Chapter 159 - Chapter 159: Winning Over Ning Rongrong

Chapter 159: Winning Over Ning Rongrong

"I did it!"

Ning Rongrong's gentle voice rang out, brimming with joy.

She gazed at the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda in her hand—its rings of yellow, yellow, purple, and purple glowed brightly, the perfect configuration representing her Soul Ancestor level.

Sensing the boundless energy surging within her, her heart leapt with delight.

"I've reached level forty-two!"

"That's the lingering medicinal power of the Qiluo Tulip fully merging into your body and enhancing your soul power," Dugu Feng explained.

Ning Rongrong stood and suddenly threw herself into his arms, her hands wrapping around his neck as she kissed him deeply.

Words were meaningless now.

She wanted to show her gratitude through action.

After a long, tender moment, their lips parted.

Ning Rongrong's eyes were hazy, her body tingling as she rested against his firm, warm chest.

"Little witch, the surprises aren't over yet," Dugu Feng said with a playful smile.

"More?"

Ning Rongrong blinked, overwhelmed—today had already been full of wonders.

She followed his gaze toward the body of the Nightmare Beast—and froze.

"A… a soul bone!"

Her voice trembled.

"Dugu Feng, I swear I'll win the Soul Master Tournament and bring back the championship spirit bone for you!"

Ning Rongrong's tone was firm; her heart completely belonged to him now.

"Absorb it. This soul bone will perfectly complement your new spirit ring."

Ning Rongrong didn't hesitate. She picked up the radiant skull and began the absorption process.

Compared to absorbing a spirit ring, merging a soul bone was far easier. Within moments, the skull's light faded and fused fully into her forehead.

Her soul power didn't rise further, but Dugu Feng could tell—the soul bone focused on enhancing her spiritual power. Its age wasn't high enough to influence her rank, but its significance lay elsewhere.

"Rongrong, what about your new spirit ability and the soul bone skill?" Dugu Feng asked.

Ning Rongrong lifted her Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda. The fourth ring glowed brilliantly.

"Nine treasures turn to glazed brilliance, the nine treasures hold divine radiance—Four: Spirit!"

A soft light descended upon Dugu Feng, momentarily sharpening his senses and clearing his thoughts.

Spiritual amplification.

Indeed, the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda's nature was undeniable—it had preserved its amplification pattern even after absorbing the Nightmare Beast's ring.

"That's your fourth ability. And the soul bone?"

Ning Rongrong giggled. "The soul bone skill is Illusion Control."

He was stunned.

How incredible—her soul bone ability was identical to the fourth rings of the other gem-type soul masters, all originating from the Nightmare Beast.

Which meant—she could now participate fully in the Seven Shura Illusion Realm.

Dugu Feng smiled in satisfaction. "Excellent work, Rongrong."

Ning Rongrong's bright eyes sparkled. "It's a pity we can't enter the tournament together. If we could fight side by side—you attacking, me supporting—every soul master in the world would envy us!"

She sighed softly, imagining it with a touch of romantic longing.

"My strength cannot be revealed too openly. Besides, the tournament no longer concerns me much," Dugu Feng said indifferently.

Standing together atop the mountain, Ning Rongrong leaned closer.

Dugu Feng wound his arm around her slender waist, feeling the warmth and softness beneath his touch.

Without hesitation, he kissed her.

Ning Rongrong responded eagerly, her body growing hotter in his arms.

With a sudden motion, Dugu Feng carried her onto the back of the Emerald Dragon Serpent and flew swiftly into the depths of the Sunset Forest.

They descended into a large underground cavern carved neatly by tools.

Lustrous glass lamps illuminated a tidy training area and various living quarters.

"This is where I usually cultivate," Dugu Feng said quietly.

"Mmm…"

Ning Rongrong's voice was faint; she already sensed what was coming next.

Her body softened, clinging to Dugu Feng as though her strength were leaving her.

He could feel every trace of her warmth.

"Don't be nervous," he murmured.

"I'm not nervous at all!"

Her eyes darted playfully even as her cheeks burned crimson.

She looked around the cave. "Such a hidden place!"

"It's just us here," he said simply.

Still holding her, he approached the bed—a plain one for his rest during training, but large enough for two.

"Come on, I'm not afraid of you!"

She gave a soft humph, her porcelain face glowing pink, betraying her flustered excitement.

Her hands clenched tight, her heart pounding wildly.

She suddenly remembered—back at the Primary Soul Master Academy, he'd once bet and won her whale glue.

Her face grew even hotter.

Dugu Feng smiled inwardly. Not afraid? Your face tells me otherwise.

Their eyes met, sparking with fire.

Then Ning Rongrong buried her face against his chest, her heart overflowing with warmth.

The atmosphere within the cavern grew hazy, bright, and intoxicating.

Moments flowed as naturally as rain against banana leaves.

And the earth itself concealed all traces of their passion.

A long while later, Dugu Feng entered a still, lucid calm. His mind felt perfectly clear, his thoughts sharp as lightning.

Ning Rongrong, flushed and languid, lay draped against him, tracing circles on his chest with her fingers.

"Dugu Feng, I can't even go back to the academy for days—and it's your fault," she murmured softly, her limbs weak except for that stubborn hand moving in protest.

"Five days. Rest, and we'll go back then," Dugu Feng decided firmly.

With the extra soul bone, his confidence had grown—there was no reason to rush.

"What? Five days!"

She gasped in disbelief.

She seriously doubted she'd even be able to walk out of this cave in five days.

"It's just right—you need time to adapt to your new ring and the soul bone," Dugu Feng explained seriously.

That reassured her somewhat. At least his focus remained on cultivation.

"Then five days from now, you'll come with me to Blue Tyrant Academy. I'll introduce you to my friends—and tell Dean Flender that I'm changing academies to join Gem Academy.

But don't underestimate my teammates," she said softly, her voice still tender.

"Oh? What's so special about them?" Dugu Feng asked knowingly.

That sparked her enthusiasm. Some of her strength had already returned.

Nestling closer into his arms, she said, "For example, take Ma Hongjun. His martial spirit is rather disgusting and flawed, but beneath that, its fire is incredibly strong.

Remember at the last match—it even burned through your cousin's Jade Phosphor Purple Poison. Normal flames could never do that.

The Phoenix is said to be a divine beast. If he can fix his spirit defect, his power could rival the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon itself."

Her tone was measured, logical—her assessment sharp.

"Impressive," Dugu Feng said simply.

Her eyes lit up from his approval, her excitement rising again.

"And then there's Xiao Wu. She's the most mysterious of all our team members!

Did you know that when we went to the Star Dou Forest to hunt spirit beasts, something incredible happened…"
