Chapter 343 - Chapter 730 VS Yveltal

"This guy actually made it past level sixty?", Axel couldn't help feeling a bit surprised after taking a quick look at Arbok's status panel.

Looks like Rayquaza still had some other tricks up his sleeve. But thinking about it, that makes sense. As the Dragon God who's guarded Aurient for so many years, how could he possibly be simple?

Even the Pokémon in Axel's own team, the ones from Rayquaza's line, none of them are anything ordinary.

With that in mind, Axel didn't rush to make a move.

Arbok's strength was already there now. All it needed was a real battle to complete its transformation.

As a Pokémon he had known for a long time, Axel was willing to guard its path this once.

From within the spatial rift, a giant claw stretched out, pitch black like ink. Dark red, ominous energy swirled around its fingertips as it slammed down mercilessly toward the central pillar of the Dragon God Plaza.

At the critical moment, Arbok's purple body suddenly shot out, without a hint of hesitation, directly meeting that destructive strike head-on.

"Hiss!", Arbok let out a sharp screech. The terrifying pattern on its neck instantly expanded, the grotesque markings seeming to come alive, emitting a faint purple glow in the dusk.

A crushing pressure surged forward, even causing the presence beyond the spatial rift to pause for a moment.

BOOM!

The pitch-black claw collided violently with Arbok's body, producing a deafening explosion.

Arbok was forced backward by the terrifying force, sliding across the ground and leaving behind a deep groove. But it showed no sign of retreat, its eyes shining with firm resolve.

Axel stood not far away. The Poké Ball in his hand glowed faintly, yet he never opened it.

Once his Pokémon appeared, even if they didn't act, there was a high chance they would scare off that Yveltal.

"Heh! Heh! Heh… a little snake dares to block me?", The voice from within the rift was full of mockery, "Let me show you what true despair looks like!"

Amid Yveltal's roar, the spatial rift suddenly expanded, revealing its full form.

Its body was enormous. Its wings and tail were blood-red, and a suffocating dark aura spread all around it.

Just its appearance alone caused the plants in the plaza to wither at a visible rate.

The novice trainers in the park were already terrified out of their minds. Their Pokémon trembled uncontrollably, unable to even use their most basic moves.

This was the pressure of a Legendary Pokémon.

Arbok glanced back at the terrified trainers and their Pokémon in the plaza, then let out a hiss. Layers of horrifying Toxic Spikes rose behind it, nearly forming a wall, shielding the people and the Dragon God statue behind it. Its gaze was exceptionally firm.

It turned back toward Yveltal. The pattern on its neck grew even more ferocious, radiating an ancient and mysterious aura.

With a flap of its wings, Yveltal sent several Air Slashes screaming toward Arbok.

Arbok twisted its body with agility, dodging most of the attacks at astonishing speed. Still, one of the blades sliced across its side, splattering purple blood.

"Arbok, watch out!", The trainer with Gastly couldn't help shouting, even though he knew the warning wouldn't change anything.

The injured Arbok suddenly opened its mouth wide, revealing sharp venomous fangs. A dense Sludge Bomb shot straight toward Yveltal.

The move hit cleanly. Purple poison sizzled against Yveltal's black feathers.

Yveltal let out an irritated shriek, clearly not expecting this "little snake" to actually injure it.

The red markings on its wings lit up abruptly, and terrifying energy began to gather.

"I'll kill you!"

With a piercing roar, a dreadful red light burst from Yveltal's body. It unleashed Oblivion Wing without hesitation. The dark red torrent of energy almost instantly swallowed Arbok's figure.

Where the energy passed, grass withered, stone cracked, and all signs of life were completely drained away.

This was the authority of the God of Death.

Aside from the God of Life and the God of Order, it, Yveltal, feared nothing.

When the energy finally dissipated, Arbok was already covered in wounds.

What was surprising was that the injuries on its body were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Off to the side, Axel nodded to himself, knowing this was the result of Arbok pushing its Shed Skin ability to the extreme.

Normally, Shed Skin could only cure status conditions. But when trained to a high level, this ability, like the fragrance of Gloom, could be cultivated to produce many additional effects.

Seeing Arbok like this, Yveltal's eyes grew even more bloodshot.

It couldn't understand how such an insignificant opponent had managed to block its attacks twice.

It spread its wings fully. The dark aura grew denser, pushing the power of Dark-type energy to its limit.

Arbok showed no fear. A strange light flickered in its eyes, and the pattern on its neck seemed to come alive, forming a mysterious barrier.

When Yveltal's Dark Pulse struck, it was actually partially reflected back.

Bang!

Yveltal was hit by its own energy. It didn't suffer much damage, but its pride took a heavy blow.

It had a vague feeling it had seen this slippery fighting style somewhere before, but it just couldn't remember.

Seizing the opportunity, Arbok surged forward. Its entire body was wrapped in purple Poison-type energy, like an arrow released from a bow, shooting straight toward Yveltal's chest.

It used all its strength in a Poison Jab, aiming at the joint where Yveltal's wing met its body.

"Hiss! Yah!", With a resolute cry, Arbok poured all its power into this single strike.

Yveltal finally felt a hint of danger.

It drew its wings together, forming a defensive shield. But Arbok's impact far exceeded expectations, breaking through the defense and slamming directly into its body.

BOOM!

The shockwave from the energy explosion spread in all directions, knocking the trainers in the plaza off their feet.

The collision was so intense that at the point of impact, a purple mushroom cloud even rose into the air.

After a long wait, as the smoke finally cleared, everyone could see the scene inside.

Arbok lay in the center of the plaza. Its body had returned to normal, but it was covered in blood, clearly having lost the ability to fight.

As for Yveltal, there was a visible wound on its wing, dark red blood flowing from it, arbok had actually managed to injure the legendary God of Destruction.

Yveltal looked down at its wound, as if unable to believe that this "little snake" had hurt it to this extent.

It let out a world-shaking roar, spreading its wings completely as the dark aura became almost tangible.

The aura of death enveloped the entire plaza. Killing intent flashed in Yveltal's eyes, "I originally only wanted to destroy this statue, but now, I'm going to kill all of you."

As an evil god, Yveltal excelled at manipulating hearts.

So what if it was a hero?

Yveltal looked at Arbok's nearly unconscious body and sneered.

With just a single sentence, it could turn this hero into a sinner in everyone else's eyes.

Yveltal was already prepared to hear these mortals condemn that Arbok.

But before anyone else could react, Yveltal heard a familiar voice.

"Kill everyone?", Axel chuckled. He casually stepped in front of Arbok, rolling the Poké Balls of Ho-Oh and Mewtwo in his hand.

"The 'everyone' you're talking about… does that include me?"
