Chapter 151 - Chapter 151: The Seventh Reverse Scale

Chapter 151: The Seventh Reverse Scale

The powerful slap instantly left the Purple Crystal Winged Lion King's right cheek swollen. It took him a moment to process what had just happened.

"Big brother, why did you hit me?" the Lion King asked with a pitiful expression, clearly feeling wronged.

"Because you deserved it!" Golden Lion snapped, glaring at him coldly. "Don't you realize that boy had two terrifying experts backing him up?"

"I really didn't know that!" the Lion King protested, looking genuinely aggrieved.

"Oh, right. I forgot someone at your level wouldn't even be worthy of making those two elders show themselves," Golden Lion said with a sigh.

"What two elders? That boy only had a human woman with him!" The Lion King was confused.

"Half Saint experts can conceal themselves within the spatial void. Do you think you're qualified to sense them?" Golden Lion growled, resisting the urge to slap him again.

"Half Saint? What's that?" the Lion King asked, blinking in confusion.

"You!" Golden Lion was momentarily speechless but, remembering their long standing relationship, explained through gritted teeth, "A Half Saint is a supreme expert, just one step away from becoming a Dou Saint."

Golden Lion ignored the shock spreading across the Lion King's face and continued coldly. "That boy had two such unparalleled experts protecting him. Even Beast Sovereign was subdued by them effortlessly. Do you really think we can afford to provoke him?"

"Even the Beast Sovereign was captured?" The Purple Crystal Winged Lion King was utterly stunned.

The Beast Sovereign was the ruler of the Magical Beast Mountain Range a figure even his elder brother respected deeply. Now, hearing that the Beast Sovereign had been easily subdued, the Lion King shuddered at the memory of Xiao Yan's calm, smiling face.

"Wait, didn't he tell me to go to Jia Ma Imperial City to join his alliance? Now that I think about it, it doesn't sound like a bad idea," the Lion King said, perking up.

Golden Lion turned to him with a dark, threatening gaze.

"What's wrong, big brother?" the Lion King asked hesitantly.

"You at your level were also invited to be a spirit beast, just like me?"

The Lion King felt insulted and indignant, but he dared not say a word.

While the magical beasts of the mountain range were left grappling with their thoughts, Xiao Yan had already traveled thousands of miles northward, following the guidance of the six Seven Colored Reverse Scales.

As he flew, the resonance between the scales grew increasingly intense.

"Almost there," Xiao Yan murmured, his face lighting up with anticipation. Soon, an ancient, modestly sized city appeared below him, comparable in size to Wu Tan City.

At that moment, an auction was taking place within the city.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this Seven Colored Snake Scale was recovered by one of our empire's generals during a battle with the Cloud Empire. Its exact properties remain unknown, but its extraordinary hardness has been tested even a Dou Ling's full strength strike couldn't damage it.

"We estimate it originated from a seventh tier magical beast. While it doesn't seem to possess any special abilities, it's an exceptional material for crafting armor. The starting bid is 5,000 gold coins, with a minimum increment of 100 coins per bid."

A curvaceous auctioneer stood on stage, her cheerful voice carrying across the room.

"It's just a scale from a magical beast. Even if it's from a seventh tier beast, it's not worth that much," a woman muttered disdainfully.

"Indeed. The Dou Qi Continent has plenty of materials that can stump a Dou Ling's strength. A single scale shouldn't fetch such a high price," many spectators murmured, shaking their heads.

"I bid 5,500 gold coins!" a young girl suddenly stood up.

"Sweetheart, it's just a useless scale. It's not worth the price," said the middle aged man seated beside her, tugging on her arm.

"Father!" The girl pouted and shook his arm playfully. "But it's so beautiful! Please buy it for me, won't you?"

The man sighed, rubbing his temples.

"Please, Father, pretty please?" The girl pleaded, shaking his arm more insistently.

"Fine, fine! I can never say no to you." The man rolled his eyes in exasperation.

"Thank you, Father!" The girl beamed with delight.

The auction ended quickly, and the scale was soon brought to the father and daughter by a staff member.

"Patriarch Ji, here is your item," the attendant said respectfully.

"Thank you." The patriarch handed the Seven Colored Scale to his daughter, shaking his head.

"Sweetheart, I still need to save up for Qi Gathering Powder for you. From now on, you must be more frugal," he said, sighing.

"Thank you, Father!" The girl grinned, examining the scale happily. But as she held it, the scale suddenly began to tremble in her hand. Moments later, a dazzling rainbow light erupted from it.

"Wow, Father! Look, we've found a treasure!" the girl exclaimed, her eyes wide with wonder.

"A treasure?" The patriarch's face showed disbelief.

Suddenly, a figure crashed through the auction hall's roof, landing right in front of the pair. The young man's presence exuded a terrifying aura, causing everyone in the hall to freeze in fear.

"A Dou Wang expert?" the audience murmured in awe, trembling at the sight of the black haired, black robed youth with Dou Qi wings.

The patriarch attempted to speak but fell silent as the Seven Colored Scale flew out of his daughter's hand and into the young man's palm.

"Boom!" The moment all seven Reverse Scales combined, a colossal, thousand foot long seven colored serpent appeared in the sky above the city.

Across a thousand mile radius, humans and magical beasts alike prostrated themselves in terror. Even the strongest among them couldn't stop trembling as they gazed at the divine serpent's enormous figure.

To ordinary people, who might never even encounter a fifth tier magical beast in their lifetime, this was nothing short of a miracle.

The serpent's shadow lingered briefly before vanishing, but the awe and fear it left behind were indelible.

Holding the now fully assembled Seven Reverse Scales, which danced in the air like a lively, rainbow colored serpent, Xiao Yan's eyes shone with anticipation.

"The Demon Saint's Inheritance is finally within reach," he whispered, feeling the scales guide him to a new location likely the site of the Demon Saint's legacy.

Suppressing his excitement, Xiao Yan turned to the stunned father and daughter before him.

"How much did you pay for this scale?" he asked with a faint smile.
