Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: Another Mental Breakthrough

Chapter 90: Another Mental Breakthrough

At dawn the next day, before the sky was fully lit, Luo Han got up early and headed to the shore. Sitting atop a protruding rock, eyes closed, he listened to the waves crashing against the stone—but his focus wasn't here at all.

His consciousness was fully immersed in the world of telekinesis. Ever since the day he had clearly sensed the villagers' overwhelming fear of imminent death, he had noticed another transformation in his mental powers.

"My spiritual sense can now detect emotions far more clearly. Before, I could only feel vague signals—joy and excitement felt like a single pleasant emotion. I couldn't tell the difference. Sometimes, I wouldn't sense anything at all. In short, my emotional perception was muddy and unfocused."

Now, he could tell the difference. Joy was joy. Excitement was excitement.

"But what can I even do with this?" Luo Han tilted his head, thinking. He couldn't see any practical use for it.

"Maybe it's good for gauging how people feel about me—whether they're friendly or hostile?"

"Sigh… But if I could influence others' emotions with it, that'd be something. Like turning a hostile person's hatred into admiration—or even affection."

Whoa. That thought made Luo Han's eyes widen. That would be insanely overpowered—kind of like Kotoamatsukami from Naruto!

An ability that altered someone's will—transforming someone who hated you into someone who sincerely adored you. No illusion, just genuine emotional change.

"An absolute cheat code for getting girls! I have to develop this ability later."

A mischievous grin curled across his lips, and he let out a dumb chuckle. If anyone saw his face just now, they'd probably have nightmares.

Ahem—off topic. Luo Han quickly pushed aside his daydreams and refocused on communicating with the telekinetic realm.

Time passed. One by one, the others began waking up. Before long, the head chef began instructing the cooks to prepare breakfast. Soon, thin black smoke rose from the island. No one knew how the chef made a fire on a rock island.

Meanwhile, on the southeastern sea, a pirate ship was quietly sailing toward them. Spotting the smoke, it turned direction and hastened its approach toward Luo Han's group.

No one on the island noticed. Luo Han was still deep in mental communication.

With the enhancement of his mental abilities, Luo Han doubled the intensity of his link to the telekinetic realm. As a result, the amount of telekinetic power he could summon had multiplied.

"As I thought—whenever my mental abilities evolve, all related manifestations of them get boosted exponentially."

With a thought, he tested his power. Luo Han felt that he could now control a hill 200 or 300 meters tall with his telekinesis. Since leaving Ring Tree Island, his strength had continuously grown, but this spiritual breakthrough gave his telekinesis a massive upgrade in both density and range.

"If I went back to when Sea Kings attacked Ring Tree Island, I'd probably be able to evacuate everyone now."

He sighed. Standing up, he activated his Mind Force Armament. This time, instead of the usual pale blue, his energy was a deep, vivid blue.

"It's like I went Super Saiyan or something."

With the increase in quantity and quality of his power, his armament no longer resembled Naruto's Nine-Tails Chakra mode. It had expanded dramatically.

"If before it looked like a flowing robe, now it's more like a puffy space suit."

"Let's test the speed!" he said, launching upward.

No sound. In a flash, Luo Han vanished—his body simply shimmered, then disappeared.

Floating high above the island, Luo Han was pleased. The speed was significantly faster than before. With greater telekinetic refinement and better bodily integration, it felt like space itself opened up a fast lane for him. In the blink of an eye, he was 3,000 meters in the air.

"Not bad. Not bad at all. Time to eat now. I'll test my defense and offense next time against the Roger Pirates."

He was feeling bold. With Cole now having his own trump card, and Luo Han's massive leap in power, he was confident. He might not withstand a full-powered strike from Whitebeard just yet, but at least he wouldn't be wiped out instantly like during the Ark Island incident.

Back on the island, everyone was sitting around eating porridge.

Luo Han grabbed a bowl and sat next to Cole, slurping it down quickly. The rice was good—probably bought by the head chef on Battleship Island. He made a note to have him buy more next time. Meat every day was getting old.

Gulp, gulp! Luo Han finished his last bite and set the bowl down, glancing at Cole.

"You full yet?"

Cole didn't respond—probably too busy. He was drinking porridge from a giant bowl three meters wide, while holding a hunk of roasted meat in the other hand.

Gulp, gulp. When he finally finished, he patted his belly.

"Should be full now!" he said—and immediately bit into the meat.

Luo Han lay back on a rock and closed his eyes, speechless.

At the same time, the pirate ship approaching the rocky island continued quietly moving in.

Onboard, Jabber was looking through a telescope, observing the two pirate ships anchored offshore. One bore Tucker's symbol, the other Whitebeard's—clear signs that Luo Han and crew were here.

He lowered the telescope with a grim look and turned to Roger. "It's Whitebeard's crew. They've got a new ship, but that green-cross flag clearly belongs to that brat Luo Han's crew."

Clang! Roger drew his blade and looked toward the island. "Advance—full speed."

When they were just 5 kilometers from the island, Sister Shao noticed the approach. Luo Han, however, did not—he hadn't activated his spiritual sense.

Sigh. That's the downside of spiritual sense, Luo Han would later reflect. Unlike Observation Haki, which passively detects threats, my spiritual sense has to be consciously activated. That's how I nearly lost an arm to Golden Lion on Ark Island.

No time to think now. As Sister Shao spotted the approaching ship, Roger stood at the bow, staring toward the rocky island. He raised his famous blade and slashed.

Clang! A powerful white slash wave surged forward, cutting across 5 kilometers of ocean.

Boom!

Before Luo Han and the others could react, the entire left side of the island shattered in a blinding blast, the massive rocky terrain cleaved in two as seawater flooded into the gap.
