Chapter 121: Actually, My Dream Is to Be a Designer
The warm glow of sunset spread across the mountaintop like a smooth mirror, reflecting layer upon layer of crimson clouds.
Luo Han sat at the edge, quietly watching the sun sink below the sea, heralding the coming night.
"You're here, Spoon-jie."
"I am."
Spoon-jie appeared behind him, then sat down beside him, pouring two glasses of red wine.
Luo Han blinked in surprise. He suddenly remembered something from his past life — supposedly, red wine should only be poured to a certain level, or else you'd look like an amateur. But hey, this was the world of One Piece — who cared about that? Maybe Spoon-jie didn't know either.
"Here. You already know, don't you?" Spoon-jie handed him a glass, gazing out at the sea with a faint sigh.
Luo Han took the glass and downed it in one go, exhaling deeply. Then, quite seriously, he said, "I understand your dream, Spoon-jie, really. If not for the cruelty of this world, who would want to become invincible?"
"Look at me! My real dream was to be an interior designer. But this world left me no choice — I was forced to awaken Conqueror's Haki, forced to develop my Devil Fruit abilities, forced to keep growing stronger…"
"To the point where now, no one can even break through my defense. It's a miserable way to live. This is all because of life. Deep down, I just want to be a stylish, principled interior designer. I never wanted to be a pirate."
"When you open your bar someday, Spoon-jie, I'll design it for you. I promise you'll love it. And if you don't, we'll revise it — again and again — until you're satisfied. And if that still doesn't—"
Luo Han got more and more excited, rambling endlessly like he'd entered some kind of flow state.
At first, Spoon-jie was speechless. Then she looked at him, utterly baffled, her expression saying, "This is how you 'understand' my dream? I wish I had to power up like that!" Her face gradually darkened with lines of pure frustration.
"SHUT UP, YOU LITTLE BRAT!!" she finally roared.
Uh-oh. Luo Han froze, realizing he'd gone too far. He'd only wanted to lighten the mood — not ruin it.
"Force of habit! Please forgive me, Spoon-jie," Luo Han said awkwardly, staring straight ahead, not daring to meet her eyes.
But then Spoon-jie chuckled, and said softly, "It's only been a year, but it feels like several. I can still remember when you two brothers first came aboard. And now, in the blink of an eye, you're one of the strongest in the world."
"So… I'll be counting on you from now on. After all, there's no safe island left for me in the New World."
Gulp! Luo Han downed the rest of his wine, then stood and faced the sea, laughing loudly.
"You called me Spoon-jie, right? Well, as your little brother, it's my job to protect you! Don't worry — no one can force you to do anything. I mean it — no one!"
It was a bit dramatic and full of teenage flair, but the sentiment behind it was real — and trustworthy.
Standing in the last light of day, Luo Han's tall frame radiated vitality. Even with dusk setting in, he seemed to shine with an inner brilliance.
At least, that's how Spoon-jie saw him. She wiped the corners of her eyes and smiled softly.
"Do you remember when we first met? That was the first time I ever introduced myself to someone. The first time I let anyone call me 'Sister.'"
"Maybe that's why it stuck. But really, it's because your bond with Cole reminded me of Aishi and me. Over time, hearing you two constantly calling me Spoon-jie… I really did start to see myself as your older sister."
Then, with a playful smile, she added, "You guys didn't think I was just taking advantage of you, right?"
"No way! You're overthinking it, Spoon-jie," Luo Han laughed, shaking his head and sitting back down.
The two of them sipped their wine and chatted about all sorts of things — lighthearted and nostalgic.
As night fell, Cole came up the mountain and called them down for the banquet.
The celebration took place in a square on Battleship Island — one kilometer long on each side. Not too big, not too small.
By the time they arrived, the square was already full of food, wine… and people. Nearly the whole island had come.
After all, most residents had never seen the infamous Blue Demon. They were dying to catch a glimpse.
When Luo Han entered, he found crowds packed around the banquet, straining their necks to see what was going on. Naturally, he didn't know they were all here… for him.
Not until he took his seat.
"LOOK! That's Lord Blue Demon!" a burly man shouted, pointing at Luo Han.
"Where?! Where?!" Another scream echoed.
"Lord Blue Demon! Over here! I want to have your babies!" a fangirl shrieked.
"He's ours too! If anyone's having his babies, it's all of us!" some older ladies screamed back.
"Yeah! That's right!" a few random men agreed enthusiastically.
"Lord Blue Demon belongs to everyone!"
…
Luo Han sat on his cushion, face twitching. At first, it felt great — being cheered on like a hero. But when those burly men started yelling too… yeah, the mood was ruined.
Worse, Toki, Aishi , and the other women were clearly trying to hold back laughter. Luo Han's face turned red, then white, cycling through several shades of embarrassment.
"SHUT UP, YOU IDIOTS! DON'T BOTHER ME WHILE I'M EATING! GET LOST!!" he finally roared.
A wave of Haki exploded from him. The crowd suddenly felt as if a sea of blood had risen before them. A freezing dread swept over them, and after a moment of silence, the entire group scattered like frightened animals.
Phew… peace at last, Luo Han muttered as he sat back down.
Soon after, the girls couldn't help it — they burst into laughter.
"Haha! Luo Han, you really are popular! Men and women alike! I know an island where everyone's gender is flexible — sounds like it'd suit you!" Toki joked gleefully, waving her arms.
Smack! A gentle slap from Luo Han's telekinesis shut her up instantly.
"Han-ge… did you finish developing your new ability?" Cole asked softly, bringing the room to a hush.
"New ability? What new ability?" Everyone looked at Luo Han curiously.
Realizing what he'd done, Cole scratched his head in embarrassment. His dad had always said not to talk about Luo Han's Devil Fruit.
"It's fine, Cole. It's not really a secret anymore," Luo Han said with a grin. "Remember how you were all laughing at me slapping myself the other day? Well, I did the same thing when I first awakened my powers as a kid."
"And now? Just give it a few days. You'll all see how amazing this new ability really is. Hahaha!"
