Chapter 216: The Submission of Warrior Monk Sanlong – The Terror of "Kotoamatsukami"
BANG! BANG BANG!
After a series of crashes, over a dozen Sky Island youths lay bruised and battered across the beautiful streets of the Sky Island town—some slumped on the ground, others hanging from windowsills or wedged in walls.
"So scary…"
"Are women from the Blue Sea all this terrifying?!"
The surrounding Sky Island residents stared at Ellis and her companions in fear—mainly at Ellis and Sora, since they were the ones who had delivered the beating.
"These guys… they must've been to Sabaody before."
Sora thought back to what just happened. The moment the youths saw Akatsuki , their greedy eyes gave them away. Without a word, they charged straight at her.
Their intentions were obvious: capture Akatsuki . Clearly, they understood her value.
"Traffickers… They're everywhere like roaches." Ellis said in disgust.
She looked at Akatsuki and noticed the dazed look in her eyes. "What's wrong, Akatsuki ?"
"I'm fine…" Akatsuki answered weakly. "I just didn't expect that even a place so far from Fishman Island like Sky Island still has people targeting us."
It was true. Even in the skies, people saw fishfolk as walking money.
And as long as that was the case, the violence would never end—unless, one day, fishmen were no longer worth anything.
Sigh… Ellis sighed. As Luo Han once said, this was a problem with no solution.
"Hmm… someone strong is approaching," Ellis suddenly said, looking toward the center of the town.
Through her Observation Haki, she sensed a powerful aura rapidly closing in.
Akatsuki and Sora tensed. Anyone that Ellis deemed "strong" had to be at least vice-admiral level in terms of power.
With Luo Han not present, they had to be extra careful.
"He's here!" Ellis ' eyes gleamed.
Just as she finished speaking, a figure leapt from a distance and landed hard.
BOOM! The impact left a crater in the street. From the pit, a beastly figure climbed out—it was Sanlong in his Zoan hybrid form.
"A Zoan-type Devil Fruit user!"
The three women readied themselves.
But to their surprise, Sanlong reverted to human form, glanced around…
Then dropped to his knees with a loud thud and pleaded, "Please, sirs and madams, spare Sky Island!"
Pointing at the beaten youths, he continued, "Those punks only acted because of the stories I told them about my time in the Blue Sea. It's my fault they targeted Princess Akatsuki !"
"I'll personally break their arms and legs so they never dare harm fishmen again."
"And as for offending you today—I'll take full responsibility. Whatever punishment you decide, I accept. Just… please, spare this island. It's my home."
Sanlong spoke with sincerity. He didn't hide his emotions. This place meant everything to him—he would die to protect it.
After his long plea, Ellis and the others came to one conclusion: this guy knew Akatsuki . And he feared her.
But the fear seemed directed more toward someone behind Akatsuki …
Could it be Luo Han? Ellis wondered.
Akatsuki said it aloud. "You're afraid of Luo Han, aren't you? No… of Blue Demon."
BANG!
Sanlong slammed his head to the ground, cracking the stone beneath. "Is… is that great man here too?"
His voice trembled. He stayed prostrate and shouted, "Please, spare my home, Blue Demon! I'll pay any price!"
Woosh! The surrounding Sky Islanders finally snapped out of their daze. Seeing Sanlong groveling like this, they panicked.
"These Blue Sea people must be here to destroy our island!"
"Sanlong! Let's drive them off together!"
"Yeah! There's more of us! We don't have to fear this Blue Demon guy!"
But at those words, Sanlong nearly panicked again.
He remembered the golden spears—the ones that exploded endlessly. Numbers meant nothing to someone like Luo Han.
That attack… it was limitless.
"Everyone, stop! Please don't anger Lord Blue Demon!" Sanlong stood and tried to calm them. "Let me handle this. Please, everyone, leave!"
Get out of here! You'll get us all killed! he thought, but didn't dare say it too strongly. It might trigger defiance and make things worse.
"Sanlong, I—"
"Enough!"
Ellis shouted, cutting off the murmurs.
BOOM! Everyone clamped their ears instinctively, stunned by the sheer power in her voice.
For a moment, silence fell.
Ellis looked at Sanlong, expressionless.
