Chapter 197: The Queen Gets Humiliated
As the sound came from within his sleeve, Xiao Yan opened his eyes again.
A cool, smooth sensation slithered along his arm before a stunning, seven colored serpent emerged from his sleeve.
"So, it's you, little one." Xiao Yan's lips curled into a smile as he spotted the Seven Colored Heaven Swallowing Python.
Upon seeing him, the serpent's amethyst like eyes shimmered with human like affection. It rubbed its tiny head against Xiao Yan's hand, as though trying to charm him.
"I wonder if Her Majesty the Queen would act this coquettishly toward me," Xiao Yan mused, a sly grin creeping across his face as he observed the little snake's sycophantic behavior.
He then retrieved two jade bottles from his storage ring.
Inside one was Accompanying Amethyst Source, while the other contained the refined essence blood of a Purple Sky Devil Python, a ninth tier magical beast. Though the Purple Sky Devil Python's lineage wasn't as noble as the Seven Colored Heaven Swallowing Python, its essence blood was still immensely beneficial for the latter's growth.
Under Xiao Yan's care, the little serpent had grown significantly. Every time he refined a Heavenly Flame, the python had shared in the benefits, making its evolution more rapid.
Now, Xiao Yan planned to give it a boost with the essence blood of a beast with saintly bloodline heritage. Once the serpent matured, it would pave the way for the emergence of Queen Medusa.
Xiao Yan had no ulterior motives, of course. He simply wanted to… play with a snake.
Smirking at his own thought, he uncorked the bottles, extracting nine drops of Accompanying Amethyst Source and a single, pea sized drop of the demon saint's essence blood.
Though the python had grown, it hadn't yet fully matured. Too much essence blood at once could harm it.
The moment the little serpent spotted the essence blood, its purple eyes lit up, glowing with eagerness. It lunged forward, attempting to dive headlong into the jade bottle.
But Xiao Yan caught it mid air, chuckling. "Easy there, little one. Good things come in small doses."
"Hiss hiss!" The Seven Colored Python let out a plaintive whimper, sulking for a moment before turning its attention to the offering in Xiao Yan's palm.
With a swift motion, it opened its maw, inhaling the drops of essence and source energy like a vortex.
The energy coursing through the python's tiny body caused its scales to glow with a radiant sheen. Soon after, the little serpent let out a satisfied burp, a shimmering halo of seven colors emanating from its body.
Clearly, the feast had greatly benefited it.
Satisfied, the python began to grow sluggish, its body drooping. Xiao Yan reached out and flicked its tail playfully.
"Eat, sleep, repeat. Are you a snake or a pig?"
Ignoring him, the serpent curled up trustingly in Xiao Yan's palm, its jewel like eyes fluttering shut as it dozed off.
Chuckling, Xiao Yan gently shook his head and prepared to slip the little creature back into his sleeve.
But before he could, the glowing light around the serpent intensified.
Its body expanded rapidly, and within moments, Xiao Yan's hand felt an unexpected softness.
When the light faded, a breathtaking figure appeared in his arms.
A flawless woman's body, curvaceous and alluring, lay within his grasp. Her icy, otherworldly beauty was enough to render Xiao Yan speechless.
For a brief moment, he understood the saying: When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes back.
"Have you seen enough?" A cold voice shattered the silence, snapping Xiao Yan out of his trance.
"Not yet," Xiao Yan replied sincerely, his gaze fixed.
"You scoundrel! I ought to kill you!" Queen Medusa's voice was as sharp as ice. She raised her delicate hand to slap Xiao Yan across the face.
But before her hand could connect, Xiao Yan caught her wrist effortlessly, his eyes never leaving her.
"Are you still trying to hit your husband?" he teased.
"You!" Medusa struggled to free her hand but found herself utterly powerless. Her fiery indignation only grew.
Xiao Yan finally tore his gaze away from her and met her eyes. Despite her icy demeanor, her features were impossibly exquisite. Her elegance had an untouchable quality, as though she were a goddess descending to the mortal world.
"Come on, I've done so much for your snake tribe. Is this how you treat your benefactor?" Xiao Yan teased, his tone lighthearted.
With a wave of his hand, he conjured a loose robe of energy to drape over her figure not out of modesty, but to preserve his own composure.
Hearing his words, Medusa's expression softened slightly, though the awkward position they found themselves in brought a stiffness back to her movements.
"The ancestor has told me about your deeds," she said coldly. "Logically speaking, marrying you would benefit both me and my tribe greatly."
"Your snake tribe is full of pragmatists," Xiao Yan chuckled, admiration flashing across his face.
The queen's decisiveness impressed him. Though their relationship wasn't romantic yet, Xiao Yan believed in the saying: Feelings can grow over time.
Just as he allowed himself a satisfied grin, her voice turned frosty once more.
"However, I will not follow a weakling. If you want me, you'll have to defeat me first."
Her challenge caught Xiao Yan off guard. Slowly, his grin widened into a mischievous smirk.
"Are you sure about that?" he asked, his tone tinged with amusement.
"I know you've reached the Dou Zong level, but with the Seven Colored Python's power at my command, I will soon regain my peak strength. When that happens, I may not lose to you," she declared confidently.
Her confidence faltered as Xiao Yan's aura surged. A suffocating pressure filled the air.
"You're not serious, are you?" Xiao Yan asked, his tone playful.
"You're already a Three Star Dou Zong?" Medusa's narrow eyes widened in disbelief.
She had only been in a deep sleep for two months, and yet this man's strength had soared from a One Star Dou Zong to a Three Star Dou Zong. The sheer speed of his progress was terrifying.
"Well? Still want to fight me?" Xiao Yan's mocking grin returned. "I'm a gentleman, you know. I don't like hitting my wife."
Even as she blushed faintly, Medusa gritted her teeth. "So what if you're a Three Star Dou Zong? It doesn't mean you can defeat me!"
Her pride refused to yield, but deep down, she knew she had been utterly humiliated.
"Heh. The next time you see me, I might be a Five Star Dou Zong," Xiao Yan taunted.
Before she could retort, her body began to glow again. The radiant light engulfed her form, and when it faded, she had returned to her snake form, coiled limply in his palm.
"This woman…" Xiao Yan muttered, shaking his head in exasperation.
