud of had proven utterly fragile before absolute power.

Lance's Gyarados panted heavily. Burn marks from electricity and lingering numbness remained on its body, yet the devastating Fire Blast seemed to have vented its pain, making the ferocity in its eyes even stronger.

It locked onto the remaining targets, Lysandre's Pyroar and Gyarados.

The wild joy on Lysandre's face froze, replaced by overwhelming fear.

His Gyarados, which had been about to release Thunderbolt, saw its companion reduced to scrap metal in an instant. Its attack halted abruptly, its eyes filled with shock and hesitation.

"You're next!", Lance's voice was icy.

"Gyarados, make them feel true despair! Aqua Tail! Dragonair, Thunder!"

"ROAR!", The red Gyarados endured its discomfort. Its massive tail, wrapped in surging water, lashed out like a divine whip, smashing toward the Pyroar that had just dropped Protect.

With the rainstorm boosting it, the attack was terrifyingly powerful.

At the same time, Dragonair summoned lightning.

Empowered by the heavy rain, a brilliant golden thunderbolt struck precisely toward Lysandre's Gyarados. Water and Flying-type facing Electric-type Thunder, four times weakness.

"Pyroar, dodge!"

"Gyarados, dive underwater!", Lysandre screamed in panic.

But it was too late.

Aqua Tail, carrying overwhelming force and type advantage, slammed solidly into Pyroar.

Pyroar let out a dying cry as it was smashed into the sea, instantly losing consciousness.

As for Lysandre's Gyarados, it didn't even get the chance to dive.

The golden thunderbolt, like a spear of divine punishment, pierced through its massive body.

A scream of unbearable agony echoed across the sea. Its body turned pitch black and smoking before crashing into the ocean, sending up massive waves, then falling still.

In a single exchange, Lysandre's two main Pokémon were wiped out.

The red Gyarados hovered in the air. Though injured, it radiated even more terrifying ferocity than before.

Its crimson eyes were like searchlights from hell, locking onto the trembling, pale-faced Lysandre and Colress in the water.

Lance stood behind Gyarados, his gaze cold, like a god delivering judgment.

"N-No… don't come closer!", Lysandre had completely lost the will to resist. Only fear remained.

Colress stared blankly at the remnants of Genesect on the sea, as if his soul had left his body.

"Take them—", Lance began to issue the capture order.

"Lance! Watch above you!", Diantha and Leon shouted at the same time, pointing to the sky.

At the center of the Ultra Wormhole, the spatial rift suddenly expanded. An indescribable suction force burst forth, accompanied by heart-pounding energy fluctuations.

Everyone's attention was instantly drawn to the sudden change.

"Damn it!", Lance had no choice but to look toward the sky as the rift descended further.

Cynthia's voice rang out, "Throw them in!"

Lance nodded lightly and signaled Gyarados with his eyes. The latter immediately struck the water with its tail.

Splash!

A towering wave surged up, sweeping Lysandre, Colress, and their Pokémon straight into the rift.

A glow appeared on Palkia's forehead, forming a massive mirror in the air that displayed the scene of the two passing through space.

Inside the spatial passage, they tumbled endlessly, flipping upside down, occasionally letting out terrified screams.

Soon, Cynthia pointed at the screen, her expression grave.

"There's light. The passage looks very short."

The others nodded. They could all feel each other's concern.

A short passage meant the two worlds were already extremely close.

"We can only hope the other side is a friendly world. Otherwise, we're looking at a fierce battle…"

"Everyone, release your Poké—huh?", Leon stopped mid-sentence, suddenly stunned.

He rubbed his eyes and stared hard at the image Palkia displayed.

"Cynthia, take a look at the other end of the passage. Why does the person standing there look kind of familiar?"

"If I'm not mistaken… isn't that your Axel?"

Palkia wore an awkward expression. He also knew Giratina had gone to another world recently and had even asked him for help.

He just hadn't connected the dots and overlooked it.

If he had known it was Axel, he would've rushed in first to show his loyalty.
