Chapter 154: Unleashing Full Power (Part 2)
Boom!
The small black and white handprint seemed harmless, but as soon as it struck the elder's chest, it left a deep imprint despite the defensive Dou Technique he had activated.
Dong!
The sound reverberated like a massive bell, and the elder's body shot downward like a cannonball, crashing into the ground and creating a crater dozens of meters wide.
When the dust settled, the elder, once the proud old sect master of Yu Yuan Sect, was kneeling in the pit, blood dripping from his mouth.
"This... This is impossible!" His disbelieving eyes stared up at Xiao Yan in the sky before he spat out another mouthful of blood.
A Stunned Silence
The air was thick with shock. The dozens of strong cultivators floating in the sky were utterly silent.
A four star Dou Zong someone even all of them combined might struggle to defeat had been brought low by this young man, who was only at the peak of Dou Huang. The scene before them shook their understanding of what was possible.
A Calm Xiao Yan
Xiao Yan, however, showed no trace of arrogance or pride. His gaze shifted calmly to a distant part of the sky.
"Three of you have been hiding long enough. Why not come out and join us?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, the space in the distance rippled, and three elderly men in identical purple robes emerged, floating steadily in midair.
"It's the Purple Spirit Elders!" someone in the crowd exclaimed.
"These three are all Dou Zong level experts! The weakest is a two star Dou Zong, and the strongest is four stars. When they fight together, they can even contend with a five star Dou Zong!"
The revelation caused a stir among the spectators.
Just after Xiao Yan had defeated the old sect master, three even more formidable opponents had arrived.
A Dangerous Ultimatum
"Young friend, your talent is extraordinary, truly rare. We respect that. Hand over the item in your possession, and we'll let you leave unharmed," said the eldest of the Purple Spirit Elders, smiling kindly.
The trio had watched Xiao Yan's earlier battle and were well aware of his monstrous potential. Judging by his age and abilities, he was clearly a prodigy from some great power.
However, the treasure Xiao Yan held was too valuable to pass up. If it weren't so precious, they wouldn't risk provoking someone like him.
"Unharmed?" Xiao Yan's lips curled into a disdainful smile.
"With just the three of you? You think you're capable of stopping me?"
"You !"
The Purple Spirit Elders' faces darkened.
"After your fight with the Yu Yuan Sect elder, your Dou Qi must be almost depleted. Do you really think you can fight us too?"
No matter how talented Xiao Yan was, a high level Earth tier Dou Technique like the one he had just unleashed should have drained most of his Dou Qi.
Xiao Yan's Confidence
"Depleted?" Xiao Yan chuckled, spreading his arms wide.
Two massive, black and white fire dragons appeared behind him, coiling in the air.
"Who said I'm out of Dou Qi?"
Boom!
The fire dragons began to swirl, drawing energy from the surroundings. Everyone watching was stunned as they realized that the dragons were refining the ambient energy and converting it directly into Dou Qi, replenishing Xiao Yan's reserves.
In mere moments, his aura was restored, even stronger than before.
"An... Heavenly Flame! He has a Heavenly Flame!" The Purple Spirit Elders' faces shifted dramatically.
"Attack him! Don't let him fully recover!"
The three moved simultaneously, charging at Xiao Yan.
The Chase Begins
"Heh, do you really think you can catch me?" Xiao Yan sneered before vanishing into a blur.
"Damn it, this brat's movement technique is extraordinary!"
The elders split up to corner him, their coordinated positioning meant to block every possible escape route.
Yet the spectators who had seen Xiao Yan's earlier battles shook their heads in pity.
"This won't work. They're already at a disadvantage."
As expected, the weakest of the Purple Spirit Elders, the two star Dou Zong, intercepted Xiao Yan first.
"You can't take on the three of us in your current state!" the elder declared, only to have his expression twist in pain a second later.
Before he could react, Xiao Yan's powerful form was already upon him.
Crushing Power
"Eight Extremes Collapse!" Xiao Yan growled, slamming an elbow into the elder's chest.
Crack!
The sickening sound of ribs shattering echoed through the air, accompanied by a dull, internal thud.
The elder coughed up a mouthful of blood mixed with fragments of his organs as his body hurtled toward the ground.
At the last moment, he managed to use spatial energy to cushion his fall, but even so, he spat another mouthful of blood.
"Third Brother!" the other two elders shouted in alarm.
Without giving them a chance to regroup, Xiao Yan grinned, his eyes gleaming with battle lust.
Two Versus One
The two remaining elders lunged at Xiao Yan together.
Their combined strength allowed them to suppress Xiao Yan slightly, but they couldn't land any meaningful blows. Instead, Xiao Yan seemed to grow more exhilarated with every exchange.
"This kid is a monster!"
Both the Purple Spirit Elders and the distant spectators felt a chill as they watched Xiao Yan's relentless assault.
A mere Dou Huang was holding his own against two Dou Zongs, after already injuring two others. Such strength was unheard of.
A Sneak Attack
Suddenly, a blood red spear materialized behind Xiao Yan, flying straight at him with terrifying speed.
Xiao Yan's instincts kicked in. He shifted slightly, conjuring a hasty shield of Dou Qi.
Shnk!
The spear pierced the shield, its power weakened but still formidable, and struck Xiao Yan's chest, leaving a shallow wound.
