Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: I Am No Longer the Weak Girl I Once Was!

Chapter 89: I Am No Longer the Weak Girl I Once Was!

"Between her and me, who's more important?"

Uh… what kind of question was that?

If this were before, the answer would've been obvious—Na'er, of course!

But now?

Naturally, both were important!

"Of course… of course you're the more important one!"

In that instant, a frigid, suffocating chill radiated from beside him—so subtle yet boundless. Jiang Chen froze, not daring to turn his head.

Quickly, he added, "You're one of us now—she's the enemy!"

Gu Yue snorted coldly and said nothing more.

Still, Jiang Chen's stomach dropped. "Just… don't act rashly, all right?" he whispered nervously.

Now that Na'er was fully positioned within Shrek Academy, she had to be used to her fullest potential. As Yun Ming's trusted disciple, she would know everything there was to know about Shrek's internal workings.

Jiang Chen might not fear Shrek Academy, but thirty-plus Title Douluos couldn't be underestimated. The "Golden Tree" that served as their divine relic had already been swapped out in a plan of his own design.

That move was key to his greater scheme.

The "Natural Core" position on the Douluo Plane served an important purpose—it could deceive the current Plane Master, Tang Hao himself.

The established rule was that only one Blue Silver Emperor could exist in each era. Yet he'd discovered that back on the Sun–Moon Continent, there had been another Blue Silver Emperor nearing the 200,000-year mark.

Jiang Chen feared that this impulsive fool, Tang Hao, might try to reclaim Na'er.

He'd already gone head-to-head with Tang God King once and nearly died for it. If he restored his "split personality" and remerged into the complete Silver Dragon King, things would spiral.

She'd become even harder to control.

"I know." Gu Yue folded her arms.

She'd indeed grown quieter lately.

But the wager between her and Jiang Chen still stood.

And she refused to lose.

She would never bear this bastard's children.

She had to summon every ounce of the Dragon God's "peerless wisdom" to plan her counterattack.

"Tang San, the so-called 'God of Wisdom,' huh?" she muttered under her breath. "This time, I won't lose to you."

Then she frowned. "This Shrek Academy uniform, though… it's hideous."

The Shrek team made their entrance, drawing thunderous cheers from the stands. The green uniforms, however—the same design worn for countless generations—were downright unpleasant to look at.

If not for their good looks, they would've been unbearable.

Among the Eastsea students, Wei Xiaofeng gazed dreamily down at the Shrek contingent. Becoming a student of that academy had always been his dream.

He clenched his fists, eyes shining with ambition.

Though he hadn't joined Class Zero, as the strongest among the other youths, he'd still been selected for Eastsea's seven-member team.

Originally, one of Jiang Chen's trio was supposed to join the main team. The schedules for the three-person and seven-person matches didn't overlap.

But the Snow Empress wanted nothing to do with what she called "children's games." The only reason she joined at all was to stay by Jiang Chen's side.

Jiang Chen himself was more than happy to slack off. With a cultivation level of forty-nine, entering the youth division would've been pure bullying.

This way, Huo Yun'er could take the spotlight—and Tang Wulin could be pressured to grow stronger, forcing his Golden Dragon bloodline and spirit to evolve.

"The opening ceremony begins!"

"Please welcome Shrek Academy's youth seven-member team, challenging last year's youth champions!"

"What?!"

Gasps filled the stadium.

The previous youth champions were already over twenty years old—they now competed in the adult division.

There was a full five-year gap between them!

How arrogant could Shrek get?!

The audience buzzed with disbelief.

Still, Eastsea's team wasn't shaken. They had seen real monsters before—three of them, in fact.

Ten years old, Soul Sect-level cultivation… that was enough to break anyone's spirit.

Of course, arrogance required strength to back it up—and Shrek certainly had that.

Even if the Federation and the Spirit Pagoda were breeding new generations of talents in Class Zero all around the country, they couldn't yet match Shrek's thousand-year foundation.

Every major family and sect still sent their geniuses there to study.

The Shrek team already had a captain in place, but two new entrants—both of them Sea God Pavilion disciples—had completely shifted the spotlight.

Na'er and Dai Lingyu stood at the front, commanding all eyes.

"Match, begin!"

Tang Wulin felt uneasy at first. Na'er had never even awakened a martial soul—how was she supposed to fight?

But then he remembered—how could someone without cultivation have become Yun Ming's disciple?

In an instant, a Silver Dragon Spear materialized in Na'er's hand, silvery light swirling around her.

Five soul rings rose at her feet—yellow, purple, purple, black, black.

A ten-year-old... Soul King.

Jiang Chen's eyebrow twitched. "She's opened up her spirit too, huh?"

The rest of the Shrek team stood casually, arms crossed, radiating disdain—they didn't even bother to assist.

"You're too arrogant!"

At the referee's shout, the former champions charged forward in outrage.

A burst of white light flared—accompanied by a thunderous dragon's roar that shook the arena.

Every opponent's martial soul wavered and collapsed under the pressure.

Na'er moved like lightning, her spear lashing out in a blur—seven flashes, seven strikes.

The next second, all seven opponents lay sprawled across the stage, unconscious.

"Winner—Shrek Academy!"

The battle had lasted all of one minute.

Utter annihilation.

Tens of thousands of spectators fell silent. The eighty-thousand-seat stadium went completely still.

Then came the applause—a storm of cheers like an onrushing tsunami.

It was a slaughter.

Na'er withdrew her spear and lifted her chin, her eyes scanning the crowd.

She found who she was looking for.

Her gaze first met Tang Wulin's shocked expression. She smiled softly—warm, familiar.

Then she looked past him.

To the man sitting unfazed, utterly detached—like everything before him was beneath his notice.

The one she'd see in her dreams.

Jiang Chen.

"Na'er is no longer that weak, timid girl she once was," she whispered to herself.

"Na'er controls her own destiny now."

"Jiang Chen—whatever Na'er owed you, she'll repay it all today."

Yes—she had come to end her debt, to sever all ties with her past.

She knew he had used her as a pawn, a spy within Shrek Academy.

She had accepted it before because she owed him.

But now—she wouldn't betray the master and mistress who treated her like family, just to repay an old debt.

This trip was her way of drawing a line—clear and final.

Gu Yue stared at Na'er in silence, emotions flickering behind her violet eyes.

After a long pause, she said quietly, "Teacher Wu, I want to join the seven-member team."

Wu Zhangkong: "?"

Everyone: "?!"

Wei Xiaofeng: "Huh???"
