After opening his eyes, Aaron couldn't believe the reality in front of himself for several seconds.
He closed and opened his eyes more times than he could count, hoping that the view in front of him changed.
But it didn't.
And to make matters worse, his subconscious human instinct of saying "Shut up, please" came back to bite him in the ass.
Earlier those mushroom… –people? – seemed to be in a world of their own, circling around Aaron while screaming in a language only they could understand.
But now, after he spoke up, all of their attention was attracted back onto him.
They were barely the size of a fist each, having small legs connected to the base of their stem while at the top of their stem, right below the fungi cap, there were faces.
They looked like emojis, each of them holding a completely different expression.
Some seemed to be smiling politely, appearing like they were just glad to be present.
Some were frowning, like they felt why are they even here.