Chilling energy surged into his body, accompanied by a sinister, corrupting force. Yet before it could spread, Xiao Yan's Yin Yang Flame burned it away effortlessly.
He turned toward the source of the attack and saw a red haired man smiling wickedly.
"It's the Blood Sea Sect Master!" someone in the crowd gasped.
A notorious killer who thrived on bloodshed, the Blood Sea Sect Master was another three star Dou Zong.
Reinforcements Arrive
"Young man, hand over the treasure, and I'll let you live," the Blood Sea Sect Master said, his tone dripping with malice.
"Oh? Is it just you?" Xiao Yan smirked disdainfully.
"Of course not. We're here too."
Two more figures emerged from the void.
One was a middle aged man in a golden robe, the other an elderly woman wrapped in a black snake's coils.
"It's the Golden Cauldron Pavilion Master and the Serpent Elder!"
The crowd was once again in an uproar.
"Didn't I already say this? Dying at my hands is a privilege, yet you dared to run!"
A sharp soul attack, like a piercing sword, struck the Blood Sea Sect Master's mind. His body froze for a moment, and by the time he recovered from the agonizing pain, a black and white spear had appeared in Xiao Yan's hand.
The spear was entirely formed from the Yin Yang Sacred Flame, radiating a terrifyingly oppressive heat.
"Since you dared to ambush me with your blood spear, allow me to return the favor," Xiao Yan said with a chilling smile.
"Yin Yang Sacred Flame Spear!"
With a flick of his wrist, the spear shot forward like a lightning bolt, piercing through the Blood Sea Sect Master's chest with ease.
"You...you..." The Blood Sea Sect Master pointed at Xiao Yan, his face twisting in terror as black and white flames began to spread from the wound in his chest.
For an ordinary Dou Zong, a pierced heart would only be a critical injury, far from fatal. But with the presence of an Heavenly Flame, the rules changed.
A Terrifying Death
"Boom!"
The flames quickly consumed his entire body, igniting the Sect Master in an inferno of Yin Yang flames. His screams echoed across the battlefield, but no matter how he struggled, he couldn't escape the flames clinging to his very soul.
After only a few moments of flight, his body tumbled to the ground. Even his blood red spirit tried to escape from the flames but was quickly engulfed by them.
The spirit writhed silently before disintegrating into nothingness. All that remained was a faint, human shaped pile of ash, the last evidence of a once mighty three star Dou Zong.
Pummeling the Remaining Four
Meanwhile, Xiao Yan had already shifted his focus to the remaining four Dou Zong experts. With his overwhelming strength matching that of a four star Dou Zong in physical might and three star Dou Zong peak in Dou Qi he relentlessly assaulted his enemies.
Every move was decisive and brutal. The Purple Spirit Elders, with their carefully coordinated teamwork, still couldn't withstand Xiao Yan's ferocity. After just fifteen minutes of battle, one of the three, another three star Dou Zong, was struck down and heavily injured.
Dominating the Battlefield
"Ha! This is exhilarating!" Xiao Yan exclaimed, stretching his muscles as he faced the remaining three combatants, all battered and struggling to keep up.
For the first time, a serious expression appeared on the faces of the three four star Dou Zong experts.
"Young man," said the Golden Cauldron Pavilion Master, his tone grave. "Your strength is undeniable, and you've certainly earned our respect. But this treasure is far too valuable it's not something you can claim for yourself alone."
"And you think you can claim it instead of me?" Xiao Yan shot back, his gaze dripping with disdain.
His dismissive tone was infuriating, but the three Dou Zong couldn't even bring themselves to retort. They now understood that Xiao Yan hadn't even used his deadliest techniques. If he did, one or two more of them might not make it out alive.
Facing the Tide
The Golden Cauldron Pavilion Master's tone grew serious:
"Even if you can defeat us, can you truly stand against the entire Northwest Continent? This treasure has already attracted countless experts soon, five star Dou Zong, six star Dou Zong, or even a Dou Zun might arrive.
"Do you really think you can fight the entire continent on your own?"
A Bold Declaration
Xiao Yan rubbed his chin thoughtfully, as if considering the Pavilion Master's words.
Seeing this, the Pavilion Master smiled, thinking his words had finally swayed the young man. "If you're willing to share the treasure, we can guarantee your safety and even grant you priority access to its secrets."
But Xiao Yan suddenly shook his head.
"Fight the Northwest Continent's elites?" he murmured, as if contemplating the challenge. Then, a grin spread across his face.
"Why not?"
His words sent shockwaves through the crowd.
"Did he just say...he wants to fight the entire Northwest Continent?"
The gathered experts stared at Xiao Yan as though he were insane. His audacity was so overwhelming, it left them speechless.
A Trap Revealed
Realizing persuasion was futile, the Pavilion Master's face darkened. "You leave us no choice. Everyone, come out!"
At his call, nearly ten figures emerged from various hidden corners of the battlefield.
"You're a rare talent, young man," said the most powerful of the newcomers, his voice calm but laced with menace. "We'd hate to kill you, but if you insist on keeping the treasure for yourself, you leave us no other option."
The man's aura was suffocating, revealing his five star Dou Zong peak strength.
Xiao Yan's Counterplay
"Share the treasure?" Xiao Yan looked at the gathered experts, their eyes gleaming with greed. His lips curled into a cryptic smile.
"Who said I wasn't expecting all of you to show up?"
