Chapter 223: Traveling to Another World! The Demon Plane, Here I Come!

Where was Jiang Chen now?

Lounging comfortably on the sofa, his legs resting across Na'er's lap.

Na'er glanced at him in irritation but didn't push him away.

"Hello?"

"Ah, Tian Luo? What is it?"

"…The Demon Plane?"

"Alright, alright—send Xiao Gang to pick me up then."

He ended the call, an odd expression flickering across his face.

The Demon Plane, huh?

How had the Douluo Federation found it?

The Yuanen Clan, perhaps?

The Yuanen were much like the old Clear Sky Sect—reclusive and independent, not particularly fond of the Federation.

After all, their lineage hid the shadow of two divine-ranked soul beasts—traitors who still remained bound to Shrek Academy and Tang Sect.

Because the fragments of the God Realm lay in the Federation's hands, the so-called Myriad Beast Platform had never been completed. Those two soul beasts were thus confined to the Clear Sky Sect's domain.

In order to sever the humans' control over the beasts entirely, a secret had been leaked: that two ancient beasts—Er Ming, the Titan Giant Ape, and his descendant mixed with human blood—had founded a new family line.

This "Yuanen Clan" had then become the largest supplier of forging materials to the Federation.

And though two of their ancestral soul beasts still held loyalty toward Shrek, the clan itself was far cleverer than most.

They weren't foolish enough to bet everything on a single power.

They'd watched the Xingluo royal Dai family and the Federation's Huo family—no matter who won, they'd profit either way.

Large families always played both sides.

Rumor even claimed that the Leng Clan of the Spirit Transmission Tower descended from the Fire Phoenix bloodline once associated with Shrek's Ma family.

Of course, the Leng Clan denied it completely.

Within the Yuanen Clan, Yuanen Tiandang—the patriarch's son—had a wife named Ye Hui, who worked covertly in the Spirit Transmission Tower's secret division.

Yuanen Tiandang himself hailed from the Titan Giant Ape lineage—born with the Titan Giant Ape martial soul, innate full soul power, and reached Soul Douluo rank by twenty.

While training abroad, he met and fell in love with Ye Hui, whose martial soul was the Fallen Angel.

Unfortunately, the Shrek Academy of that era deemed her line "corrupted," a lineage of so-called evil soul masters. Despite Tiandang's insistence that she wasn't evil, neither his clan nor the academy would accept her.

Even the patriarch's son could not defy custom.

And so, with his father's silent approval, he betrayed his clan—destroyed his own cultivation—and joined the Spirit Transmission Tower alongside Ye Hui, becoming her protector.

For the Tower never labeled anyone "evil" simply based on their martial soul.

Using its advanced technology, they stabilized Ye Hui's strength at Rank 89 Soul Douluo.

Yet the power of the Demon Plane still lurked behind her bloodline.

Those who awakened the Fallen Angel martial soul found their cultivation growing even without training, eventually reaching Titled Douluo rank automatically—acquiring spirit rings on their own, one by one.

Their innate soul skill: "The Gate of Demons."

By consuming ambient energy, they could open a path to the Demon Plane and summon infernal troops to invade Douluo.

"So, the time has come?" Jiang Chen mused, rubbing his chin.

That last seal had been placed personally—by him and his final contracted partner, Huo Shenyu.

But the Demon Plane wasn't one to stay quiet forever. It had been centuries… the barrier must be ready to fracture.

He'd told the clan before—when the Gate stirred again, call him.

For though the Demon Plane was far weaker than the Abyssal Plane—and perhaps even weaker than Douluo itself—

it was still a plane.

A genuine world.

Harvesting it could forge a miniature God Realm or feed fresh energy to Douluo's plane core.

Jiang Chen had long viewed the Demon Plane as a treasure trove.

"Come on," he said finally, grinning at Na'er. "Let's go have some fun."

Na'er blinked and instinctively crossed her arms, glaring at him suspiciously.

Was he about to let his beastly instincts take over?

"Ow!"

She yelped as he knocked her lightly on the head.

"What are you thinking? I meant a trip—to another world. You in or not?"

"No!" she huffed, puffing out her cheeks, rubbing her head. Did he still think of her as a child?

She wasn't that little anymore!

He shrugged dramatically. "Fine, forget it. I was planning to take you to see other dimensions, but if you'd rather stay—suit yourself. I'll ask Xue Di instead."

"Wait! Don't you dare! I'm going!" she blurted. "Who said I wasn't!?"

Douluo Continent — Upper Ridge City

Nestled against mountains and rivers, the Yuanen Clan's ancestral village gleamed like a paradise of serenity.

Smooth paved roads ran throughout, wide enough for soul cars to cruise comfortably.

Today, however, the area swarmed with personnel. An entire legion surrounded the compound, though none of the clansmen seemed alarmed—after all, the patriarch had ordered three days of absolute seclusion.

Anyone leaving would be executed on sight.

No one dared defy him.

Though uneasy, even the elders had chosen obedience, and the lockdown proceeded smoothly.

"Yuanen Clan welcomes His Excellency Hanhai Douluo!"

The towering figure before them bowed deeply.

"Rise, Tai Tian," said Chen Xinjie—the Hanhai Douluo, War God Hall's Supreme Commander.

"Please, this way."

"Yes, yes—this way, please."

Such a colossal operation could only warrant Chen Xinjie's personal involvement.

He, too, wished to see the Demon Plane firsthand—and to determine whether it was truly a realm capable of birthing gods.

Besides, no one knew what strength the beings there truly had.

It was rumored to be weaker than the Abyss, but by how much remained uncertain.

The Huo Family's intelligence had finally led to this collaboration with the Yuanen—backed by their two ancestral divine beasts—as the core strike team for this unprecedented excursion.

Had it been the Abyss, sending Di Tian and Er Ming would've been suicide. Their divine rank was too low, and if they used full power, the Divine Realm would instantly reclaim them.

Still, among soul beasts, the Yuanen's ancient bloodline was unparalleled.

Their patriarch, Yuanen Zhentian, alone carried the strength of a quasi-god. The clan boasted not only two Limit Douluo but also the lingering guardianship of those two divine beasts—an unmatched heritage.

"Regarding Shrek Academy—" someone began softly.

The destruction of Shrek had already spread across the continent.

Officially, the Holy Spirit Cult took the blame—but those who'd seen the battlefield knew better. The cataclysmic power that wiped out Tang Sect and Shrek alike could only have come from high-grade soul-guided weaponry.

And who else but the Douluo Federation possessed such weapons?

Many of the Yuanen's younger members had been furious.

How dare the Federation trample Shrek—the greatest academy in the world?

Under the lingering influence of their spiritual ancestors, most of the clan's youths had once studied at Shrek and considered its honor sacred.

But all dissent was swiftly crushed by Yuanen Zhentian himself.

"Are you fools?" he'd thundered. "Demand answers from the Federation? Do you want the clan wiped out by morning?"

Because if the Federation truly wanted to, they could.

And he, for one, intended to survive long enough to pry open a new world instead.
