Chapter 122 - Chapter 122: Yu Xiaogang, Envoy of the Primordial God

Chapter 122: Yu Xiaogang, Envoy of the Primordial God

"Xiao San, absolutely not! You cannot cultivate your Haotian Hammer!" Yu Xiaogang's face changed drastically when he heard Tang San's words.

"Listen to me carefully, Xiao San. In the entire history of the continent, only three people have ever possessed twin martial souls, and only one of them ever succeeded in cultivating both to the limit."

"Without a proper method for training twin martial souls, you must never attempt to cultivate the Haotian Hammer."

Seeing his teacher's serious expression, Tang San immediately sensed the severity of the matter. "Teacher… is cultivating twin martial souls dangerous?"

Yu Xiaogang nodded solemnly. "The first known cultivator of twin martial souls died when attaching a ring to the second one—his body exploded under the pressure."

His voice grew grave. He could not bear the thought of losing his disciple that way.

"So dangerous?" Tang San's blood ran cold, fear flashing across his face.

"You don't need to worry too much," Yu Xiaogang continued. "I happen to know the only person who successfully mastered twin martial souls. I'll obtain the proper cultivation method for you."

"According to what I've learned, one must reach the level of Titled Douluo to truly unleash the potential of twin martial souls. By then, your second spirit will be able to withstand far greater power—perhaps even nine one-hundred-thousand-year spirit rings."

Yu Xiaogang's face took on a look of mysterious pride.

The thought of nine red spirit rings made Tang San's heart race.

Nine hundred-thousand-year rings—what kind of power would that be?

In comparison, no "Warlock" could ever stand against him.

The excitement burning in his blood was impossible to hide.

"All right, Xiao San. You should rest for now," Yu Xiaogang said, waving him off.

Tang San nodded respectfully before turning to leave.

Yu Xiaogang waited until his disciple was gone before returning to his room. But the moment he opened the door, he froze.

A shadow stood silently in the center of the room.

The shape was black, faintly transparent—as if half-parted from reality. And in that darkness, two crimson eyes gleamed like bloodied gems.

Yu Xiaogang's pupils shrank violently.

That form… he had seen it once before. On that dark night, it was this very shadow that had first revealed to him the secrets of a god.

"Y-you… you're the Primordial God?" Yu Xiaogang stammered.

The door behind him shut on its own. Within the sealed room, man and shadow faced each other.

The figure didn't speak. It merely stared at him, crimson light pulsing brighter from its eyes with every passing second.

Then came the voice—low, rasping, and vast.

"Spread my faith. Let the religion of the Primordial One take root across this land… my chosen servant."

Though the figure's lips never moved, the words echoed directly within Yu Xiaogang's mind, carved deep into his soul.

He stood motionless for a long time, stunned—then trembled with ecstasy.

After the second blood sacrifice in Soto City's cemetery, he had come to revere and fear the Primordial God.

And now, the deity had appeared before him personally.

The Primordial God had spoken to him—had named him the envoy of its divine will.

What greater honor could there be?

Yu Xiaogang's face flushed with excitement. He had heard while in Spirit Hall that the incomparable 99th-rank Douluo Qian Daoliu was the Angel God's divine envoy.

And now he, too, was the envoy of a deity!

"I understand, my Lord Primordial," Yu Xiaogang said reverently, dropping to his knees and bowing low—humble as a dog before a master.

The shadow gave a small nod and disappeared, fading into nothing as if it had never existed.

Outside, a crow perched quietly on a tree branch and fluttered down to land on Luo Ling's shoulder.

The entire "divine revelation" had merely been a trick of his own making.

First Trial of the Primordial God: Gain one hundred thousand believers.

Since receiving the strange test, Luo Ling had resolved to complete it—to see once and for all what secrets lay behind his so-called divine martial soul.

And who better to begin with than Yu Xiaogang, who had already performed multiple sacrifices?

Watching the man on his knees, shaking with zeal, a faint smirk crossed Luo Ling's lips.

So this was the "great master"—a man willing to throw away his pride and humanity for power and prestige.

A few rituals, a whisper of divinity, and he had surrendered everything.

How pitiful.

The "divine envoy" nonsense was nothing but bait—and eventually, when Luo Ling's plans and revenge were complete, he fully intended to discard Yu Xiaogang.

He looked forward to seeing the man's face when he realized his god had abandoned him.

In the days that followed, Davis did not return to Shrek Academy. Word had it he'd rushed back to the Xingluo Empire.

After all, Tang Hao had killed his younger brother—and with the Clear Sky Sect now branded as an assassin sect, he dared not linger anywhere near Soto City.

The Emperor Team also departed ahead of time, returning to Heaven Dou Imperial Academy.

Before leaving, Qin Ming once more extended an invitation for Luo Ling to join them, but Luo Ling turned it down politely.

A month later, guided by the map Qin Ming had provided, Flender and the Shrek teachers finally reached Heaven Dou Imperial Academy.

They all stopped, speechless, unable to believe their eyes.

The academy before them was a paradise of rolling gardens, shining towers, and opulent mansions.

Compared to this, their Shrek Academy was a crumbling village from another era.

Every teacher gawked silently.

Even the students—aside from Luo Ling and Ning Rongrong—were left open-mouthed in astonishment.

Flender quickly coughed and straightened his coat. "Ahem! Everyone, stop looking so uncultured. So what if it's richer than us?"

"In terms of students, they can't compare! Our place may be small, but it breeds monsters!"

"Even their Emperor Team's vice-captain wanted to stay with us. Clearly, our teaching methods are stronger!"

He said this proudly and without a trace of shame. The students exchanged awkward looks.

Even Yu Tianheng shifted uncomfortably.

Did Flender truly not realize the only reason he stayed was because Yu Xiaogang was his uncle—and Qin Ming his former master?

Luo Ling and Ning Rongrong almost burst out laughing. The rest of Shrek could only stare blankly.

And then, just as in the original story, the fourth prince of Heaven Dou Empire, Xue Beng, strutted out from the academy gates, followed by a group of sycophantic lackeys.

Each step was exaggerated to the point of absurdity. He embodied every flaw of an arrogant noble.

"Stop right there. Who are you people?" Xue Beng asked disdainfully, looking down his nose at them.

Flender furrowed his brows but kept calm. "We're from Shrek Academy, invited by your Heaven Dou Imperial Academy to join forces. Lead the way."

Xue Beng's gaze swept over them—all dressed plainly, none exuding any noble aura.

He sneered. "You bumpkins think you're fit to join our academy? Look at yourselves! Get lost before I dirty my eyes any further."
