Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: Taking Over Canghui Academy

Chapter 109: Taking Over Canghui Academy

"Xiao San, don't lose heart. Since you managed to produce an external spirit bone once, it's possible you could do it again.

And haven't you noticed? Your third spirit ring's ability is incredibly powerful.

That proves spider-type spirit beasts are highly compatible with your Blue Silver Grass.

Continue to train diligently—when it comes time to gain your fourth or fifth ring, if you absorb another spider-type beast, you might once again create an external spirit bone!"

Seeing his disciple's anguish, Yu Xiaogang couldn't bear it. So he began weaving a dream.

As a master at persuasion, painting dreams came naturally to him.

Sure enough, Tang San's eyes lit up.

"Teacher, now that you mention it, isn't there a higher chance of gaining an external spirit bone when surpassing one's limit to absorb a spirit ring?

As you've said, an external spirit bone is a one-in-ten-thousand miracle. So why did I get one this time?

Could it be because I absorbed the Man-Faced Demon Spider's ring beyond the normal limit of a Soul Master?"

Yu Xiaogang was momentarily stunned. He had only said it casually to rekindle Tang San's fighting spirit.

The idea that Tang San might obtain another external spirit bone was a miracle on par with ascending to godhood.

But his earnest disciple had taken the hypothesis seriously.

"This…" Yu Xiaogang forced a stern tone. "Xiao San, you must not risk your life chasing another external spirit bone. It's a one-in-ten-thousand chance and not worth your life!

From now on, you can't absorb any new spirit rings without my approval!"

He hadn't meant for his words to spur reckless ambition—only to inspire perseverance and hope, not to push Tang San to gamble with his life.

"Teacher, please don't worry," Tang San said earnestly. "I won't act rashly. I'll focus on strengthening my body and willpower. Only with your permission will I attempt ring absorption.

Teacher, please teach me ways to enhance my physical condition!"

In his heart, Tang San had already decided—but he knew better than to act impulsively. Before attempting anything, he would need to determine the exact limit of what his body could endure.

Yu Xiaogang sighed with relief. Yet strangely, a glimmer of hope stirred within him. Could Xiao San truly gain another external bone?

He quickly said, "Speaking of which, I'm furious about your training conditions.

To build physical strength, you need proper nutrition, supplements, meat!

Flender feeding you pickles and buns every day—how can anyone grow stronger like that?

Now that I'm here, things will change.

Xiao San, I'll personally oversee your special training. I promise your physical strength will improve tremendously!"

Fired up with resolve, Yu Xiaogang was determined to match his disciple's reignited spirit.

Tang San grew excited. To him, his teacher was omniscient. With Yu Xiaogang guiding him, even reclaiming his spider legs no longer seemed impossible.

The thought of regaining his Eight Spider Lances filled him with renewed vigor.

Heaven Dou City.

Several days later, good news arrived—Shi Nian had been captured alive by Old Snake.

Dugu Feng immediately left Heaven Dou Imperial Academy and returned to the city.

Instead of going to the Dugu family estate, he slipped through backstreets and alleys toward the eastern part of town.

There, on a broad avenue paved with green bricks, stood a moderately sized yet elegant academy.

The grand gate opened to reveal marble fountains and two granite walkways leading inward.

Dugu Feng followed one straight into the main teaching building.

This academy was now Dugu family property.

After Dugu Feng decided to acquire Canghui Academy, Old Snake had gone to handle Shi Nian, while Flower King purchased new grounds right here in Heaven Dou City—an empty academy with perfect location and scale to house the family's enterprise.

Walking through the grounds, Dugu Feng grew more and more satisfied.

The facilities included classrooms, training fields, a gravity chamber, even a simulated cultivation environment. Though not vast, it was ideal for a new foundation.

He made his way to a domed building in the north—the principal's office.

"Dean Snake, how does it feel to be a teacher?"

Dugu Feng greeted Old Snake with a faint smile.

Old Snake chuckled. "I didn't disappoint you, young master. The Canghui principal and his backers have agreed to withdraw. Flower King is arranging their relocation here right now.

And the man you wanted—Shi Nian—is inside."

Dugu Feng's eyes gleamed as he stepped forward.

Inside, slumped in a chair against the wall, sat an elderly man in a pale moon-colored robe. His expression was cold, his body feeble.

"Young master," Old Snake said with pride, "he's been poisoned by me and is extremely weak."

Realizing the young man before him was addressed as "young master," Shi Nian instantly understood whom he faced. Panic replaced his anger.

"Young master, if your noble house wanted Canghui Academy, why resort to such means?

I, Shi Nian, would never dare oppose your clan even if you asked me outright!"

He had been equal parts furious and terrified when Old Snake explained the situation.

The Dugu family had a Titled Douluo among them—he would never be so foolish as to defy them.

Dugu Feng stepped closer. "I want Canghui Academy—but I also want you. Are you willing to serve my Dugu family?"

"Do I have a choice?" Shi Nian gave a bitter smile.

He wasn't of noble birth; his mutated spirit, Dream of Despair, had carried him far only because of his ruthlessness and cunning.

After reaching Soul Sage level, he'd joined Canghui Academy for stability—never imagining the Dugu family leader-in-waiting would come for him.

He couldn't decide if the moment was a curse or a blessing.

Dugu Feng waved his hand. The Emerald Dragon Snake coiled around his wrist shot forward, landing before Shi Nian.

The elder paled instantly—the aura from the serpent was overwhelming.

Could it be… a ten-thousand-year soul beast?

He could feel its killing intent pressing down on his chest.

The Emerald Dragon Snake opened its mouth and spat out a jade-green pellet that floated in the air.

"Swallow this. Betray me, and you die instantly. I require nothing less than absolute loyalty."

Dugu Feng's tone was chilling.

Shi Nian's eyes flickered with resistance, but after a moment's hesitation, he grit his teeth and gulped the jade pill down.

It vanished without a trace—he couldn't sense it at all, even with the strength of a Soul Sage.

Awe and fear filled his heart.

So this was the power of great clans—traveling with ten-thousand-year beasts and enslaving others by mysterious means.

"Young master, what are your commands?" Shi Nian asked, forcing himself upright and bowing respectfully.

Dugu Feng noted his quick yielding and nodded approvingly.

"Your first task," he said calmly, "is to work with Old Snake to relocate Canghui Academy to Heaven Dou City.

Then, lead it to victory in the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Tournament two years from now."
