Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: ELEGANCE, INCENSE AND ANCIENT POETRY

When Wang Hao answered the call, Wang Jianfeng on the other end of the line spoke in a low, measured voice, his usual steadiness carrying an unusual note of caution. "Hao… are you certain this is the exact address?" Wang Hao answered without the slightest pause. "Yes." His tone was firm, matter-of-fact. "That's the house." Silence lingered briefly on the other end. Then Wang Jianfeng spoke again, but this time, his voice was heavier, as though weighing his words carefully. "Hao… are you sure this is the property Young Madam Wu Qingyi bought for Young Master?"

Wang Hao's brows knitted together, confusion flashing across his face. "Yes," he replied, his impatience beginning to surface. "Why? Is there a problem?" On the other end, Wang Jianfeng let out a slow breath, the sound carrying a strange mixture of disbelief and hesitation. "It's just…" He paused, as if still trying to make sense of what he was seeing. "I can't believe Young Madam would choose a place like this…" His voice lowered further. "And that Young Master is actually going to live here."

The disbelief in Wang Jianfeng's voice was impossible to miss. After all, no one understood better than him and Wang Hao how deeply Wang Lingxuan had wanted Sun Blossom Estate. For a very long time, Wang Lingxuan had been searching for a property that truly matched his standards and personal taste. And when Shen Yiran managed to secure an opportunity involving Sun Blossom Estate through his company, it was Wang Jianfeng who personally handled the background investigation. From pricing and architectural layout to security systems and surrounding surveillance coverage, Jianfeng had examined every detail of the estate meticulously. That was why, the instant he saw the location pin and address Wang Hao had forwarded, he recognised it immediately.

There was no possibility of mistake. It was Sun Blossom Estate. Back then, after thoroughly investigating the property and confirming that the security conditions were sufficient for Young Master's safety, Jianfeng had already prepared for Wang Lingxuan's eventual move there. But before anything could proceed further… the accident happened, and afterwards everything changed….

The young master who had once carefully selected properties, reviewed business reports, and planned for the future no longer cared about any of it. Not the estate, not the company. At times, it seemed he barely even cared about his own life…

Sun Blossom Estate had remained unsold all this time, and the reason behind it was largely because of Shen Yiran. Knowing how much Wang Lingxuan had wanted that property, Shen Yiran had quietly interfered behind the scenes, ensuring that no buyer successfully acquired the estate. In a way, he had been preserving it for Wang Lingxuan. And yet, the irony of fate was almost unbelievable. The person who ultimately bought Sun Blossom Estate was none other than Wang Lingxuan's own bride. Not only that, she had purchased it as a wedding gift for him.

Even now, Wang Jianfeng found it difficult to believe. The coincidence felt almost unreal. That was why he kept confirming the address with Wang Hao again and again, wanting absolute certainty that he had not mistaken the location pin. Because no matter how he thought about it, it still felt too unbelievable to be true. Sensing the disbelief in Jianfeng's tone, Wang Hao misunderstood the whole point.

He assumed Jianfeng was worried the house was too ordinary, too modest for someone of Wang Lingxuan's status. So, Wang Hao spoke carefully, his tone firm yet carrying quiet respect. "Young Madam cares deeply for Young Master." His voice softened slightly as he continued. "The moment she thought Young Master had spent most of his money on preparing her dowry gifts, she immediately bought this house for him." "That alone is enough to show her sincerity."

Then, Wang Hao's expression turned serious, his words carrying weight. "No matter what the place is like, the intention alone deserves respect." He paused before adding, his tone turning firmer. "So whatever thoughts you have, keep them to yourself." "We are to respect Young Madam's decision."

Wang Hao continued speaking without giving Wang Jianfeng a chance to interrupt. "Now that Young Madam is married to Young Master, it is our responsibility to respect her the same way we respect him." His tone was firm, carrying a quiet warning beneath the calmness. "Whether the house is small or not up to the standard, it doesn't matter." "At the very least, I am sure it's far better than the tiny one-room apartment where Young Master stayed today."

