Chapter 185: Jiang Chen, Don't Let Na'er, Who Shares the Dragon God's Wisdom, Fool You!
Jiang Chen / Tang Wulin: "Is this… right?"
Tang Wulin: When will I ever get to live with my senior sister?
Just imagining himself cooking breakfast for her every morning, seeing her smile every day—Tang Wulin couldn't help grinning like an idiot.
"Hehe~"
Hehe your head!
Jiang Chen facepalmed. What on earth is Na'er thinking this time? Does she want to get bullied again?
Wu Zhangkong looked at them calmly. "What's wrong with it?"
"And what are you two imagining? It's not the same room—she's been assigned her own villa."
Wu Zhangkong was speechless. As if the university would put them in the same dorm.
That was, after all, the personal disciple of Sea God Pavilion Master Yun Ming.
Although, to be honest, the Federation wouldn't have minded… but Yun Ming might have exploded if he found out.
Jiang Chen sighed internally.
So even here, he couldn't use any of his special privileges to stay in a university villa, yet a student from Shrek Academy got such treatment.
Was that fair?
Apparently, no matter where you went, outsiders were always treated better.
Still, he wasn't about to refuse such an opportunity.
What idiot would say no to that?
Without hesitation, he signed the papers—didn't even bother reading them.
"Alright, you can both leave now," Wu Zhangkong said. "Oh—and about the upcoming exchange tournament, would you like to participate?"
Tang Wulin: "I'll join!"
Jiang Chen: "I'll pass."
He knew better. After all, he'd just handed the Dragon Clan's super artifact—the Ascending Dragon Pillar—to Na'er. Her power by now was far beyond imagination.
Even Gu Yue, who was still partially sealed, probably wouldn't be her match anymore.
And with the Dragon God's Heart in play, that battlefield would not be one he wanted to step onto.
He had no desire to see Na'er using the opportunity to "settle accounts" and humiliate him publicly.
Better to bow out gracefully.
Still, the thought of watching Gu Yue get thrashed by Na'er until she questioned her entire dragonhood—that was a spectacle worth seeing.
"Sinful, sinful," Jiang Chen muttered wryly. "Gu Yue thinks so highly of me—helping me gather Dragon King soul bones, refining my bloodline—and this is how I repay her. I really am a terrible man."
But regret? None whatsoever.
If anything, he was looking forward to watching that showdown.
As Jiang Chen and Tang Wulin left the office, two waves of icy killing intent suddenly swept toward them.
Even Tang Wulin shivered instantly.
"Uh, I-I'll go ahead!"
He gave a quick nod and bolted without a second thought, leaving Jiang Chen to face the storm alone.
Standing before him were the Snow Empress and Gu Yue.
"How come you're both here?" Jiang Chen asked, puzzled.
Gu Yue / Snow Empress: "We heard you're going to be living with Na'er."
Jiang Chen froze.
A Soul Beast monarch and the ruler of the Extreme North—coming all this way just to eavesdrop?
"Yeah," he admitted. "What can I say? I'm too charming. She personally requested me as her guide. How could I refuse?"
Snow Empress didn't respond—only released a colder chill into the air.
Gu Yue, however, sneered. "You ungrateful little traitor. I can't fathom why you're still so fixated on her."
"Don't let her fool you."
After all, Na'er was her own fragment—even without sharing her mind, she still carried a trace of the Dragon God's wisdom.
And even that trace was far beyond ordinary comprehension.
She feared Jiang Chen would fall right into the manipulations of another "her."
Because who could understand her better than herself?
"She is you, you know," Jiang Chen pointed out. "So technically, you're insulting yourself."
"Hmph! I am not her!" Gu Yue snapped, her tone sharp.
She still couldn't believe she'd once been foolish enough to split her own consciousness. Experience human society, she'd told herself… what a pointless decision.
If humanity angered her again, she'd just destroy them. Problem solved.
"Anyway, take care of yourself," she said curtly, brushing past him to enter the office.
She had come for one reason—to claim her place in the upcoming exchange competition.
If Na'er wanted a fight, then a fight she would get.
She would show her that no matter how much a fragment struggled, a fragment was still just that—a shadow of the Silver Dragon King.
And if Na'er gets a villa, then I want one too!
The main body could never lose to her own fragment.
Whatever it took, Di Tian would handle it.
And if he didn't—well, then he'd learn firsthand what the majesty of the Silver Dragon King truly meant.
Whether it was practical or not didn't matter. She didn't care.
Can't get it done? Then what good are you, Di Tian?
Di Tian: ???
"Uh, so… what brings you here?" Jiang Chen turned to the Snow Empress, confused.
She wasn't cultivating the Ice Dragon King's power—what was she doing running around?
Snow Empress frowned, her elegant brow tightening.
"Are you… tired of me already?"
Jiang Chen blinked.
"What? Of course not! Why would I be tired of you?"
He was completely dumbfounded.
With such a beauty always at his side, how could he possibly be unhappy? It was eye candy for the soul!
"Then it must be because you've found someone else," Snow Empress said, her tone dripping with wounded jealousy.
Jiang Chen nearly coughed up blood.
"Wait—what? Where is this even coming from!?"
"Have you frozen your brain absorbing the Ice Dragon King's power?" he joked.
The next instant, a soft, slender hand snaked around his waist, her icy tone sending chills through him.
"You are tired of me. You never used to talk to me this way."
She twisted her fingers sharply—a very human gesture of protest she'd learned somewhere.
"Hisss—When did you learn this bad behavior!?"
"Alright, alright! My fault! I was wrong!"
He didn't even know what he'd done wrong, but admitting guilt was safer than arguing.
Women—human or soul beast—were wired the same. Irrational at times, but always dangerous.
And the moment a man pointed it out, it stopped being "irrational" and became "doom."
"Humph!"
Snow Empress turned her head away, uncertain why she was acting like this at all.
Every time she saw Jiang Chen with other women—especially Gu Yue—her chest tightened.
She was supposed to walk with him toward godhood and eternity. So why was he always around Gu Yue instead?
Wait—could it be…?
The Silver Dragon King had inherited the Dragon God's wisdom.
Had Gu Yue used that intelligence to seduce him?
Impossible!
Such a dangerous being could not be allowed to spend time alone with Jiang Chen.
She straightened, expression turning serious.
"I want you to promise me one thing."
It was probably the most she'd spoken in a single day.
Jiang Chen tilted his head curiously. "What is it?"
"Promise first."
"…Alright, I promise."
He'd decide later whether to actually keep it.
Snow Empress's voice turned cold. "Stay away from Gu Yue. She's dangerous."
Jiang Chen looked genuinely taken aback. Dangerous?
Sure, the Silver Dragon King was dangerous—but Gu Yue? He didn't see it.
Though, recalling her crossing her arms and shouting, "Jiang Chen! I'm not done with you yet!" … okay, maybe a little.
Snow Empress pressed on, "Even if it's absolutely necessary… I need to be by your side. Together, we'll face her."
