"Of course, Archmage Gonnegal opened a spatial gate and let us..."
"Kaleb, shut up!"
Harriet showed no courtesy at all and directly snapped at him.
"He's trying to get information out of you. Can't you tell?"
"Of course I know. But he's about to be a dead man anyway. So what if I tell him?", Kaleb flew into a rage after being embarrassed, "And Harriet, just because Lord said you're leading this mission doesn't mean you get to target me all the time."
"Target you?", Harriet immediately laughed, "If I really wanted to target you, do you think you'd still be alive?"
"You..."
Kaleb got shut down again.
But when he saw the cold look in Harriet's eyes, he immediately stopped talking.
"Sister Harriet, I saw the platinum treasure chest flashing again. It looks like it hasn't been taken yet. Cover me and I'll go in and take a look."
The bookish girl with the thick glasses quietly whispered into Harriet's ear.
After hearing that, Harriet nodded slightly.
"Alright. Be careful. If you run into danger, don't take risks. Use your Blink ability and return to my side immediately."
"Yes, Sister Harriet!"
After the bookish girl responded, Harriet gave Kaleb a look.
"Cover her!"
"Got it."
Kaleb replied impatiently.
Then he raised his large shield again and assumed a posture ready to attack, though he was actually just covering the bookish girl behind him.
The moment Kaleb raised the shield, the bookish girl vanished from where she stood.
But because she was small and happened to be hidden behind the shield... Nobody noticed.
"You're from Region A?", Harriet took a step forward to help cover for the bookish girl and continued talking to Ethan, "Since you're not a lord from our Region B, there's no conflict between us for now."
"I don't want to make things difficult for you either."
"How about this?"
"You hand over half the contents of the treasure chest, and we'll pretend we never met you. You can leave right away."
"Why should I?", Ethan raised an eyebrow, "Not to mention this is my territory, I opened the treasure chest myself. You want me to hand it over? Do you think that's possible?"
"Do you really want to force me to act?", Harriet smiled, "You should know that I'm a Level 4 Swordsman now. If you fight me, you'll be the one at a disadvantage."
Swish!
As she spoke,
she raised her hand and slashed at the cave wall beside her.
The instant she moved, Ethan suddenly felt a huge pressure.
His eyes narrowed.
Then...
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The cave wall struck by that slash erupted with a series of loud explosions.
After the explosions ended and the dust settled, Ethan noticed a cut nearly ten meters long on the cave wall.
It was probably about one meter deep, and the widest part was more than three meters across.
The power of that sword strike was no weaker than Ethan's Chaotic Sword Style.
It might even be stronger.
That surprised Ethan.
After all, he had spent so long in Region A and had barely encountered anyone truly capable.
Only after people from Region B appeared did Ethan realize there was always someone stronger out there.
Even if he had cheats, how could he be sure others didn't have them too?
He estimated his chances against the woman in front of him.
With his Shadow Guards and moves like the Strange Sword Style, he still held a slight advantage when it came to ambush tactics.
But the problem was Ethan still didn't know what the other three people beside her could do.
He might be able to win if he fought desperately.
But Daji and the Birdmen would probably have a hard time surviving.
That made him very uncertain about the coming battle.
He didn't really want a direct confrontation.
Instead, he was thinking about a sneak attack.
"Ahhhh!"
Just as the two sides were facing off, a scream suddenly came from near the stone coffin.
Hearing it, Ethan immediately wanted to turn around and look.
But he worried it might be some kind of trick from these people, so he forcibly resisted the urge and continued watching Harriet and the others.
However, what Ethan didn't expect was that Harriet's group looked even more alarmed than he was.
Especially the shield user, Kaleb.
"Helena didn't come back! Something happened!"
"Go check immediately!", Panic appeared on Harriet's face, "Helena is an important part of our expedition into the labyrinth this time! Nothing can happen to her!"
"Alright!"
Kaleb immediately raised his shield high and charged toward Ethan.
Only after Kaleb moved the shield aside did Ethan notice that one person had disappeared from behind him at some point.
In other words he was charging over with the shield raised to check what was happening at the stone coffin.
But there was already nothing inside the coffin except Medusa's statue.
Yet someone had screamed.
'Could it be... there is still a stray eye left inside the coffin?'
"Holy crap!"
After quickly analyzing the situation, Ethan immediately moved aside.
He directly let Kaleb and the others pass.
After all... That stone coffin was something that brought trouble just from taking one extra look at it.
Why would Ethan stop them?
"Hah!"
As Kaleb passed by Ethan with the others, he glanced at him.
His eyes were full of contempt.
He seemed convinced that Ethan didn't dare fight.
