Chapter 250 - Chapter 250: Yuanen Yehui Wants to Run Off with the Blonde!

Chapter 250: Yuanen Yehui Wants to Run Off with the Blonde!

Out of the tiger's jaws, and straight into the wolf's den.

Moments after leaving the guard station, the formidable Shrek elder Zhuo Shi descended upon them, his expression stormy enough to churn the air.

At any other time, discovering Yuanen Yehui's second martial soul might not have caused such an uproar.

But right now was Shrek Academy's most critical moment.

With the God-Making Plan underway, there was simply no way the academy could publicly acknowledge or shelter a student with even suspected Evil Soul Master potential.

And as Shrek's reputation was already under attack—with rival groups fanning the flames of its downfall—every scandal struck like poison to its name.

"Yuanen Yehui… oh, Yuanen Yehui," Zhuo Shi muttered bitterly.

"You're coming with me!"

Yuanen's face paled. "What does Shrek intend to do with me?"

Zhuo Shi didn't bother answering. He reached out with one massive hand that could crush mountains, intending to take her away.

A Super Douluo's power—there was no resisting it.

But before his hand could close, Jiang Chen stepped forward, blocking his path with a faint smile. "Senior, isn't it a little improper to seize someone without even explaining why?"

Zhuo Shi frowned, his sharp eyes narrowing dangerously.

"You… it's you."

He recognized him immediately—the young man who had once walked straight into the Sea God Pavilion under the eyes of Shrek's Limit Douluo, and left unscathed.

"You think that because you've got the Huo family at your back—and a million-year soul beast—you can do as you please?"

A crushing wave of soul power burst forth. The café windows fractured instantly, spreading spiderweb cracks across the glass.

But Jiang Chen didn't flinch. He stepped calmly forward, shielding Yuanen Yehui behind him, then turned slightly toward a shadowed corner of the room.

"Tiangang," he said lightly, "you're just going to watch me get bullied?"

A lazy, teasing laugh echoed from the darkness.

"Heh, Elder, how could I let that happen?"

From the shadows walked Huo Tiangang, relaxed and grinning as always.

"Senior," he said, his tone polite but sharp, "isn't picking on the younger generation beneath you?"

What—when did he get here?

Zhuo Shi's eyes hardened. Even he hadn't sensed Huo Tiangang's arrival.

A Super Douluo? Hardly just that.

"No wonder," Zhuo Shi muttered coldly. "The Huo family always meddles in other people's business."

"Yuanen Yehui was our student," he continued. "Naturally, we have the right to take her back for disciplinary review."

"Ah, with all due respect—wrong," Huo Tiangang interrupted, chuckling. "Shrek Academy already expelled her. She's no longer your student."

"And frankly, if Shrek's going to 'review' her the way you did last time, I doubt it'll be very fair or just."

"Better leave this to the Federation."

Regardless of whether she was truly an Evil Soul Master, there was no way he'd let Shrek claim her again. Not unless they wanted to label her guilty before trial and dispose of her like they had done to others—

...like the tragedy of Wu Zhangkong's lover, Long Bing.

"This concerns Shrek's honor!" Zhuo Shi protested.

But no one was backing down.

Just then, a familiar ping sounded from Jiang Chen's communicator. Glancing down, his eyes lit up with understanding.

He tapped the device.

From thin air, a thick black mist swirled into existence—and from within it emerged an enormous, horrifying eye nearly two hundred fifty meters wide, surrounded by sixty-six writhing tentacles that each stretched hundreds of meters long.

The Evil-Eyed Tyrant Emperor.

Its tentacles quivered once—and drew a transparent three-meter-wide screen into the air.

A projection flickered to life upon it—revealing none other than the current patriarch of the Yuanen clan himself.

Yuanen Zhentian.

"Crimson Dragon Douluo Zhuo Shi," he greeted smoothly.

The two clearly knew each other. Once, the Yuanen clan and Shrek Academy had stood as allies through countless generations.

That era was past.

Shrek had fled the Douluo Continent long ago, relocating to the Star Luo Empire. The Yuanen family, however, had chosen to remain.

A clan boasting multiple Titled Douluo and two Limit Douluo didn't need to follow another's shadow.

They had no reason to abandon their homeland.

Worse still, public opinion no longer favored Shrek. The academy, struggling to maintain its footing, couldn't afford to drag others into its troubles.

Even the two ancient soul beast patriarchs of the clan, Da Ming and Er Ming, had gone silent.

(As they put it later: "With the Beast Lord awake again, we're busy hiding—why would we go looking for trouble?")

Yuanen Zhentian gazed lovingly at his granddaughter through the projection before addressing Zhuo Shi directly.

"My family's Yuanen Yehui," he said evenly, "is no Evil Soul Master. She merely inherited our Titan Giant Ape lineage and her late mother's Fallen Angel martial soul. A bearer of twin spirits, nothing more."

"I can personally guarantee she has never committed harm, nor taken a single innocent life."

Zhuo Shi blinked, slightly taken aback that Zhentian had appeared so suddenly—even if only via projection.

Still, the technology behind it was startlingly advanced. He couldn't sense a shred of soul power—purely mechanical.

"The Federation's technology really has progressed," he murmured under his breath.

Aloud, he replied, "I have no reason to doubt you, Patriarch Yuanen. But as a former Shrek student, Yehui must return to the academy for formal review."

Zhentian shook his head gently. "No need. You expelled her yourselves. Therefore, she's no longer your business. She'll return home with me instead."

After all, the Yuanen family was now a close strategic partner of the Federation—jointly spearheading the Demon Plane development project.

Aligning with Douluo's ruling powers made far more sense than clinging to Shrek's fading glory.

"Come, little Yehui," he said warmly. "Come back with Grandfather."

"No!" she snapped.

To everyone's surprise, she clung tighter to Jiang Chen's sleeve.

"I'm going with him!"

For a moment, the mighty patriarch simply stared.

Then his face darkened, veins nearly popping on his forehead. He looked every bit the classic grandfather watching his precious granddaughter run off with a yellow-haired delinquent.

His mustache bristled.

If he had known what had truly happened at Douluo University—how his dear Yehui had "fallen" into scandal—he would've marched there personally with an army behind him.

"Enough," Zhuo Shi groaned, sensing disaster brewing. "This matter ends here. The Federation will handle the judgment."
