Chapter 104 - Chapter 104: The Golden Generation of Spirit Hall

Chapter 104: The Golden Generation of Spirit Hall

Once he mastered the Eight Spider Lances, making them move like poisonous spears at his command, his combat ability would rise tremendously.

He wouldn't just be unmatched among his peers—even those a level higher might not stand a chance against him.

Dugu Feng sat cross-legged, restoring his soul power.

For the next three days, he didn't leave his residence, spending almost all his time refining control over the Eight Spider Lances while keeping an eye on Heaven Dou City's situation. Nothing major had changed in those days.

On the fourth day, just as he was about to begin cultivation again, the Feng brothers came knocking.

"Brother Dugu, you're not going to see what's happening at the academy? A genius student from Spirit Hall has challenged everyone there, and no one can beat him. The academy is losing face! We've come to ask for your help!"

Feng Ling clasped his fists respectfully as he spoke, with Feng Li beside him looking equally eager.

"Oh? Tell me more."

Dugu Feng asked with curiosity.

A genius from Spirit Hall—could this be one of the Golden Generation?

"His name is Yan," Feng Ling explained, "his martial spirit is the Flame Lord, and he's at the forty-eighth level."

At this, Feng Ling hesitated awkwardly.

Level forty-eight—it was indeed higher than Dugu Feng's.

So this was truly one of Spirit Hall's Golden Generation. Dugu Feng's expression turned slightly odd. "So, you two are trying to use me to get revenge?"

"You want me to fight someone almost at the Soul King level?"

The Feng brothers gave embarrassed smiles.

Feng Ling continued quickly, "Not at all, Brother Dugu! This was Teacher Ge's suggestion too.

You once defeated Yu Tianheng despite being over ten levels weaker. Everyone saw your strength. Even Yu Tianheng and Shi Mo have challenged Yan, but all lost. So we thought of you!

We all have faith in you."

He went on to explain Yan's background.

Yan had arrived in Heaven Dou City around the same time rumors spread that Bibi Dong had left Spirit City.

He had since challenged multiple academies in Heaven Dou City—winning every single battle.

Now, even at Heaven Dou Imperial Academy, he remained undefeated.

Level 48 with two yellow and two purple spirit rings, yet he had only used his first three soul skills so far—one for attack, one for enhancement, one for defense.

And still, no one could touch him.

No wonder Father had said Heaven Dou City and the Imperial Academy were lively lately.

Clearly, Bibi Dong intended to intimidate the Heaven Dou Empire—sending not only powerful elders but also the young prodigies to crush their pride.

"The toughest part is his second soul skill," Feng Li added. "Flame Rock.

When he activates it, his body is wrapped in blazing dark-red fire, and his form expands, turning as tough as granite.

One of our senior Soul Sects, whose martial spirit is the Explosive Sword, hit him with all his strength—only leaving a faint white mark.

Any attack below the Soul Sect level barely scratches him.

He's only twenty years old, and he's already crushed everyone's confidence."

Twenty years old at level forty-eight—definitely a prodigy.

In about two years, the Continent Advanced Soul Master Academy Tournament would begin. At that time, Yan would be twenty-two, likely level fifty-two.

Feng Xiaotian, with innate full soul power, would be twenty-four and only around level forty-four.

The Golden Generation of Spirit Hall truly lived up to their reputation.

Dugu Feng took a sip of tea leisurely. "If that's the case, then I'll meet him.

Let's see whether my poison can pierce his defense."

Feng Ling and Feng Li were overjoyed. The image of Dugu Feng defeating Yu Tianheng across ten levels had left a deep impression on them.

He had been only a Grand Soul Master back then—now he was a Soul Elder with a newly gained third soul skill. Maybe he could perform another miracle and defeat Yan despite the gap.

After all, poison-type soul masters were never strongest in direct combat—it was their poison that made them deadly.

And the Dugu clan's poison was second to none in the entire soul master world.

Having decided, they wasted no time and headed straight for Heaven Dou Imperial Academy on the outskirts of the city.

At the academy gate, Dugu Feng first met Ge Ying.

"I knew you'd come," Ge Ying said with a grin. "I've already told the three education committee members. They have full confidence in you.

They've also decided to announce the duel—three days from now, at noon!"

Ge Ying chuckled cheerfully.

"Brother Ge, this was your idea, wasn't it? You're putting me right into the fire! What if I lose?"

Dugu Feng said helplessly.

By the time three days passed, even the nobles of Heaven Dou City would surely come to watch.

Ge Ying threw an arm over Dugu Feng's shoulder. "Come on, it's just a little Flame Lord. You'll handle him easily."

"The higher they praise you, the harder you fall. Aren't you worried your tongue will burn from bragging?

The power gap between them is enormous. This young man hasn't even reached Soul Sect level yet—how's he supposed to defeat Yan?"

A cold, mocking voice interrupted.

Feng Ling and Feng Li immediately turned, furious—only to freeze when they saw who it was.

A young man and woman stood nearby.

They looked ordinary at first glance, yet their presence radiated the same pressure as high-ranking spirit beasts about to strike.

They both wore the spotless white uniforms of Spirit Hall Academy, marked with Spirit Hall's golden insignia on their chests.

The one who had spoken was a young man with short black hair and slender hands. He looked plain, but his sharp eyes gleamed with confidence and disdain.

What stunned them even more was the girl beside him.

A gentle smile curved her lips, and her eyes sparkled faintly, making Feng Ling and Feng Li momentarily lose themselves completely.

They felt as if they had never seen a woman so beautiful in their lives.

Dugu Feng immediately recognized them—Evil Moon and Hu Liena.

Had all three members of Spirit Hall's Golden Generation come?

"Whether I can beat him or not—you'll see on the arena," Dugu Feng said calmly, unaffected by Hu Liena's charm.

Her allure wasn't aimed at the Feng brothers, nor was it a soul skill—she simply radiated natural grace. A smile, a glance, and already the brothers had lost their composure.

Dugu Feng's composed words woke them up, and they glared at Xie Yue and Hu Liena in frustration.

These two were clearly strong as well.

At twelve years old and still short of Soul Elder level, they could easily rival Yan's talent and approach Soul King strength; the difference was massive.

"Some skill, perhaps," Hu Liena said with a hint of amusement, her voice soft and enchanting, "but to beat Yan? You're still far from it. Try not to cry on the stage."

"Enough talk," Xie Yue sneered and strode toward the academy, Hu Liena following gracefully behind.

"So arrogant!" Feng Ling exclaimed. "Brother Dugu, when you defeat that Yan, let's see if they still dare show their faces in Heaven Dou City!"

"Exactly! Anyone unaware would think this is a Spirit Hall Academy now!" Feng Li added angrily.

"Enough," Dugu Feng said with a faint smile. "He was right about one thing—the higher they rise, the harder they'll fall.

Three days from now, we'll make sure they fall hard."

Ge Ying just chuckled, unfazed.

Dugu Feng remained calm as well.

So this was the Golden Generation. He wanted to see for himself just how strong they truly were.