This guy had been fighting shadows the entire time. Luo Han wasn't even here, and yet Sanlong had worked himself into a panic.
That alone showed how deeply he feared Luo Han.
"First of all, we're not here to destroy anything. We're just sightseeing."
She explained to the crowd.
Then she turned to Sanlong with a pained look.
"You've been imagining things. Luo Han did come to Sky Island—but he's not here. He went to another island."
"And even if he was here, he wouldn't destroy the whole place just because of a few scumbags. He's not some mindless monster."
"Thank you… Thank you for your mercy…"
THUD! Sanlong knocked his head to the ground again in gratitude.
Sigh… Ellis sighed again. Her mood to explore was gone. She looked to Akatsuki and Sora, silently asking, Can we leave now?
Sora shrugged. She didn't mind either way.
Akatsuki , however, stared at Sanlong thoughtfully, then said, "You were one of the pirates who invaded Fishman Island, weren't you?"
Sanlong's body stiffened. Still kneeling, he raised his head with a bitter smile. "Yes, Princess Akatsuki . I'm sorry… for the harm I brought to your home."
"Heh."
Akatsuki sneered. "More than just harm. If it weren't for Blue Demon showing up, Fishman Island would've been reduced to rubble."
"Still… I didn't expect a pirate like you to have a hometown you'd risk your life to protect."
"I'm sorry," Sanlong repeated, bowing even lower.
"Oh, you're that guy?" Ellis finally remembered. "I think Luo Han spared you, didn't he?"
Hearing that, Sanlong's head shot up, eyes wide.
He had always believed he'd survived by luck—because he'd eaten a Devil Fruit just before the massacre.
He'd never imagined it was because Luo Han let him live.
"You thought you survived by chance?" Ellis chuckled. "After the attack, I used my Observation Haki and sensed that someone had survived."
"Luo Han knew too—but he didn't go after you. That's why you're still alive."
THUD! Sanlong collapsed to the ground, eyes empty.
His final shred of self-worth—gone. He hadn't escaped death.
He'd been spared… because Luo Han couldn't be bothered to finish him.
"Let's go. He's done," Ellis said, turning to leave with Akatsuki and Sora.
"He's not done yet."
A familiar voice reached their ears.
The three froze and looked up.
Luo Han descended rapidly.
THUD!
He landed beside them, gazing down at Sanlong with a gleam of interest in his eyes.
"You're back already?" Ellis asked, surprised.
Did he not find Birka?
"I'll explain later," Luo Han replied, then approached Sanlong.
"Turns out you really did survive my attack," he said with a smirk. "Not bad."
Through his spiritual sense, Luo Han could see that Sanlong had reached vice admiral-tier strength.
"So, want to serve under me?"
"B-Blue Demon…"
Sanlong couldn't stop shaking. He stared up at Luo Han, utterly terrified.
Visions of that blast on Fishman Island—the fire, the heat, the annihilation—flashed in his mind.
His mind is completely open to me, Luo Han realized with interest. This level of fear… is fascinating.
"In that case… let's test Otohime's version of Kotoamatsukami."
Without hesitation, Luo Han released a psychic pulse into Sanlong's spiritual world.
Inside, Luo Han saw a towering image of himself dominating the space.
Seems the trauma from Fishman Island left quite the impression. My image takes up nearly his entire mental world.
"Perfect."
He focused his thoughts, and a Will Seed appeared in his psychic space.
Go.
He sent it into Sanlong's mind.
It flew straight into the towering, fearsome image of Luo Han—his mental symbol of trauma.
The Will Seed absorbed it like a sponge, merging with it completely.
Sanlong didn't resist.
In fact, he didn't even register the intrusion.
Just like that, Luo Han successfully implanted a Will Seed of Absolute Loyalty into Sanlong's spiritual world.
"Stand up," Luo Han commanded.
It all happened in seconds. No one else even noticed.
"Yes."
Sanlong rose, then blinked. "Thank you, Lord Blue Demon!"
His eyes still held fear, but his body no longer trembled. He would instinctively follow Luo Han's commands—without questioning why.
He believed his obedience came from his fear, not manipulation.
He's already using the ability that little blond fishman once used…
Ellis was amazed. She was likely the only one who understood what Luo Han had just done.