After a brief pause, Wang Hao sighed lightly before admitting frankly, "Yes, compared to Greenwillow Estate, it may not even measure up to one tenth of it." "But Young Master has already agreed to move in." His voice sharpened slightly. "So, make sure everyone keeps their opinions to themselves. No complaints. No disdain. That house was bought with genuine care and love."

The last words fell heavily. Then, as though remembering something, Wang Hao added quickly, "One more thing." He continued, "Send someone to pick up Young Madam's luggage from the apartment and deliver it to the restaurant around nine tonight. We'll head to the new house together afterwards. I'll send you the restaurant details shortly." As he spoke, his tone shifted once more, becoming brisk and efficient, slipping naturally back into work mode. "I have to head to the restaurant now." A faint trace of excitement finally surfaced in his voice. "Tonight is the Young Master's and Young Madam's wedding celebration. So, I'll contact you later."

Before Wang Jianfeng could even respond, the call abruptly ended. The disconnected tone echoed faintly through the phone. Yet Jianfeng remained standing there motionless, the device still pressed against his ear as though he had forgotten to lower it. Truthfully, after confirming the location, he had barely registered another word Wang Hao had said. Slowly, his gaze drifted back toward the glowing address displayed on the screen. "…This place…" He muttered under his breath, disbelief filling his eyes once again.

A long moment passed before he finally lowered the phone. Meanwhile, Wang Hao's earlier words replayed repeatedly in his mind, one sentence after another.

A small house? Jianfeng nearly laughed aloud. Since when had Sun Blossom Estate become a "small house"?

If even Sun Blossom Estate qualified as modest, then the cramped apartment where Young Master had been temporarily staying could hardly be called a home at all. At best… It was a window. And not even ten percent of Greenwillow Estate? That thought almost made Jianfeng choke.

In reality, Sun Blossom Estate was more than eighty percent larger than Greenwillow Estate. More luxurious, more private and more valuable. His lips slowly curled upward.

Jackpot… That was the only thought that surfaced in his mind. Young Master had not merely married a wife. He had married a walking miracle.

"An average house?" Jianfeng scoffed softly to himself, amusement finally surfacing in his usually composed expression. "I really want to see Hao's face once he learns the truth." The anticipation gleamed openly in his eyes now. Perfect. He would personally go retrieve Young Madam's luggage later and afterwards, he would escort it to the new residence himself. That way… He could witness everything firsthand. Wang Hao's inevitable shock and disbelief expression, that scene would absolutely be worth savouring.

Soon, Wang Hao personally drove everyone to the dinner venue - Ling Pavilion. The moment the car entered the secluded stone pathway leading toward the establishment, the atmosphere itself seemed to change. Ling Pavilion was no ordinary restaurant. It was an exclusive private dining residence known only within the city's highest and most influential circles. A place where reservations were rarely requested, but most likely they were granted and only to those deemed worthy.

No unnecessary questions were asked there, nor were ordinary guests permitted beyond its gates. The entire establishment embodied a quiet kind of power. Classical elegance blended seamlessly with modern luxury; carved wooden corridors, soft golden lighting, rare ink paintings, and understated architectural grandeur created an atmosphere both refined and intimidating. Nothing inside screamed wealth openly, yet every detail whispered authority. Even the silence carried status.

Its private rooms were built to guarantee absolute discretion, ensuring that every conversation remained buried within those walls. Because of that, Ling Pavilion had long become the favoured gathering place for the city's true power holders - the place where influential figures discussed business empires, family alliances, bloodlines… and sometimes even decided the course of destiny itself.

However, to Wang Lingxuan, Ling Pavilion was far more than a mere restaurant. It was his territory. A domain that quietly bore his name beneath layers of secrecy and restraint. Very few people knew the truth, that the city's most exclusive dining establishment was, in fact, under Wang Lingxuan's control. Like its owner, Ling Pavilion hid its sharpness behind elegance, concealing power beneath refinement and silence.

And so, for his wedding day, Wang Lingxuan chose this place without hesitation. If they were going to celebrate, then it would be here, at the finest establishment in the entire city. The place that belonged to him and is owned by him alone. A hidden king ruling silently behind elegance, incense, and ancient poetry.
