Chapter 263 - Chapter 263: Underestimating Me? Jie Jie Jie!

Chapter 263: Underestimating Me? Jie Jie Jie!

Even so, they were Shrek Academy's finest prodigies—how could they not withstand storms and trials?

No matter what happened, Zhuo Shi would stand at the forefront, protecting his students with his life.

"Tang Wulin! Protect your classmates!"

They were surrounded—twelve Evil Soul Masters encircled them, their combined aura forming a suffocating field of darkness and blood. The air reeked of malice and decay. Dozens of eyes stared coldly, filled with venom and insanity.

"Heh, damn old fool," one voice sneered. "Last time, your Shrek pests thwarted our Holy Spirit Cult's plans. This time, you'll pay the price!"

The Deathbringer leader's dead eyes gleamed greedily as he gazed upon Zhuo Shi and the vigorous life force radiating from those behind him.

"Refuse mercy, will you? Fine—kill them all! Leave only the old man! Extract their souls and refine them!"

He raised his skeletal staff—his Martial Soul, the Soul-Devouring Banner.

The murky gem atop it flared with sickly green light, releasing a storm of wailing wraiths.

The battle erupted in a roar of chaos.

A Title Douluo-level Evil Soul Master—their power was monstrous.

Though not yet a Super Douluo, their perverse strength often exceeded ordinary equals. And Zhuo Shi, already weakened by the earlier flight and cannon blasts, was nearing exhaustion.

Today, Deathbringer vowed, Zhuo Shi's death would empower his banner—his first Super Douluo soul spirit.

"Die!"

A deep roar split the air—the cry of a crimson dragon.

It no longer shook heaven and earth as before, but if anything, it carried something stronger: unyielding resolve.

Instead of charging directly, Zhuo Shi drew upon what little power remained. His scarlet scales flared to life, coating his battle armor until only two burning dragon eyes showed through.

He stomped the ground.

Seventh Soul Skill—Martial Soul True Body!

Though he could not fully manifest the colossal dragon form—his condensed crimson aura flared like fire turned solid.

The Red Dragon's essence erupted around him, forming a blazing phantom aura compressed into a near-solid cloak of dragonlight.

He crossed his arms. The dragon phantom surged forward, condensing into a massive blazing shield laced with golden runes.

Third Soul Skill—Crimson Dragon Shield: Immortal Barrier!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Dozens of vengeful spirits slammed into his shield, their shrieks echoing like steam tearing through metal. Each spirit burned to ash in his flames.

The barrier trembled violently, cracks spiderwebbing across its surface—but Zhuo Shi stood unmoving. Not a single step back.

He had shielded every one of his students from the assault.

"Old bastard!" Deathbringer spat, both furious and impressed.

Even drained, the man could still unleash such a high-tier defense technique.

But his fury won out.

"Then burn for me—Soul-Devouring Hellfire!"

Emerald-green ghostfire spewed from his staff's tip, flooding forward with corrosive venom and searing psychic heat.

"Don't just stand there!" he barked. "Kill the brats!"

The remaining eleven Evil Soul Masters screamed in unison and charged.

Poison sprays, cursed corpses, ghostly shrieks—the battlefield exploded into chaos. Acid hissed, skeletal claws clattered, and black winds howled.

"Humph!"

"Mountains and rivers—RISE!"

Long Yue hurled a roar skyward. Empowered by Tang Wulin's bloodline, his martial soul erupted in brilliance. His shield met the corrosive barrage head-on, deflecting it with mighty force while he pressed forward like a walking fortress.

"Move!"

On his command, Wu Siduo and Dai Lingyu leapt to his sides, their spectral cat-shaped spirits flickering in and out of sight.

The two agile-types struck like lightning—swift, silent, relentless—harassing and slashing through gaps in enemy lines.

"Damn these Shrek whelps!" one Evil Soul Master cursed. "This turtle shell's too thick!"

Long Yue's Mountain Dragon King stood unshakable—an unbreakable shield and weapon in one.

Meanwhile, Wu Siduo and Dai Lingyu darted in perfect tandem, years of disciplined training making them a deadly blur.

"Shadow—slash!"

"Phantom—strike!"

Their twin claws sliced through the dark haze—Nether Triple Claw!

Six streaks of black lightning ripped through the air, striking down upon one of the weaker Evil Soul Masters before he even realized he'd been targeted.

The claws tore open his chest with a sizzling burn, leaving a smoking gash.

Before he could scream, another enemy—a hulking corpse-skinned brute—laughed and charged through the attack. His arms hardened, bone plates covering them like armor.

With a screech of metal, Dai Lingyu's claws scraped across the bone shell, leaving only faint white grooves. The brute's other hand swung up in retaliation—aiming straight for her throat.

A killing blow.

"Watch out!"

Wu Siduo spun midair, her claws flashing—but she realized it wouldn't be enough.

And in that desperate heartbeat, her aura flared.

The black cat's shadow behind her split—two spirits surged into one.

Everyone knew that dual martial spirits couldn't be invoked at once…

But Wu Siduo was different.

Her unique gift—Self Martial Soul Fusion!

"Nether White Tiger!"

The sweet, graceful cat spirit transformed, merging with the spectral white tiger that roared behind her. The air rippled with its dark-gold fury.

A claw strike descended from the heavens—massive, radiant with destructive might.

Crack!

The enemy's bone arm twisted grotesquely, the armor shattered by a single blow. His scream resounded as blood splattered across the ground.

Not fatal—but far from over.

"Die!" Wu Siduo hissed. Her eyes burned with twin lights of shadow and flame as she swung once more—this time aiming for his skull.

A fusion skill—unstoppable and pure power.

A shocked voice rang out amid the chaos.

"Martial Soul Fusion Skill!? As expected of Shrek!"

Then it twisted into a shrill laugh.

"But you think that'll stop me? You think I'm so easily crushed?"

"Jie jie jie jie…"
