Chapter 234: The Swan Titled Douluo
Heaven Dou City, Imperial Palace Grand Hall.
Today, countless powerful figures had gathered there, for the Douluo Continent was about to welcome another newly ascended Titled Douluo.
Standing among the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's delegation, Luo Ling walked slowly toward the inner hall.
In addition to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's Titled Douluo was also in attendance.
So were the Elemental Families—previously seen during the Continental Soul Master Academy Tournament.
The Spirit Hall had also sent representatives, but Bibi Dong herself did not come; instead, Hu Liena represented the Hall, accompanied by Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo.
Some forces, however, were absent—such as the Clear Sky Sect, which remained in seclusion, and the Star Luo Empire.
Emperor Xue Ye's breakthrough had placed enormous pressure on the Star Luo Empire, his greatest political rival.
Luo Ling's arrival drew swift attention from many guests.
Two years ago, at the Soul Master Tournament, his overwhelming strength had left an unforgettable impression—he had been an Emperor-rank Spirit Master with a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring, far beyond his peers.
Standing beside Dugu Bo, Dugu Yan caught sight of Luo Ling, her eyes lighting up immediately. She hurried over, a faint pout on her lips.
"Xiao Ling! Where have you been all these years?" she asked in slight resentment.
She'd searched for him at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and even inquired with the Spirit Hall, yet found nothing.
"I went out to train," Luo Ling said with a shrug.
As they spoke, several familiar faces from the Soul Master Tournament approached.
"Long time no see, Brother Luo," Feng Xiaotian greeted with a smile, Fire Dance standing quietly beside him.
Luo Ling's eyes flickered as he glanced at them both, then smiled. "Long time no see—and congratulations on becoming a couple."
Feng Xiaotian laughed awkwardly, scratching his head.
Luo Ling was a bit surprised, inwardly amused that persistent pursuit had actually paid off. The cooperation between their two teams during the tournament had clearly deepened their bond.
Soon after, Shui Bing'er from Tianshui Academy approached with her sister, Shui Yue'er.
Shui Bing'er's gaze was complicated. Ever since being defeated by Luo Ling, his image had been carved into her heart.
He was the most extraordinary genius she had ever encountered—and like many women, her admiration for such brilliance was undeniable.
But her hopeful expression faded when she saw Ning Rongrong clinging possessively to Luo Ling's arm, her eyes full of guarded hostility. Shui Bing'er sighed softly in helpless acceptance.
"Luo Ling, will you compete in the next Soul Master Tournament?" Shui Bing'er suddenly asked.
Her question stirred everyone nearby. Feng Xiaotian, Fire Dance, and many other young Spirit Masters turned their eyes toward Luo Ling.
Two years ago, he had already been a Spirit Emperor with a hundred-thousand-year ring. If he entered again two years later… could he already be a Spirit Sage?
If Luo Ling participated, what chance would they even have?
Luo Ling paused, realizing why this group had gathered around him despite not being close.
Smiling faintly, he shook his head. "I am already a Spirit Sage now. Two years later, I won't be joining the tournament."
The crowd froze in collective shock.
Not far away, Yu Tianheng and Ma Hongjun widened their eyes in disbelief.
Even with the Blood Demon Ritual, they had only reached the Spirit Emperor and Spirit King ranks, yet Luo Ling was already a Spirit Sage—that was beyond comprehension.
"You're already a Spirit Sage?" Feng Xiaotian stammered.
Luo Ling nodded. Rings of light emerged beneath his feet—
Yellow, purple, black, black, black, red, red!
Seven spirit rings rose in sequence. The last two shone with a dazzling crimson brilliance that left the entire hall breathless.
Even the older generation of powerhouses couldn't help being astonished.
Two hundred-thousand-year spirit rings!
Ning Fengzhi and the Sword and Bone Douluo, standing nearby, stared in shock. Luo Ling had not revealed his full strength since returning, and now they finally understood—he had obtained another hundred-thousand-year ring.
As that aura filled the air, many eyes glinted with greed.
A hundred-thousand-year soul beast always left behind a soul bone. Two of those rings meant two such treasures!
"Hmph!" A cold snort resounded. Sword Douluo stepped forward and released his Titled Douluo pressure.
The oppressive aura instantly silenced the greedy stares; many lowered their eyes hastily.
Luo Ling, unconcerned, dismissed his spirit rings. Though he possessed two hundred-thousand-year rings, both came from fusion rather than slain beasts—so no soul bones had dropped from them.
However, he did carry others: the Blue Silver Grass soul bone and the external soul bone of the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger.
Once the tension in the hall eased, Sword Douluo withdrew his pressure.
At that moment, a figure stepped from the dais at the far end of the palace—Emperor Xue Ye himself.
He had also seen Luo Ling's two crimson rings, and the envy on his face was unmistakable.
His own breakthrough to Titled Douluo had granted him only a seventy-thousand-year spirit ring.
As the murmurs settled, the ceremony formally began.
Returning to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's section, Ning Fengzhi leaned toward Luo Ling and whispered, "Luo Ling, never casually reveal your rings again—especially those hundred-thousand-year ones."
Sword Douluo nodded in agreement. "Kid, those people were ready to pounce just now."
Luo Ling nodded lightly, unfazed.
At the center of the grand hall, Emperor Xue Ye's demeanor turned solemn. His black-and-gold silk robes shimmered beneath the holy light, and the jeweled sapphire crown upon his head gleamed brightly.
From the dais, Platinum Bishop Salas gazed deeply at him.
He would preside over the ceremony.
Traditionally, a new Titled Douluo would travel to Spirit City to receive their title from the Pope directly, their achievement announced to the world. But Emperor Xue Ye had refused to go.
So Bishop Salas had been sent to officiate in her stead.
Originally, Xue Ye had hoped the Pope herself would come to Heaven Dou City for his crowning—but he had overestimated his own importance.
Though a Titled Douluo stood at the peak of the mortal world, to the Spirit Hall, it was far from impressive.
Emperor Xue Ye bowed slightly, awaiting Salas's declaration.
"In the sacred name of the Angel God, Emperor Xue Ye of Heaven Dou attains the rank of Titled Douluo. He shall henceforth bear the title—Swan Douluo!"
Salas's voice was solemn and ceremonial.
Around the hall, expressions varied.
Divine right of kings—it existed even on the Douluo Continent.
It was a legacy from ancient times.
The Angel God, once deified through faith, still held sway over hearts. Though worship had waned with the ages, it had never vanished entirely.
Both empires—Star Luo and Heaven Dou—still carried remnants of Angel God belief.
That faith was what allowed the Spirit Hall to freely build branches within both empires.
As the prayers sounded, the coronation of Emperor Xue Ye—the Swan Douluo—neared its end.
